I wish I could leave two reviews based on my experiences with two completely different doctors. Dunaway: 5/5 stars! Dr. Dunaway cared for me and performed my IVF. I felt he had the best bedside manner until he abruptly left the clinic. Lu: 0/5 stars. Then Dr. Lu... this man deserves less than 1 star. Awful. His bedside manner is so bad that he should not be practicing. He compared my infertility to a plane crash. Because of him, I will never return to FINO.

They do not seem to care. This is a major issue for people who want children. I have been calling for nearly two months and still have not received answers about my tests. Please answer the phone!!! Improve your customer service!

I can never thank Dr. Dunaway enough for everything he did! I went to another local fertility clinic and felt very discouraged after two failed IUIs. When I began feeling pressured into IVF without a real explanation for why the IUIs kept failing, I decided to seek a second opinion. From my initial consultation with Dr. Dunaway, I knew I had made the right decision! He gave me hope, was caring and knowledgeable, and immediately made me feel like family. Every visit afterward was wonderful. His staff always made me feel important and welcome. My first IUI at his office was successful! I highly recommend the Fertility Institute of Baton Rouge and Dr. Dunaway!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Sato. Her explanations were very detailed and analytical, which made it easy for me to understand the issues and the plan to address them. Her approach gave me confidence in following her recommendations because I knew every step had been carefully considered. What I appreciated most was the way Dr. Sato communicated with my husband and me. I never felt patronized or ashamed—she treated me with respect and understanding, which made a challenging process more manageable. If you are looking for a thorough, thoughtful fertility specialist who genuinely cares about her patients, I highly recommend Dr. Sato.

Dr. Lu is a nice person, but research his fertility success rates and you will find that he and his clinic have extremely low rates. They just tell you to keep trying instead of looking for a solution to the underlying problem. They cannot help you become pregnant, so go elsewhere.

I cannot recommend this group highly enough. From Dr. Huber to the IVF nurses, sonographers, and billing staff, everyone was very kind, supportive, and helpful. They answered every question thoroughly, and I never felt like a burden. Our cycle went smoothly, and after years of trying, I am now nearly 10 weeks pregnant. Thank you so much for giving us our miracle!

About a year and a half ago, my wife was treated by Dr. Lu at this clinic. He was kind, but we were very dissatisfied with the treatment plan. In my view, he focused more on the number of IVF cycles than on finding the cause. My wife completed several cycles and produced eggs, but they stopped developing after fertilization. The clinic focused only on adding medication to produce more ‘high-quality’ eggs, which cost more and placed enormous stress on my wife. We repeatedly asked why the eggs were not developing, but the only answer was to try another cycle. After three cycles and substantial expense, we sought care elsewhere. At a Baton Rouge clinic, we knew from day one that the experience would be better. The fertility doctor performed the same testing and found several factors preventing my wife from producing healthy eggs. He prescribed medication to address them, and she became pregnant on the first attempt. Our baby is due in August! Another major oversight at FINO was that they never checked whether we had fertility-medication benefits—and we did. This mistake cost us nearly $20,000. The second clinic checked our benefits, and treatment there cost even less. Another wasteful requirement was meeting with a lawyer and paying for a legal agreement about any embryos before any developed. You also had to prepay thousands of dollars for embryo genetic testing regardless of whether embryos developed, with no refund if none did. Overall, considering the money and time invested, we received no special care and felt like people being moved through an assembly line.

Dr. Huber and the staff at the Fertility Institute are wonderful. They are very kind and understanding. I highly recommend them to anyone on a fertility journey.

My experience with Dr. Lu and the entire clinic was very negative. Waiting one to two hours to be seen was considered normal. After a misdiagnosis from a misread HSG, I underwent unnecessary procedures, including multiple IUI cycles, and wasted thousands of dollars. I transferred to another clinic and immediately received the correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment. I then became pregnant through IVF on the first cycle because my actual diagnosis—bilateral blocked fallopian tubes—meant IVF was required. I do not recommend this clinic because it adds needless emotional, physical, and financial strain to the stress of infertility.

I cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Huber and his team. Throughout our care, they consistently guided and supported us. They explained every viable option and always respected our choices, allowing us to decide the next step. After our positive pregnancy test, they continued to support us and make sure everything progressed well. When they told us we no longer needed regular follow-ups, we felt both relieved and sad because my wife and I were so grateful to have had them beside us on this journey. If you are struggling to conceive, I highly recommend consulting Dr. Huber.

From the beginning, everyone gave us tremendous support throughout our long in vitro fertilization (IVF) journey. I especially want to thank Lauren, who greeted me warmly with a smile at every appointment. I also want to give special thanks to Ms. Lisa, who patiently answered every question I had about IVF, medications, and other related matters. Her expertise and kindness helped put me at ease. Last but not least, thank you to Dr. Huber for helping us achieve our dream. After a long journey, we welcomed our beautiful daughter three weeks ago. We had a wonderful experience at FINO. My wife and I had previously gone to another clinic but could never reach anyone. We then contacted FINO, where we not only reached a staff member but also scheduled a consultation by phone. Everyone was kind, patient, hopeful, and knowledgeable. Dr. Ulrich gave us plenty of time during the consultation and helped us develop a treatment plan tailored to our needs. Over the next four months, he remained extremely dedicated to our care. We are very grateful for FINO's efforts and transparent communication. We highly recommend this clinic!

If you are considering this fertility clinic, please save yourself the stress, money, and emotional damage — look elsewhere! My wife and I came here because we are both silent carriers for a genetic condition and needed specialized support. Our first meeting with Dr. Ulrich was promising, but everything after that was a complete disaster. The first step was a genetic probe. Somehow, their team managed to botch this three or four separate times because the tech couldn’t follow the written instructions for the blood‑draw kit. This forced us to repeatedly order new kits from Progenesis, take multiple long drives from Mississippi to New Orleans, miss work, and pay for gas — all because of their mistakes. Not once did anyone apologize. The attitude was as if we were inconveniencing them. The next step was the TESE procedure. We had an insurance change during the process, and instead of communicating with us, their embryologist simply cancelled the procedure without notifying us. We showed up believing the procedure was happening, only to discover no one could explain what was going on. My wife even told them she would pay cash and submit to insurance later, but they still cancelled it and never bothered to call. After four months of back‑and‑forth, we were no closer to answers or progress. At some point you have to ask yourself: How can you trust a clinic to manage something as critical as IVF when they can’t even handle a blood draw or make a phone call? When my wife finally called to tell them we could no longer continue care with them — calmly and politely — the staff hung up on her. That tells you everything you need to know about how they treat patients. This clinic was heartless, dismissive, and repeatedly blamed my wife for issues that were entirely their fault. Excuse me, but who is the customer here? Do not trust this place with something as important as your family’s future. Do not waste your time, money, or emotional energy.

In nearly 30 years, I had never undergone any pelvic examination/procedure without significant pain. The staff do not dismiss your concerns or fears. I had an SHG while my mind was in panic mode, but as they said, I experienced only discomfort and cramping. Dr. Huber is genuinely kind and trustworthy. If, like me, you would rather undergo another spinal fusion than a gynecologic procedure, trust them. He adjusts the instrument size to fit your body better and avoid causing pain. Thank you all again; I greatly appreciate everything.

This is the best fertility office I have visited. They genuinely care, and it shows. I appreciated every step and successfully graduated from the program at age 43 using my own eggs :) Dr. Huber is an outstanding doctor! He is kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Everyone is wonderful, and I cannot praise the service enough. If you need fertility help, this is the place to go! They know what they are doing. God did too when He sent me here!

Dr. Shaib is the best gynecologist I have seen in years. Before conducting a thorough examination, she took time to discuss my medical history and concerns. The nurses and office staff were very kind and patient.

From the time I began care at this clinic until I left, all the staff were pleasant and kind, and most were compassionate about the sensitivity of the infertility journey. What I did not previously realize, and what I want others to understand, is that fertility treatment is effectively an experiment conducted at the patient's expense. They did not tell me this until I had completed and failed the most expensive package available. The response was simply, "Sorry, what we tried did not work, so now you can try again at a small discount." They did not consider that the large amount I had just paid the clinic was still a loan, leaving me with a huge bill and nothing but experimental data. I now feel like a laboratory test subject whose results can be added to their failure and ineffectiveness data so they might change the plan for the next person like me. I know FINO has helped create many precious babies and that many couples have succeeded here. That is what you will hear, and all you will hear, throughout the process. You will never hear that even the most intensive treatment can fail! I wish couples knew this before experiencing the grief my husband and I endured, a disaster that left us only in debt and heartbroken. My doctor spent considerable time explaining the "experimental process" and trying to justify its scientific basis, but that was all. I received no support, counseling, or diagnostic guidance, only data on how my body responded to what they "hoped" would work! When I asked about diagnostic tools we might have missed and could reconsider, the doctor told me what he would try next time if I chose that approach. Yet there was still no diagnostic explanation for why my body struggled so much. Of course, the kind nurses offered condolences, but that does not make up for the pain, grief, and enormous debt that followed. Be aware that other local clinics charge much less! Some even offer reassurance plans with package pricing for multiple IVF cycles, or a single-cycle service that includes up to 4 transfers. I wish I had not blindly trusted a partner clinic and had done more research! Speaking of research, be sure to review their data online and compare it with nearby clinics and especially national standards. They will tell you the data are biased because they accept anyone. According to the data, however, that means they accept anyone even if you are ultimately likely to fail as I did. They are not going to turn down a large payment, so I now understand that this is a business decision. If you are looking for diagnostic answers or reasons their interventions have not worked, this is not the place for you. If you are willing to take a chance and let them experiment on you in the hope that they succeed, at your emotional and financial expense, then this may be the place for you. I am sharing this to spare others the harm I experienced. I only wish I had known the financial and emotional risks earlier instead of hearing only the benefits. Know that you are not alone on the infertility journey. Only God can feel our pain and understand our hurt. He is the ultimate physician who heals all and comforts the brokenhearted. May we all seek His wisdom, rather than human wisdom, on this journey! Best wishes.

I am sincerely grateful to Dr. Huber and the entire staff at the New Orleans clinic. They supported me through one of the hardest times in my life and helped my husband and me achieve our dream of starting a family. Words cannot express my gratitude. This clinic and its staff are amazing! When my husband and I first met with Dr. Huber, he explained everything in simple terms. He was prepared to follow whichever course we chose and never tried to persuade us to choose one option over another. Unfortunately, I experienced an unexpected miscarriage after an IUI cycle. Erin, the nurse practitioner, and the ultrasound technician were very compassionate, and we could tell they cared. Erin allowed my husband and me to decide which path we wanted to take and never pressured us toward one option. We ultimately chose Cytotec tablets to begin the miscarriage process. When the first course did not work completely, we tried another. When that course also did not work completely, Dr. Huber called me and said, "We gave it a good try, but now we need to consider your health." We decided to schedule a D&C. Dr. Huber explained everything and made me feel more comfortable about taking that route. Thankfully, I ultimately did not need the D&C. All this is to say that the staff are amazing—from the nurses and front desk team to the laboratory staff and ultrasound technician. I would recommend this clinic to anyone!

My praise for the Fertility Institute of New Orleans is not based solely on achieving a successful pregnancy, although that is certainly the main point. I also want to emphasize how friendly and professional everyone was, from the front desk and billing staff to the nurses and doctors. They treated me with respect, kindness, and professionalism. They were helpful, explained everything, and gave me great reassurance. They are experienced and highly skilled! I never felt like just a number or a paycheck here. Highly recommended! Dr. Huber also made my dream of having a baby come true!

She is a loving and passionate doctor who genuinely cares for every patient and provides the best service. She is highly knowledgeable and always goes above and beyond to meet patients’ expectations. She is also a kind and caring person, and I admire her humility. I have been seeing her since 2017 and strongly recommend her to anyone with pelvic pain or discomfort.

I have not seen Dr. Scheib since I had an MRI in early March, and she never had a chance to read it because she left the hospital I was visiting. I am trying to return to her care, but they say they do not accept my insurance, so I have to find another provider. I wish I could see her! She is a very nice person.

Dr. Scheib is very thorough, truly listens to you, and has an excellent bedside manner.

Dr. Scheib is saying a hysterectomy is a cure for endometriosis. WRONG! Excision by a vetted endometriosis excision specialist is the Gold Standard. A hysterectomy will cure adenomyosis. I just had one and no longer have adenomyosis! Stay AWAY from her! She's dangerously giving misinformation. Also, Endometriosis excision specialists for not do Obstetrics!
