Dr. Samuel Ohlander is committed to building trusting relationships with patients through honest, compassionate, and collaborative care. He is board-certified in urology and specializes in male infertility, fertility preservation, low testosterone, vasectomy, and microsurgical vasectomy reversal. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine, where he also completed residencies in surgery and urology. He then completed a fellowship in male reproductive medicine and surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.

In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Ohlander contributes to curriculum, education, and counseling at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He published an article on the medical management of male infertility in Campbell's Urology, Inturation in the Male, a leading textbook of urology and male reproductive medicine.

Dr. Ohlander understands that male infertility is a sensitive issue for many patients. He strives to provide a comfortable, open environment where patients feel empowered as they take steps to build their families.

    Their patient portal is terrible. First, they created my account with a misspelled email address, so I had to wait about a week for IT to fix it before I could log in. Second, they did not upload my tests and records to the portal. When I called for help, they transferred me to another company, Shady Grove Fertility, which apparently had my records because I was no longer an active patient. I am not sure, because I could not log in there either. When I called Shady Grove, the automated message said records could take up to 30 days and requests would not be expedited...useless. Personally, I found the doctor who conducted our initial consultation unpleasant. There was no introduction, and they referred to me simply as “you” throughout. They also seemed annoyed by my questions. Apart from that, the other staff were friendly.

    I had a great experience freezing my eggs and preserving my fertility here. Timing is very important during the process, and they always made time for me when needed. This included getting medication for me on a Sunday afternoon! Nurse Avery and Dr. Rapisarda took excellent care of me, and I would recommend their clinic to anyone.

    The nursing staff and Channing Burks Chatmon, MD, were wonderful. Every step went smoothly, with detailed instructions to ensure the best outcome. They went above and beyond to make sure I took all my medications throughout the cycle and followed up to ensure I was doing well after the procedure and in the following weeks. Dr. Burks also made time in her very busy schedule to address my husband's and my concerns. The result was our beautiful baby girl. I also worked with the staff and phlebotomists at the Hinsdale location, and they were wonderful too. First-class medical care.

    I cannot say enough wonderful things about FCI, especially Dr. Kaplan and his outstanding team! From the moment I walked in, the entire staff made me feel welcome and supported. The doctors were knowledgeable and compassionate and always took time to explain every step of the process. The nursing and administrative teams were equally amazing, ensuring that all my questions were answered and that I felt comfortable throughout my journey.     Do not rely on this clinic for local monitoring. My embryos are in New York, and I went to FCI for local monitoring this morning. They never sent the results, answered the phone, or responded to my messages. I just spoke with the on-call nurse, Ashley, who was extremely rude and dismissive. She told me the results had 'already' been faxed earlier. I asked whether she could resend them because my doctor had no reason to withhold my results and had actually called me twice out of concern. We needed to know whether I could increase my dose and add a new medication tomorrow. She actually hung up on me after saying she would call me back! She then called back and said she could send one result but not the other. She made me feel like a major inconvenience, as though she had more important things to do and the failure of my cycle was not her problem. Stay away.

    **Update - I called again on Tuesday. The manager was supposed to call me back that day, but still has not called two days later. This place takes your money and insurance and runs. I am truly disappointed with FCI. I had heard positive things and had few complaints during the egg-freezing process. As soon as my egg freezing was complete, I began having problems. They removed all my medical history and records of what I had frozen. When I called repeatedly to follow up, they told me I would need to fax a request and pay $50 to obtain that information. I left several voicemails asking to speak with a manager but never received a return call. They did, however, make sure to send me a bill for a late fee related to a Zoom appointment I had paid for. I would never recommend this practice. After such a stressful and important procedure, I do not believe this practice should be entrusted with these materials for women or their families.

    I had a wonderful experience at FCI with Dr. Burks and her nurse, Alyssa. I was impressed by how quickly I was seen and found all initial testing and consultation appointments very thorough. Once I began retrieval, monitoring appointments were easy to schedule; they open at 6:30 a.m., which is wonderful. Alyssa always called within a few hours to review medication instructions. The clinical team was always caring and gentle. Phlebotomy staff are the best!! You do need to be proactive and stay on top of the financial side. Even with a large deposit on file for my procedures, I received automated billing texts. Sometimes it was difficult to know exactly what I owed. After messaging the financial team, they clarified everything. I would absolutely return to FCI for future procedures. My care felt very personalized.

    This is a very helpful clinic. All staff, nurses, and physicians were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the cycle. In addition to our clinic experience, we recently had an unfortunate parking situation in which our car was accidentally towed from the downtown surgical center. The staff quickly resolved the problem and compensated us for the inconvenience. We greatly appreciate the clinic management team's prompt resolution and highly recommend this clinic for its excellent medical care.

    Terrible experience and very poor management. I repeatedly emailed and called the finance department for an itemized invoice for my employer reimbursement plan. They delayed for 6 months until my bill was about to go to collections. When I scheduled bloodwork and an ultrasound, they booked only one of the services, so I had to return a second time. FCI, get organized. Your patients do not need the added stress caused by your disorganization. I will not return and strongly recommend that other patients find another clinic.

    A very disappointing experience. Poor organization, terrible technology/patient portal, no follow-up or return calls after complaints, and no follow-up after a failed IUI. It has been three weeks.

    I am deeply disappointed by my experience with this clinic. After an IVF transfer that was already challenging due to inadequate guidance and minimal follow-up, I learned that the pregnancy was ectopic. I returned the next day for methotrexate treatment, yet despite three monitoring appointments and countless daily portal messages and voicemails, I received no follow-up for more than 10 days. I had been told that although my doctor was retiring, she would continue supervising my treatment because of my high-risk condition. Unfortunately, that supervision never occurred, leaving me without appropriate medical support during an extremely vulnerable and critical period. No patient should endure such physical and emotional pain without adequate care or communication. Transferring clinics was not only necessary but the best decision I could make.

    My experience was extremely frustrating, especially my communication with Ingrid in finance. Two months ago, I contacted FCI to schedule a consultation, but my husband's insurance had to be updated after he changed jobs. I was told Ingrid needed one week to verify the new insurance information before we could schedule. Despite repeated follow-ups, we received no update and could not schedule his consultation for two months. Ingrid had also previously given me three different billing estimates because she used the wrong treatment plan. It took weeks to receive the final version, which was still incorrect. I ultimately identified the billing error because my employer had to verify every charge before reimbursing me. For a fertility clinic where time is so precious, this level of disorganization and unresponsiveness is unacceptable.

    Dr. Sipe and his team are the most caring and considerate people we have encountered. After several failed attempts, we were initially nervous when we first met Dr. Sipe, but his kindness, care, warm welcome, and positive atmosphere made us feel he was the right person for the job. From day one, my wife and I smiled whenever we saw him and his team because we trusted him! We are delighted to announce that we successfully conceived and will welcome our first child in January 2026, all thanks to Dr. Sipe and his FCI team.     Today, August 5, 2025, I had an ultrasound and blood test, and I especially want to thank my ultrasound technician, Frannie! She was wonderful, warm, and friendly. She asked whether I wanted to insert the ultrasound probe myself or have her do it. She even told me the sizes of my follicles! She was so kind that I want her every time ❤️🫂💛🌻

    I am astonished to see so many five-star reviews for her. FCI is clearly working hard to repair its reputation, at least on Google. Do not be fooled. I became pregnant easily during my first IUI cycle at FCU, but I still have to say they are terrible. My body did its job—they did not. Words cannot describe how poor the communication is among providers, between providers and billing, and between providers and patients. They may be your best route to achieving your dream of pregnancy, but be prepared to fight them at every step to receive the care you need at the price you were quoted. Most importantly, if one department says something different from another, call to confirm and document everything. Everyone you speak with will give a different explanation, so keep your receipts, both literally and figuratively—they often try to charge you twice. To be clear, I do not believe this is the clinic staff's fault. The entire system fails to implement any consistent policies and reflects how little it truly cares about patients. I look forward to FCI responding to this review by telling me to contact their patient advocate. With all due respect, give me a break. You have not earned any of my respect.

    Do not waste your time. I recommend the team at Ova, near Michigan Avenue, who take responsibility for your care and administrative work. I could not reach FCI's clinical team, while its nonclinical and administrative staff were extremely unprofessional and predatory. They never sent me an invoice and referred me to collections two years later, leaving no option but to pay. Yet they still could not provide a bill. Jenny in billing promised to call back, but after 30 days I had to contact them again, with no resolution. Because of these questionable practices, I cannot recommend trusting them with your medical care.

    I had an excellent experience with FCI and Dr. Nguyen! During an emergency, Dr. Nguyen provided attentive care and made sure my husband and I stayed informed and reassured. Later, as our fertility doctor, he was caring, patiently answered all our questions, and even remembered our travel plans when scheduling treatment. We are thrilled to have conceived with his help! The entire FCI team, especially the Hinsdale team, was also extremely supportive and helpful throughout the process.

    Update: Northwestern Medical is far more professional and efficient than FCI. They did not brush us off and provided standard hormone supplements from the outset. After consulting other providers, we learned that starting these supplements immediately is standard practice. Other doctors questioned why our FCI doctor had not prescribed them initially. FCI feels like a game in which they delay as long as possible to extract more money. They pretend to need more information while we waste months or even years trusting them. Update: I received a letter from FCI threatening that if I posted about my experience, they would "harass and cyberbully me and take appropriate action." I have data and evidence showing their lack of involvement and urgency. The evidence shows that refusing to accept their boilerplate paperwork and obstacles eventually worked. Perhaps FCI will treat this as a personal attack, as they expect all their clients to do? They spent less time sending me a private threat than they spent on our first IUI treatment. Money is all they care about. Original review below, with names removed to protect the professionals' pride: This team is terrible. They show no urgency at any stage of the process. We had to push constantly to make any progress. I submitted an initial sample. They processed it in 4 days but did not give me feedback until I called two weeks later. Our insurance request was approved, and they said processing would take two weeks. Because timing was critical or we would lose another month, we pushed them to act immediately. They refused to expedite the paperwork until we spent 6 hours a day on the phone with them for two consecutive days. We had to force the FCI team to deliver the paperwork to the insurer themselves because they showed no urgency. They were unhappy that we would not give up, but we ultimately received approval. We proved it could be done and did not take two weeks. It required initiative, which this team lacks. Instead of doing their job, they terminated our relationship because we asked for the urgency every couple in our situation wants. After our first IUI failed, they ended our relationship, despite the treating doctor's high success rate. FCI staff showed no compassion for the stress and anxiety patients endure. They dismissed us simply because we asked them to do their jobs. The arrogance of the entire staff was unbelievable. We were not disrespectful to staff. We only asked your team to provide the services promised and the urgency every client in our situation wants. You terminated us because we proved you could do better, but you refused. Your team was challenged. We proved paperwork can be processed when there is urgency. We did our best to understand every step fully and follow your professional recommendations. I completely agree with earlier patients' reviews. Your nurses gave unclear instructions, so we asked them to explain. Does that make us disrespectful clients? We did not swear; we used common sense. Your team abandoned us simply because we challenged the status quo.

    For the past three years, Jaye has been part of my life, caring for me at both the Glenview and Vernon Hills offices. From the beginning, she greeted me with a smile and put me at ease. Her kindness, gentle humor, and genuine care made every visit comfortable and reassuring. Jaye always took time to listen and answer every question, especially when I needed extra reassurance and clarity. She has been a source of warmth and support throughout this journey. Our family is about to graduate from FCI. We are deeply grateful but also sad knowing we will no longer see her. We will miss her tremendously and wish she could remain part of our lives.

    I first visited FCI in 2019 for elective egg freezing. Unfortunately, the experience was unpleasant, and I did not want to return. Over time, I decided to give FCI another chance because I wanted to try IVF. I began IVF at FCI in 2023, and I am incredibly glad I did. This time, I chose Dr. Channing Burks. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Burks and her excellent team. I worked closely with Dr. Burks and her nurse Alyssa and cannot thank them enough. They listened to my needs, worked through problems with me, and, most importantly, truly understood me. I no longer felt like just a "number." Everyone at FCI made me feel welcome, hopeful, and exceptionally well cared for. The infertility journey is difficult, and mine was more complicated for several reasons. Dr. Burks always prioritized my health and safety and guided me through the entire process. She knew how deeply I wanted to become a mother and ensured that we did everything possible to achieve that goal. It was a long, difficult road, but I am now 41, in my second trimester, and pregnant with my first baby. Thank you to Dr. Burks, Alyssa, and everyone at FCI. You brought light even to the darkest days!

Dr. Kaplan consistently attended to my needs, and his team communicated very well. After two egg retrievals and two transfers, followed by the birth of my first child, I highly recommend FCI.

    Throughout my fertility treatment at FCI, my nurse Jaye Dvorack was truly my angel. She is compassionate, patient, gentle, and deeply caring. After every treatment or blood test, I received a same-day call with updated results, the next treatment steps, and patient answers to all my questions. Follow-up was always prompt and thoughtful, making the process smoother and more reassuring.     In short: I want to offer advice to those choosing a fertility specialist. Be prepared to be transferred among many nurses, receptionists, and call-center representatives. Advocate for time with your primary doctor and make sure your treatment moves forward properly, because FCI does not manage this well. I also encountered some cold and impatient healthcare staff. FCI appears overbooked, and service quality has suffered. I began care at FCI in August. So far, I have had two unsuccessful intrauterine inseminations (IUIs) and plan to begin in vitro fertilization (IVF) next cycle. Dr. Nguyen is my primary physician, but honestly, I have barely heard from him over the past five months. To be fair, he was on leave, but he did not continue supporting me as he had promised before leaving. After my second IUI failed, a nurse only called with the result and provided no other information. I was then told to schedule a temporary new-patient consultation with another doctor and saw Dr. Burks. I was emotionally low, frustrated, and deeply disappointed with the process. For months, I had been unable to reach a doctor and could communicate only with the nursing team, so I truly needed a thoughtful and understanding physician. However, Dr. Burks was 15 minutes late, seemed impatient with the appointment, and clearly had not reviewed my case. The visit wasted my time and money and left me more discouraged and upset. I understand that everyone has difficult or busy days, but as a healthcare professional, I sincerely hope staff can show more consideration to patients like me. I was told to wait until Dr. Nguyen returned in January and schedule another appointment. The scheduling team kindly informed me that he was fully booked until mid-January, so I had to take whatever date was available. I also want to say that the ultrasound technologists are excellent. They are friendly, kind, patient, and genuinely want my treatment to succeed. My blood-draw experiences have been mixed. Most recently, after waiting two weeks for the pregnancy test following my second IUI, I encountered an impatient technician who was upset because I had not gone to the correct waiting room, even though the front desk had told me where to sit. Again, as someone who works in healthcare, I sincerely hope staff can be more sensitive to patients’ feelings. I hope IVF succeeds and that FCI supports me better in the new year.

    I feel incredibly fortunate to be writing this while 9 weeks pregnant with our miracle baby, thanks to Dr. Nyugen and the entire team at FCI. Overall, my experience has been very positive. The waiting and frustrations we encountered were not a reflection of the practice, but rather the reality of the grueling infertility journey itself. What my husband and I appreciated most about Dr. Nyugen was how thorough he was and how thoughtfully he took our feedback and concerns into consideration as part of my care. I never once felt dismissed or unheard. Beyond Dr. Nyugen, the front desk staff and ultrasound technicians were all wonderful to work with: kind, professional, and supportive. While there are rotating nurses at times, that felt understandable and expected for a larger practice like FCI.     Rachel at FCOI River North is one of the best phlebotomists I have ever met! She was friendly and patient, answered all my questions, and made the entire process easy and comfortable.     FCI truly gave me the help I needed. Scheduling appointments was never difficult. I am very grateful to Dr. Nguyen and his team.     I highly recommend Dr. Hirschfeld-Cytron and her outstanding team. I first met her five years ago for an egg retrieval, and she has consistently provided exceptional expertise and compassionate care. I am now finally pregnant and extremely grateful to her. From the beginning, Dr. Hirschfeld-Cytron made me feel respected and cared for, not merely treated as an infertility case. She explains complex medical details in understandable language and truly listens to my concerns. Her support team is equally excellent.     Dr. Nguyen was so nice and knowledgeable! He made me feel at ease and calmed my anxiety about needing surgery to correct a defect in my uterus. The surgery went so well and my recovery time was so short and with minimal pain! Thank you Dr. Nguyen and his team.

    I am a CCRM NYC patient who had to travel to Chicago for a funeral in the middle of my cycle. CCRM also has a Chicago location, but because it was new, it did not accept outside patients on weekends, when I needed care. I scheduled with FCI, but when they saw the order came from CCRM NYC, they canceled because CCRM was a ‘competitor.’ I went to FCI in person and explained the situation to Season at the front desk: CCRM Chicago could not schedule me, and FCI had already booked me until learning I was a CCRM NYC patient. Season refused to schedule me, as did other FCI staff, even after my treating physician called to explain the unusual circumstances. I understand competition between fertility centers, but FCI's lack of empathy toward a mid-cycle patient who was in Chicago due to circumstances beyond her control was incomprehensible.

    Nurse Jaye was the best part of the whole journey at FCI, and I cannot thank her enough. She was so personable and empathetic - both when we were receiving good and bad news. After each appointment she called to break down results and make sure we felt informed. Jaye was my go to resource to survive the process and walked us through how to do all of the injections. She helped make everything less scary and overwhelming. I feel so lucky to have worked with Nurse Jaye and Dr. Hirshfeld at FCI! My husband and I would highly recommend FCI if you are considering fertility treatment. They run like a well oiled machine and have seen it all. Everyone was so kind and professional.

    I had an excellent experience at FCI River North. I am now 8 months pregnant and preparing to welcome my first baby, all thanks to Dr. Jennifer Hirshfeld-Cytron and her team. Dr. Hirshfeld is knowledgeable, professional, kind, and thoughtful. We were impressed by how closely she monitored each cycle and made adjustments when needed. I had many fears and concerns, but she patiently explained the entire process and presented several options, which reassured me. She thoughtfully accommodated my requests and made treatment as comfortable as possible. Her nursing team was also wonderful. I worked primarily with Alex, and she and the other nurses were kind, helpful, and patient in guiding me through everything. They listened during several unsuccessful cycles and ensured I understood every task, such as ordering medications. They also sent me a calendar with daily medication schedules, appointments, and follow-ups. Having blood drawn several times a week could be frightening, but the phlebotomy team made it much easier. I am especially grateful to Karina, Jennifer, and Samantha! I saw them so often that they felt like close friends, and they helped me tremendously. The ultrasound technicians were excellent as well. Thank you to FCI's outstanding team, especially Dr. Hirshfeld. Words cannot express how grateful I am that she helped us conceive our first child! Although it was a minor issue, I occasionally had difficulty with scheduling, communicating with the financial coordinator/team, and having prior authorizations sent to my pharmacy. Responses were sometimes slow, which may have caused delays and additional stress. FCI also has an excellent counselor whom they can refer you to if needed. The entire medical team involved in IVF retrievals, testing, and transfers—from nurses and assistants to embryologists and anesthesiologists—was outstanding. I was very nervous on every procedure day, but someone was always there to comfort and reassure me. Thank you all so much!

    This was a deeply disturbing, extremely unsafe, and terrible experience. Even the Better Business Bureau's D- rating seems generous. For privacy reasons I cannot provide details, but I want to warn others: the number and severity of the errors made while I was under their care were shocking.

    I had to visit this location because my usual location is closed on weekends. The staff were very friendly, and although I came only twice, the receptionist, Selma, remembered me and welcomed me with a smile.

    I am currently a patient here and this is my first fertility treatment. Unfortunately, it has not gone well. Dr. Go is kind, but there is no communication outside appointments. Only the nurses are available, and even they are not always online. I have had to leave several messages, and no one calls to explain laboratory results. I have to research them myself online. There also appears to be a serious communication gap between the finance and nursing teams. We were supposed to begin our first IUI cycle, but at the last minute we were told that my husband needed genetic screening, so we had to postpone for a month. This could have been addressed weeks earlier. In addition, because finance and nursing did not communicate, no one confirmed whether my husband could come to the clinic for testing. I had sent them his insurance information two weeks before the scheduled start of the IUI cycle. It has now been almost three weeks, and his test results still have not been updated. I have had to keep contacting them and now feel as though I am bothering them.

    I cannot say enough good things about my experience at FCI River North. From the moment I stepped into the prison, I could feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere, which was especially important during such a stressful time. I especially want to thank Montanna. She is absolutely the best nurse! She is always so welcoming and genuinely kind. No matter how busy the clinic is, she patiently and thoroughly answers every question I have.     I keep receiving the same bill even though I already paid it. I have called repeatedly, and they say it has been resolved, but the bills keep coming and now they are threatening collections. This clinic's paperwork is terrible. If you receive treatment here, you will have to struggle with the insurance company yourself. It took me six months to figure things out. They do not care whether you actually received your medication; you have to call the insurance company yourself to ask which costs are covered. I really liked my nurse, who always responded promptly. One phlebotomist was so skilled that I could not even feel the needle. I called in a panic about details no one had told me before, and thankfully the front desk helped resolve the issue. Both deserve five stars.

    Words cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Nguyen. From the moment I began my fertility journey, he did everything possible to support me through the complex and emotional challenges of endometriosis and adenomyosis. From the start, Dr. Nguyen demonstrated exceptional skill, sound judgment, and genuine compassion. He took time to truly understand my far-from-straightforward condition and developed a thoughtful, personalized treatment plan to give me the best chance of success. During treatment, Dr. Nguyen performed surgery, including a biopsy, to ensure we had the most accurate information before proceeding. He also guided me through two embryo transfers and developed several protocols tailored to my situation. At every step, he was meticulous, attentive, and committed, continually refining the plan to achieve the best possible outcome under difficult circumstances. What stands out most is not only his medical expertise but also his exceptional patient care. He never made me feel like just another patient or number. Even during the hardest moments, he remained patient, reassuring, and fully engaged. He explained everything clearly, answered every question, and made sure I felt supported and informed throughout. Endometriosis and adenomyosis can make fertility treatment stressful and uncertain, but Dr. Nguyen's strategy, persistence, and optimism were invaluable. I always felt that someone was truly advocating for the best outcome for me. I also want to thank his excellent team. His nurse Avery was consistently compassionate, responsive, patient, and genuinely caring. Over the past year and a half, every staff member and technician at the clinic was kind, supportive, and professional at each visit. Their warmth and attention to detail made this difficult journey much easier. After a long and challenging journey, I am incredibly grateful to say that I recently graduated from the clinic. It felt surreal, and it would not have been possible without the care of Dr. Nguyen and his team. If you are facing complex fertility issues, especially those related to endometriosis or adenomyosis, Dr. Nguyen is an outstanding choice. His dedication, knowledge, and compassion are remarkable. I am sincerely grateful to him and his team for their care and the profound impact they had on my journey.

    The team at the fci Glenview center was wonderful, especially phlebotomists Olja and Tarnia and technicians Natalie and Christina. I have a very difficult time with blood draws every time, and unfortunately I became pale during one visit. Although they do this every day, they were always very compassionate and caring. Several nurses also helped us and were truly wonderful—Amber, Kat, Ashley, Caitlin, and our primary nurse Alyssa, who is the best. Although she works at another location, she completely transformed our initially poor experience at the River North location. The weekend nurse whose name began with M and who called with results was also wonderful. We appreciate you!

    A life-changing experience from start to finish. During Covid in 2020, we received a physician referral and approval to begin a clinical trial. We had an outstanding nurse who consistently followed up through every delay and long wait for test results. In the end, we had our baby girl, who is now 3. Highly recommended to any family hoping to have a child.

    A nightmare. My phone number was entered incorrectly three times even after I corrected it, our insurance was mishandled, front desk staff discussed Facebook drama in front of patients, and the staff made us run in circles even to schedule an appointment. Staff do not communicate; it is disorganized and chaotic. I would not trust them to care for an 18-year-old, much less complete fertility treatment.

    This is my second IVF pregnancy through FCI, and this experience was far better than my previous one in 2023. If I had rated FCI in 2023, I would have given one star, only because I ultimately became pregnant, for which I am grateful. However, there was considerable unnecessary stress and poor communication that could have been avoided. Fast-forward to 2025: I decided to change doctors for my next transfer and chose Dr. Hobeika. From the initial consultation, I knew I had made the right choice. Before the appointment, he took time to review my chart and medical history so he arrived informed. He was thorough and informative, listened carefully, and answered all our questions. We never felt rushed or that our questions were foolish. We felt heard and well cared for. He even called personally to congratulate me after my positive beta result. I also want to recognize his nurse, Briana. Most communication throughout the process is with the nurse, so it is essential to have someone communicative, thorough, and responsive. Briana is all that and more. She responds very quickly, her instructions are always clear, and she readily clarifies anything I question. Briana made the entire process run smoothly, and I am very grateful. Finally, special thanks to the phlebotomists and ultrasound technicians at the Glenview location. I wish I remembered all their names, but right now I only recall Cristina. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and positive. I do not know whether management changed or they finally let go of some underperforming employees, but FCI's customer service has genuinely improved since my previous experience.

    I visited this clinic several times throughout treatment, and every visit was pleasant. Cristina, the ultrasound technician, was wonderful. She was calm and friendly and always took time to explain things, which truly eased the anxiety of monitoring appointments. Olja's blood-drawing skills were excellent—fast, gentle, and reliable—and I greatly appreciated that. Dr. Rogers was wonderful to work with. She was not only knowledgeable but also compassionate and genuinely supportive. Fertility treatment is not easy, but a team like this makes it much more manageable.     I am so grateful for the staff's warmth and hospitality. I have completed two cycles with them and will begin my third soon; they are truly wonderful! They always arrange appointments before work and are so efficient that I am never late. The women at reception are always warm and friendly. I must mention Olja and Salud in the laboratory, who were so gentle that I barely felt anything at my first visit! Nataly in ultrasound has been the absolute best so far! I was fortunate to have her for every appointment during my last cycle, even on weekends at the River North clinic. She is kind, efficient, and knowledgeable, and she gave me tremendous comfort.     We had an excellent experience at FCI Glenview thanks to the staff’s professionalism, attentiveness, and attention to detail. I underwent several IVF cycles and faced some difficulties, but we are now delighted to announce that our first baby is due in December. First, Heather at the front desk was always warm, friendly, and smiling. I requested Cristina for every ultrasound. She was friendly, kind, compassionate, and professional. Phlebotomists Olja and Salud were both excellent, and blood draws were always quick and painless. The staff kept us comfortable and informed, and appointments always ran on time. I will return in the future for our second baby! Thank you!!

    This team is terrible. They treat no part of the process with urgency. We had to stay on top of them constantly to make any progress. I provided the initial sample. They processed it within 4 days but did not provide feedback until I called two weeks later to push for the results. Our insurance authorization was approved, and they said it would take two weeks. Given our timeline, we pushed them to process it immediately, or we would lose another month. They refused to provide the paperwork until we spent 6 hours on the phone with them over two consecutive days. We had to force the FCI team to submit the documents directly to our insurer because they did not treat our request urgently. The FCI team was unhappy that we would not take no for an answer, but we ultimately received approval. We proved it was possible and did not take two weeks. It required initiative these employees lacked. Rather than step up and do their jobs, they dropped us as clients because we asked for the same urgency any couple in our situation would expect. After our first unsuccessful intrauterine insemination (IUI), they dropped us as clients, despite Dr. Sipe's high success rate. FCI staff have no empathy for the stress patients endure. They dropped us because we asked them to do their jobs well. The arrogance of the entire staff is unbelievable. To Megan Honke: We did not disrespect the staff. We simply asked your team to provide the services promised and show the urgency expected for clients in our situation. You dropped us because we proved you could do better, but you refused to. To Dr. Sipe: Your team was challenged to perform. We proved that paperwork can be processed when there is urgency. We did our best to understand every step fully and follow your professional recommendations. I agree with comments from previous patients: your nurses' instructions are unclear, so we asked them to explain. Does that make us disrespectful clients? We did not swear; we simply used common sense. Your team dismissed us solely because we challenged the status quo.

    Natalie was very welcoming and made me feel completely at ease during my daily ultrasound visits! That is not easy, but a familiar, warm face makes everything easier and less nerve-racking. She knows what she is doing and was able to reassure me during appointments, which again eased my anxiety. The lab staff were also wonderful. I dealt with Olja and Salud almost every day, and they were punctual, efficient, and friendly. The front desk staff were also very friendly and welcoming, making me feel at home. Overall, the staff made the entire process easier and more pleasant, and I am very grateful for their support and help!

    My consultation with Dr. Nani was very rushed. She seemed completely unprepared, made an inaccurate assessment of my medical history, and made an unprofessionally worded comment about my family history. I planned to try another doctor, but the subsequent paperwork suggested significant miscommunication on their side. They also asked my doctor to fax my medical records, then claimed they never received them. First, they said they had given me the wrong fax number; then they said the number was valid but routed to a different location. When I asked whether they could access that fax number, they again said they had never received my records. After multiple communications, it became clear that they were unconcerned about losing my protected health information (PHI). I will file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding a possible Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) violation. This clinic is disorganized, its patient portal is difficult to use, and Dr. Nani's professionalism is questionable. I do not recommend this clinic.

    We are on a long fertility journey and have been very pleased with Dr. Matevossian. She always explains things in clear, easy-to-understand terms and has a warm manner. She does not pressure us into any decision and strongly supports our choice of the initial plan that best suits us, while of course including her medical recommendations. The fertility journey is long and challenging. Part of it involves visiting the clinic 3-4 times each month for ultrasounds and laboratory tests.     During my treatment with FCI, the Glenview clinic was my primary location. It is clean, has modern facilities and parking, and offers appointments outside regular business hours. The staff are wonderful! The ultrasound technicians, especially Natalie and Christina, are professional, efficient, and kind. When multiple miscarriages were discovered, they shared the sad news with my partner and me compassionately, thoughtfully, and respectfully. When they found a healthy pregnancy, they were genuinely delighted for us. It felt as though they supported us at every step of our fertility journey. The phlebotomy staff, especially Angel, were also excellent—fast and nearly painless. The front desk staff were always warm and efficient during check-in. Infertility is an emotionally challenging journey, and the healthcare system is not perfect. You must advocate for yourself, but that is true of any healthcare experience. I found that with some patience, kindness, and understanding, this clinic always met my needs. Highly recommended! I am updating this review to add my experience working with Dr. Rodgers at FCI to conceive our second child. As before, everyone at the clinic was extremely kind, and I highly recommend both the clinic and Dr. Rodgers! We conceived our second child after just one frozen embryo transfer, thanks to the treatment plan Dr. Rodgers developed—the same plan that helped us succeed on our first attempt previously.     It took me two years to write this review because the experience left me furious and shocked. Here is the short version of my care with Dr. Martini in Washington, D.C. I came to CCRM for unexplained infertility and usually saw Dr. Martini. We submitted all records, including my husband's initial test results, and no concerns were raised. After years of treatment, multiple egg retrievals, and failed embryo transfers, she suggested that my husband be evaluated for a varicocele, a common, treatable vascular condition associated with infertility. We told them he had been diagnosed 15 years earlier, but no one had asked. Only then did she say his initial results showed sperm morphology of 3, below the normal range of 4-14 and a clear warning sign. They finally referred us to a urologist. He underwent a minor procedure to correct the varicocele, and we conceived naturally on our first attempt. When I begged Dr. Martini for an explanation, the response was, “Well, you might have needed IVF eventually anyway.” That missed the point, and we ultimately did not need IVF. His urologist could not understand why we had not been referred initially and called us a textbook case for seeing a urologist first. Of course, an early referral would have meant the clinic did not receive the tens of thousands of dollars we spent on treatments, procedures, supplements, and ineffective extra injections. Worse, this week we learned that, contrary to what we had been told and despite his condition, an embryo had remained frozen with my eggs. We learned this only after three years. I honestly even question whether it is ours. I appreciate that IVF helps people who need it, but the negligence, carelessness, and manipulation I experienced made this one of the worst experiences of my life.

I initially came only for outside monitoring, but Nataly, Olja, and Heather were so kind and professional that I decided to switch clinics. Heather greets me by name every time. Nataly and Olja patiently explain every step. Dr. Rogers truly listened during my consultation, and Joy showed great patience and optimism while coordinating medications with my pharmacist. The personalized experience and treatment plan are excellent. I cannot wait to start my cycle with Dr. Rogers—she is outstanding, and I am confident I will have a good outcome.

    I highly recommend FCI and the Glenview location in particular to anyone seeking help with fertility. Dr. Rodgers was wonderful to work with. She always made time for us, provided personalized care, carefully explained every step of the process, and even personally made sure we got test results back in time when there was a delay. Although my procedures were usually with other doctors in the practice, there was always exceptional continuity of care. Nurse Morgan provided expedient communication through the portal - something I appreciate even more now that I am back with a standard medical practice.     One star. I arrived for my appointment, but the referral listed a reproductive evaluation rather than semen analysis. Even though I arrived early and the referral was correct, they made me reschedule. I offered to self-pay, but they refused. Completely absurd and terrible service. Update: Go to Davis Fertility Center across the street. They are the best. We had a beautiful son within a year, and the care was flawless from start to finish. Five stars!

    I am very grateful for the attentive care I received at FCI Glenview. Fabiana and Lindsey at the front desk were always warm and friendly. Whether greeting me in person or scheduling an appointment by phone, they were consistently kind and helpful. Olja handled my blood draws. She was highly skilled and efficient. Blood draws are one of the hardest parts of infertility treatment, but Olja was gentle and considerate. She celebrated every step of my progress, which meant a great deal to me.     We had an excellent experience at FCI Glenview. As both a patient and a professional working in perinatal mental health, I highly recommend Dr. Rodgers and her team. Dr. Rodgers is not only highly skilled but also very patient and approachable, and she always encouraged and supported us.     I feel comfortable every time I come here. Everything runs smoothly. The women at the front desk are always welcoming, friendly, and helpful.     The lab staff, doctors, and nurses are all very kind. This is a large company, so some aspects feel impersonal, which is to be expected. The most difficult part of working with FCI was the administration—there seems to be poor communication between the clinical and financial departments. I learned that my IUI had failed because I received an updated bill for the next cycle long before a nurse or doctor contacted me with the result. I did not want to find out that I was not pregnant through a bill. The financial department also kept passing responsibility back and forth over which charges I owed, and my insurance did not receive claims promptly—I had to repeatedly ask them to bill my insurer. After my credit card was charged, I could not view an itemized statement unless I sent a portal message and waited several days for a complete account ledger. Even after they charged my card, I sometimes received paper bills and text reminders for balances that had already been paid. Overall, I would gladly recommend the providers and doctors themselves because they are excellent, especially the nurses who perform blood tests and ultrasounds, but the organization’s billing and administrative experience was poor.

    The IVF journey can be very stressful. Having the right people care for and support you can greatly strengthen your motivation.     We truly cannot say enough good things about FCI and everyone there. We were IVF patients with a complicated case of unexplained infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. Our doctors (Dr Rapisarda, now retired, and Dr Rodgers) never gave up on us. They are both so knowledgable, and were willing to try new/different things if something wasn’t working - we were treated like individuals, not just given a cookie cutter treatment plan. And all of the doctors at FCI (including Dr Rapisarda & Dr Rodgers) are also very skilled with procedures - they were always less painful and had a shorter recovery time than I expected. All of the nurses (shoutout to Morgan and Kellie, our primary nurses!) are very knowledgable, responsive, and caring. They take the time to explain things and answer any questions you might have. We primarily went to the Glenview location. Both ultrasound techs, Cristina & Nataly, are so wonderful. They make you feel at ease and like you’re with a friend during what could otherwise be an uncomfortable situation. Olja the phlebotomist is so great; I always enjoyed chatting with her during my blood draws. One of the great things about FCI is that because they’re a large practice with a lot of locations, we didn’t have to put off procedures or appts because of scheduling - we got to do things on my body’s timeline, not someone else’s. We genuinely felt like everyone at FCI was hoping for the best for us, and that we weren’t just a number, and it’s not just a job to them. Everyone at FCI, from the front desk to the doctors, and everyone in between, was able to ‘read the room’ - always pleasant and holding hope for you, but also understanding and sympathetic on the days when the news wasn’t as good. We are so grateful to everyone at FCI for helping us on our journey to expand our family!

    I had a terrible encounter with nurse Shantel Davis. When my period began, I tried to schedule an appointment through the patient portal, called them, and emailed the nurse directly. I received no response or assistance. I finally reached them on December 30, 2021. From the beginning of our conversation, Shantel was combative and aggressive. I understand it was the holiday season and people take time off, but there was no need to be aggressive toward a patient. I explained my situation and difficulties to Shantel, and she replied, “I know what you have been through; I went through the same thing.” Her response was hostile and lacked empathy. I would not recommend this clinic because of its lack of professionalism and compassion for patients.

    This clinic does not care about its patients. Many of our friends came here and had to seek help elsewhere, just as we did. The staff tell you, “No news is good news,” but when there is bad news like we experienced, they do not follow up. They also told me to visit additional labs that the doctor said were unnecessary, so their requirements are confusing. We raised our concerns with the doctor, who said he had “followed up” with the office manager we asked to contact us, but the office manager never did. Again, there is no commitment to patients. In addition, the male fertility doctor told me to take medication and return in 30 days. It has been almost 30 days, and despite two follow-ups, he still has not sent the prescription to the pharmacy. Do not seek fertility care from this practice!

    Their operations and systems are a joke. The coordinator has not answered calls for weeks or returned calls to our primary care provider, further delaying care that was already delayed. No one seems to understand their computer system. During our last visit, a doctor was reviewing data from 3 blood tests earlier and prescribing based on it, even though the current data were very different. This has been a terrible experience. We have to undergo IVF, and no one at FCI seems to care about their patients.

    I was recently a patient at FCI. I began hopeful but ended disappointed and heartbroken. My husband and I had tried for nearly two years without success. When my obstetrician suggested treatment, I requested a list of recommended offices, and this was at the top. My husband had already completed some testing there, so continuing my testing and treatment at the same office made sense. However, there were many red flags from the first appointment. For my consultation about recommended tests, they sent the check-in link to my husband instead of me, then treated my inability to complete it as a major inconvenience even though they had never sent it to me. When my husband said he had completed it two hours before the visit and we should be checked in, receptionist Karen was clearly displeased. After confirming that they had my correct phone number but sent it to the wrong person, she curtly had me complete another form and wait. During the consultation, I felt very anxious about some recommended tests. I understood they were necessary for answers, but I did not have to be thrilled about becoming a human laboratory rat. When I seemed uncertain, the doctor said, “You know you have to carry and deliver the child, right?” This was unnecessary and unprofessional. I never refused testing; I was nervous because it was an emotionally intense, stressful experience and expected the medical team to understand. I was wrong. Each return visit for testing was worse. I am very anxious about blood draws because they make me nauseated—not because I cannot complete them, but because I become lightheaded. When I told the phlebotomist, she said, “You need to get used to it because you will be stuck many times.” That is not what I expect a professional to tell someone who may vomit or faint, but we proceeded. When I returned for a saline ultrasound, I did not realize a student would perform it until she was already in the room examining me. Initially I was comfortable with her work, but she could not properly use or remove the speculum and pushed and squeezed it into positions that made the normal cramping much worse. By then, I did not think asking her to stop would go smoothly. Perhaps that was my mistake. At the treatment consultation, the doctor recommended Clomid IUI and said it was too late to start that month, so I should call on day one of my next cycle to schedule. I did. I called on the first day and spoke with Karen and Lynn at the front desk to request an IUI appointment. They had no idea what type of appointment I needed, despite having my chart in front of them, and the available treatment times were completely unrealistic. They said the only opening was 10:15 a.m. Monday or Tuesday. How is that realistic? People work. When I asked, Lynn curtly replied, “I do not know what to tell you, but they know.” Soon after that call, I requested my records and left two voicemails for the office manager, but heard nothing. This office is completely unprofessional, and I would not recommend any FCI location.

    Dr. Uhler truly changed our lives! When we met her, we had been trying to conceive for more than three years. I had left another fertility clinic and felt completely hopeless. Dr. Uhler was honest yet hopeful and very kind, which gave me hope again. She guided us through every part of the process and answered our simplest and most complex questions. The entire staff was kind and patient. After 5 years, we were pregnant. They had to tell me twice because I could not believe it. When my daughter was born and I held her, I thought about all the stress and heartbreak and how worthwhile it was. I also thought of Dr. Uhler and the staff, who stood beside us through every high and low. 2.5 years later, we have a spirited child who keeps us busy and guessing. On long days, I remember how I waited for her and thank God for FCI and the miracle they gave me.

    We had a great experience at FCI Hinsdale! I could always schedule appointments around work, especially during every-other-day blood tests and ultrasounds. Karen and Lynn at the front desk always made me feel welcome and eased my appointment anxiety. Iyeshia is an amazing phlebotomist who made frequent blood draws easy, especially for someone who struggled with them in the past. The ultrasound technicians were helpful and knowledgeable.     After I was diagnosed with PCOS, my husband and I began working with FCI to explore our options for pregnancy. Dr. Sipe gave us a very clear plan. Once submitted, the financial coordination team handles authorization. Although we were assigned a contact, these employees seemed to leave the clinic frequently. I was passed among many people and never received a direct answer or a returned call. We were assigned a nurse who communicated all steps through the portal. Our assigned nurse, Selena, stayed with us throughout and responded promptly. However, her answers were very generic and did not appear tailored to my treatment plan. I had to reply for clarification about what to do next to ensure we followed the correct steps. It is frustrating when a nurse does not seem to review your chart before responding, especially because fertility treatment is so time-sensitive and medication-specific. The bloodwork and ultrasound staff at the Chicago Kingsbury clinic were friendly, prompt, and efficient. We enjoyed working with those nurses and technicians. We may choose a different fertility clinic for our next child.

    I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Sipe and his team! From Karen and Lynn at the front desk to the thoughtful, gentle ultrasound technicians Erica and Stacy, everyone is wonderful. It is always a pleasure to see them at the Chicago clinic too. Nurses Danielle and Lexie provide friendly, welcoming, and responsive care. I felt that all these women showed genuine compassion during such a personal journey.

    This team is terrible. They treat no part of the process with urgency. We had to follow every step closely to make any progress. I provided the initial sample. They processed it within 4 days but gave us no feedback until I called two weeks later to request the results. Our insurance application was approved, and they said processing would take two weeks. Given our schedule, we pressed them to handle it immediately or lose another month. They refused to provide the paperwork until we spent 6 hours on calls over two consecutive days. We had to force the FCI team to submit the documents directly to our insurer because they did not treat the matter urgently. They were unhappy that we would not accept no, but approval was ultimately obtained. We proved it was possible and did not require two weeks; it simply required initiative their staff lacked. Instead of improving and doing their jobs, they dismissed us as clients because we expected the same urgency as every couple in our situation. They dismissed us after our first unsuccessful IUI attempt, despite Dr. Sipe’s high success rate. FCI staff have no empathy for the stress patients endure. They dropped us because we expected them to perform well. The arrogance of the entire staff is unbelievable. To Megan Honke: We did not disrespect the staff. We asked your team to provide the services promised and show the urgency every client in our situation deserves. You dismissed us because we proved you could do better but refused to do so. To Dr. Sipe: Your team was challenged to perform well. We proved that paperwork can be processed promptly when there is urgency. We did everything possible to understand every step and follow your professional recommendations. I agree with former patients that your nurses’ instructions are unclear, so we asked for clarification. Does that make us disrespectful clients? We did not swear; we used common sense. Your team dismissed us simply because we challenged the status quo.

    My experience at FCI Hinsdale was truly wonderful. Fertility problems are complex and stressful, but everyone at FCI did everything possible to make the journey as easy and pleasant as possible. The nurses and front desk team were always welcoming, helpful, and supportive. Dr. Sipe is exceptional, exactly the kind of doctor you need during fertility treatment. I greatly appreciated his honesty and directness, along with his kindness and sense of humor. He was always willing to answer questions or address concerns, which meant a great deal to me. Dr. Sipe gave my husband and me a clear path that ultimately led to our healthy baby boy. Fertility challenges are never easy, but if you are on this journey, I strongly recommend FCI Hinsdale. We are extremely grateful to Dr. Sipe and the entire team for helping bring our son into the world.

    I don't recommend FCI. They treated us like we were just a number. the treatments are cold and sterile and they are not sensitive to how traumatic and urgent this is for you. and they don't care if their plans line up with the timing of your cycles. If you're looking for treatment around this are, I recommend that you go to Advanced Fertility Centers of Chicago in Downers Grove or try North Western.

    At a low point in my fertility journey, I finally came to FCI. I had already been to two clinics, experienced multiple miscarriages and failures, and even traveled out of state. I told myself I would try once more close to home. Everyone at FCI welcomed me warmly, from the gentle greetings from Karen and Lynn—and now Sy, who is always cheerful and kind—at every visit, to Lisa R.'s familiar face, to the attentive care I received during my procedures in Chicago. Everyone made me feel that they were cheering me on!     I had an appointment with Dr. Christopher Shipp, and overall the experience was very good. He clearly explained the next steps, answered my questions, and made me feel comfortable with the fertility plan he proposed. I therefore decided to continue treatment with him. However, I initially felt somewhat uncomfortable because of the language barrier. Although the doctor speaks Spanish, the consultation began in English, and when I asked to continue in Spanish, I sensed that he was uncomfortable. He also commented that I had lived in the United States for so long without speaking English. This was the only part of the visit that made me uncomfortable. I appreciate his professionalism and the information he provided. During such sensitive treatment, I believe it is essential for patients to feel respected and comfortable communicating in their own language.

    The care team and finance department communicated poorly. Finance never told me I had to provide proof of continued COBRA coverage before the cycle began, even though coverage had already been approved. Being told to stop after starting, despite having insurance, was devastating. Fortunately, the insurance issue was eventually resolved, and the nurses were very kind. The phlebotomists in Hinsdale are excellent, especially Ayeesha, who is patient and kind.

    If you are a woman feeling nervous about the IVF journey, find the courage to go to FCI—they will take excellent care of you. I have never experienced such attentive care. Fertility treatment can be frightening, but knowing that my husband and I were in such capable hands reassured us at every stage. We will miss Karen and Sayeda, who kept the clinic running smoothly and efficiently. Their smiles and caring words always comforted me when I needed it most. I loved having my ultrasounds with Stacy, who was always enthusiastic, warm, and helpful. There were several other wonderful clinicians whose names I unfortunately cannot remember. I am very grateful to all the highly skilled nurses, including Brittany, Natalie, and Jessie. They never made me feel that I asked too many questions, even though I had many! They kept me informed about my progress and helped us feel confident about treatment each week. I also wish I could remember the phlebotomist's name because she was excellent and kept everything running smoothly. The embryologists were very kind and highly skilled. Finally, special thanks to Dr. Uhler and Dr. Nani. They are extremely knowledgeable, careful, and thorough. I am very grateful that my acupuncturist recommended this clinic. FCI made my dream of becoming a mother a reality. My husband and I are deeply grateful and look forward to working with them again because this is truly a place we trust.

    I underwent three embryo transfers at Fertility Centers of Illinois (FCI) in Hinsdale, Illinois, beginning July 1, 2024. It was a long journey—the first transfer, a medicated cycle, failed; the second resulted in an ectopic pregnancy; and the third fortunately resulted in a twin pregnancy. After about one year and eight months of treatment at FCI, I am now being referred to my OB-GYN for ongoing twin pregnancy care. I especially want to thank Dr. Uhler. She is attentive, thoughtful, and highly skilled. She followed up promptly after important milestones and showed genuine care throughout the process. Her care made a tremendous difference in my journey. My first transfer was handled by Dr. Sipe, but my experience was very different from my experience with Dr. Uhler. Communication was difficult, and I found him hard to reach. Although a natural cycle was an option and personally felt easier for me to manage, I was strongly advised to use a medicated cycle. The front desk staff, including Karan and Seyeda, were very kind and supportive. I recommend scheduling early because they see many patients, many of whom are facing emotional challenges. Being proactive about appointments can improve response times. Erica, who performed my ultrasounds, was gentle and patient and always willing to answer my questions, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, my experience improved significantly after changing doctors. I believe FCI has strong clinical capabilities and continues to improve its customer service. However, your experience may vary depending on the doctor and care team you see.

    My experience at the Hinsdale clinic was extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable. I drove 30 minutes to my appointment and arrived early, only to be turned away immediately because I had my child with me. My appointment was canceled on the spot. No one had ever told me that children were not allowed, whether during booking, confirmation, or any advance reminder. This is not a minor detail. It is essential information that directly affects whether patients can attend their appointments. This total lack of communication is unacceptable. Worse, the clinic was empty, yet they offered no solution or accommodation. They simply said I would need a new referral to reschedule, wasting my time and delaying an already time-sensitive treatment process. Fertility treatment is not casual. It requires precise timing, coordination, and emotional investment. The clinic's lack of empathy, flexibility, and basic communication is deeply concerning. This experience seriously undermined my expectations of their care and professionalism. Proper communication could easily have prevented all of this. Patients deserve better.

    I had a consultation there and personally witnessed the nurses and front desk staff treat another patient very poorly simply because the patient had not clicked a check-in link sent only an hour earlier. The doctor was acceptable, but when I tried to tell her what happened at the front desk, she waved me off. While my husband and I waited in the room for further consultation, we saw another patient's health information left on the table. This was a serious HIPAA violation.

    I would give zero stars if I could. After a full year of unnecessarily stressful treatment, I finally transferred to another clinic. With my new doctor's help, I realized I had been misled into believing I was in premature menopause and that donor eggs were my only option. Today, exactly one year after learning that one embryo was genetically abnormal and nonviable, I discovered that FCI is still charging me to freeze that embryo because they never sent the embryo disposal forms for me to sign. I thought they could not cause me any more trauma! If you are seeking fertility treatment, I strongly recommend consulting several clinics and obtaining a second or even third opinion. FCI's policies are designed to improve its statistics, not to provide the care you truly need.

    We thank Dr. Uhler, Nurse Selena, and FCI for giving us our miracle baby! Our state had only one fertility clinic covered by insurance. After one failed IVF cycle, that clinic insisted on donor eggs and refused to change its medication protocol. Dr. Uhler truly listened to us instead of focusing only on our low chances. After a cycle had to be canceled because of poor ovarian response, she simply said, ‘That did not work; we will try something else.’ She understands both the science and art of fertility treatment, and our second IVF cycle gave us our perfect baby boy! FCI coordinated monitoring and laboratory work with an OB-GYN clinic 200 miles from Chicago, so we only traveled to Chicago for egg retrieval and embryo transfer. If you want a second opinion, I highly recommend trying FCI even if you are not in the Chicago area. We are so glad we did!

    Dealing with this company was a nightmare. I called 10 times trying to obtain my test results after 6 weeks, although they said they would be available after 3 weeks. No one checks voicemail or returns calls, so do not bother leaving a message. They also introduced a new policy under which the only way to receive results is through a nurse's call, but they did not explain the process or contact me to schedule it until I called more than 10 times. The only reason I gave 1 star is that the staff are friendly, but unfortunately no one seems to know what is happening administratively. I will not return and do not recommend this company.

They make you feel like family every time you visit. Riddhi is the most amazing phlebotomist I have ever met. I never bruised after a blood draw, and it was almost painless. Lisa R. was excellent during every ultrasound. She explained everything she saw, which helped calm my nerves. I learned so much during my journey! They treated me with compassion and care and took time to understand me. I am transferring to another clinic for reasons unrelated to their care, but before leaving I had to thank them for helping me through this challenging year.

    I appreciate how responsive and kind the Hoffman receptionists are. My doctor is not out of this location but this location is the closest to my house so I do all of my lab work/ultrasounds here and the team here is on-time and efficient and it has been much appreciated since no one really "wants" to be at a fertility clinic so it makes it the best experience it can possibly be! Vita has been a wonderful ultrasonographer over the last couple of years I’ve been at the clinic and always takes time to explain to me what she’s seeing on the screen, answer any questions I have, and is so friendly.

My IVF journey began in early 2022, and even at my most recent appointment this morning, Nora welcomed me with a smile, knew my name, made me feel completely comfortable, and genuinely showed that she was rooting for my success.     The Hoffman Estates location makes me feel like I am welcomed as soon as I enter through the doors. The receptionists greet me with a friendly smile. The ultrasound technician Vita is professional and puts me at ease during my appointments. She makes me feel comfortable and answers my questions thoroughly.     Update: Northwestern Medical is by far more professional and competent. They did not give us the run around & they provided proper standard hormone supplements from the start. Once we branched out a consulted a few more places we found providing these supplements from the start is standard practice. Every other doctor questioned why our past physician at FCI would not provide this from start. With FCI it’s a game of how long they can string you along and milk you for more $. They act like they need more information while in the mean time you lose months or even years believing them. Update: I was sent a letter from FCI threatening me “harassment and cyberbullying and will be responded to accordingly” for posting my experience. I have the data and evidence to show their lack of engagement & urgency. Evidence that our not accepting their standard paper pushing experience and challenges actually worked. Hopefully FCI has taken this personally like all of their clients do?? It took them a fraction of the time to threaten me with a personal letter than it took to get our first IUI treatment. Their only urgency is $. Original post below with names removed to not hurt the professionals’ feelings/egos: This team was horrible. They did not show any type of urgency for any part of the process. We had to push every inch of the way in order to get any progress. I provided an initial specimen sample. But we did get approval. We proved it was possible and did not take 2 weeks. It took initiative that this staff does not carry. Instead of stepping up and doing their job they dropped us as a client. Because we demanded to be treated with the urgency that every single couple in our situation has. We were unsuccessful in our 1 attempt at IUI to get pregnant when they dropped us as a client. Even thou the head Dr. gave a high level of success. The FCI staff has zero compassion for the stress and pressure we patients endure. They dropped us because we demanded them to perform. The arrogancy at which their entire staff operated was unbelievable. We were not disrespectful to the staff. We just demanded the service your team promised. We demanded to be shown the urgency that all clients in our position have. You dropped us because we proved you can do better, but refuse to. Your team was challenged to perform. We proved paper work can get processed when urgency is shown. We are trying our best to make sure we understand completely each step and do each and every process per your professional recommendation. I can echo some of the other comments by your previous patients. Your nurses are not clear in directions. So we pushed to clarity. Does this makes us a disrespectful client? We did not use profanity we used common sense. Just because we challenged the status quo your team dropped us.

    This experience was emotional and difficult, but the women here made everything easier. I was fortunate to have Riddi complete my laboratory work. She was always gentle and considerate. Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Vita. I was very nervous about the process, but her kind voice calmed me. She explained everything and lifted my spirits. She has such a calming presence. I am very grateful for today's appointment. I expected discomfort, but instead it was an excellent and informative experience.

    It was a difficult but wonderful journey. After every appointment, the staff reassured me and answered all my questions. They are an excellent team, and I am very grateful that they helped my husband and me build our family. I will definitely return in a few years, but for now I am enjoying my pregnancy.     I visited the Hoffman Estates location and am writing this because I wish I had known these things before spending my time and money. First, the building itself is old, worn, and dusty, with dated carpeting. I once thought this did not matter, but experience has taught me it is a warning sign. The hallway restroom was dirty and looked like it belonged in the 1980s. The clinic itself was clean and newer. The doctor I met was polite but very mechanical and rigid about the process. I was disappointed by her inflexibility regarding pain management. I previously had an extremely painful hysterosalpingogram, so I wanted anesthesia for this procedure. This is not unusual, but she refused and suggested trying it first to see how it went. After being persuaded, I went home, considered it carefully, and decided I would not proceed without anesthesia. I also concluded that I did not want to continue paying a facility that did not prioritize women's pain. If a woman reports pain during a hysterosalpingogram (HSG), anesthesia should absolutely be an available option. I contacted several other clinics, and the first one I called offered anesthesia, so I chose them. My new fertility doctor also said he often hears women describe extremely painful HSG experiences, which is why his clinic offers anesthesia. Everything at Fertility Centers of Illinois also felt disorganized. If you schedule an appointment, they ask you to call and remind the nurse. Even the billing specialist could not provide an accurate cost estimate, and you had to contact her rather than the other way around. By contrast, my new clinic schedules appointments, sends text and email reminders, and offers telehealth. They also send costs and payment links by text and email. I am sharing this because I wish I had known before wasting time and money. One call to another clinic revealed a completely different experience. You do not need to settle for a disorganized place that dismisses your pain. Make a few calls; better options exist. One more point: I did not learn until my appointment that the Hoffman Estates location performs some minor procedures, but later treatment, including IVF, requires travel to Chicago.

    FCI Hoffman is amazing! I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Burks and her entire team. Her nurse Maddie is highly knowledgeable and thoughtful and patiently answered every question I asked. With the help of the FCI staff, every early-morning appointment was easy and pleasant. Infertility is a difficult time, but FCI Hoffman Estates and Dr. Burks's team made it much easier.

My doctor developed an effective treatment plan tailored to me, and the nurse who worked with me almost daily over the past year, Alyssa at the River North office, was outstanding. My home office is in Hoffman Estates, and I am extremely pleased with its warm, comfortable atmosphere. The front desk staff always remember my name, and I have never had a problem reaching them by phone or scheduling an appointment—there is always availability when I need it. Riddhi, the on-site phlebotomist, and Vita, the ultrasound technician, are truly the best. The rotating clinical staff are also excellent and manage everything well when other staff are absent or working at another office. I feel very fortunate to have gone through this long, difficult, and challenging treatment process at a top clinic with an exceptional team.

    My wife and I have been very dissatisfied with this clinic. 1) We had to change doctors because of inadequate communication about appointments, scheduling, and other matters. The doctor and her nurse gave conflicting information, and they always rushed through explanations when we asked questions. 2) They repeatedly made billing errors and overcharged us, even though we had more than $500 in cash credits. These were IUI charges paid after insurance reimbursement. 3) The nurse who performed my wife's unsuccessful IUI had an extremely poor attitude. While carrying out the procedure, she told my visibly anxious wife, "Relax, breathe, relax again. I don't know how else to speak to you!" This was extremely unprofessional!!! 4) We missed a month of IUI because they failed to submit the insurance preauthorization request as we had asked. 5) The following month, last week, my wife called when her period began and left a message Friday morning to schedule bloodwork and an ultrasound. The Hoffman office never called back!!! We therefore had to wait through the weekend and may have to skip IUI again this month because of them. Do they not understand that these matters are urgent, especially when they are closed on weekends? We transferred to the Vernon Hills office and doctor and hope our path to pregnancy will go more smoothly. The process is already stressful enough without dealing with staff who lack empathy, understanding, and a sense of urgency.

    Overall, I am about 75% satisfied with FCI. Most of the clinical staff are warm and attentive, though a few are not. My favorite is Nora at the front desk/scheduling. She is compassionate, organized, quickly understands the issue, and has a positive attitude. My biggest problem is their outsourced billing and financial counseling staff. They seem to cut corners while acting as though they are doing everything possible. In less than a year, I had at least four financial counselors. The first three were hard to reach and communicate with, and getting a return call took tremendous effort. One was extremely rude. The fourth was at least friendly and proactively called and messaged me, but she failed to process my new insurance, delaying our next IVF cycle by a month. I am already in my forties and do not have time to lose. As another reviewer said, having major procedures such as egg retrievals and embryo transfers in Chicago is inconvenient if you would prefer to have them in Hoffman Estates. I was also uncomfortable that suburban residents nearly an hour from Chicago were asked to transport/provide a fresh semen sample and then wait another half hour for the egg/sperm procedure, while being told this was fine. Most fertility specialists advise that sperm survive outside the body for no more than an hour. We are both in our forties, and I think they should be more understanding of our desire for the freshest possible sample. They also need to reconsider their embryo transfer process. They tell you to drink plenty of water, not urinate before arriving, and bring a large bottle of water to drink at the clinic because a full bladder helps them see the uterus by ultrasound. They also ask you to arrive half an hour early. I live about an hour from the Chicago embryo transfer center, depending on traffic, near Hoffman Estates. Holding a full bladder for an hour and a half, combined with leaking vaginal progesterone tablets and an extremely cold operating room that increased the urge to urinate, was very uncomfortable. At first, the nurse was understanding and let me urinate and drink more water. Half an hour later, the ultrasound technician confirmed that my bladder was full, but I then waited another half hour for the other staff to arrive. By then my bladder was painfully full and I was nearly leaking urine. The nurse's subsequent “talk” and attitude were very unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. She made me feel that being unable to hold my urine was my fault. Her other comments were humiliating while I was without pants, cold, and vulnerable. It was completely unnecessary. They could have let me urinate on arrival, drink a liter of water, and perform the transfer half an hour later, avoiding this situation.

    Words cannot express how grateful I am for this fertility clinic. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for. Every check-in began a positive experience. Alyssa greeted me warmly and kindly, and after only a few visits, she began addressing me by name. That may seem small, but in this setting it means so much. Many medical facilities do not offer this level of personal attention, and it immediately made me feel seen and valued. Riddni also consistently made my bloodwork a great experience. She is always friendly, calm, and highly skilled, making every blood draw quick and smooth. The appointment process is efficient, which I greatly appreciate because I can finish quickly and continue with my day. As I leave, Nora always says goodbye warmly and wishes me a good day. This final gesture completes the visit perfectly. This team works exceptionally well together. They make you feel like an individual, not just another patient or number. I have visited other clinics, including Glenview, which is clean and professional, but the team here truly stands out by going above and beyond. Their care, warmth, and attention to detail exceed expectations, and they deserve recognition. I am extremely grateful to this team and highly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking fertility care.

    The entire team at Fertility Centers of Illinois truly transforms what can be an intimidating and overwhelming IVF journey into one filled with hope, compassion, and unwavering support. While our experience had its share of hiccups and hurdles, our team never wavered. They thoughtfully adjusted our plan and ultimately found the path that worked best for us to grow our family — something I will forever be grateful for. Dr. Burks was incredible throughout the entire process, continually refining our approach to give us the greatest chance of success. Our nurse, Maddie, was by my side every step of the way, patiently answering every question and offering reassurance whenever I needed it. Having primarily visited the Hoffman Estates office, I truly can’t imagine going through this journey without that team. Being greeted by name by Nora or Alyssa always made me feel seen and comforted — even on the hardest days. Riddhi is one of the best phlebotomists I’ve ever worked with.     I am writing this review because we were fortunate to welcome our precious daughter. Dr. Nani was wonderful. She created a personalized treatment plan and carefully evaluated every possible cause of complications. Her nurse Lily was truly a lifesaver. She patiently answered all my questions and helped me throughout the process. Riddhi is the best phlebotomist I have ever worked with. She drew my blood many times, and I never bruised afterward. Vita was patient during every ultrasound and helped me stay calm. She was approachable and made me feel very comfortable throughout the process. It was also heartwarming that the front desk staff remembered my name. Alyssa and Nora were warm and friendly and patiently answered every question I had throughout the process. We were also fortunate to work with Dr. Burke Chatman for the egg retrieval and Dr. Go for the embryo transfer. Both were excellent.     Our doctor works at the North River/Glenview office, but Mokena is near our home, so we went there for labs and ultrasounds. Dimples and Kristy at the front desk always greeted us with smiles. They were helpful and pleasant. While waiting, I heard them interact with other patients.     The best staff! Even when you are barely awake at 6:30 a.m., Kristy and Dimples greet you warmly as soon as you enter the clinic. They are very helpful, always upbeat, and bring positive energy. Nicole is an expert at blood draws; she works extremely quickly and is always friendly. My nurse Sarah promptly updates my treatment schedule and answers all 100 of my questions.     The clinic is easy to find, and the building is beautiful. Some members of the diagnostic team are very kind, and the phlebotomy staff do excellent work. Beyond that, our experience was very poor because communication with the team was terrible, compounded by an outdated online system that made even reading messages difficult. During two months of preliminary testing, we were never told that fertility medications themselves were not covered by our insurance. When it was finally time to order medication, the amount we expected to owe—the amount shown in the financial breakdown—suddenly increased by several thousand dollars. Because of this large unexpected expense, the two months of testing were wasted because we could not afford the dramatic increase at that time. We were also told that genetic testing was covered by our insurance plan, but when we received a $1,800 bill, we learned that this type of testing was not covered at all. In addition, FCI initially told us that if insurance denied the claim, our potential cost would be $1,000 less than the bill we actually received. Finally, although some staff were kind and thoughtful, most gave my husband and me almost no guidance during in-person visits. They generally did not explain the tests being performed, and front-desk staff were often engaged in personal conversations, making you feel like an interruption when checking out. When scheduling my initial appointment, I also requested a female doctor, so I was surprised when a male doctor performed one ultrasound. I had no time to reschedule and did not want to delay testing, so I had to endure a situation that made me very uncomfortable. Now that we know what to expect and how to reduce costs, we may still proceed with IVF in the future. However, I cannot say that we would feel comfortable continuing with FCI. This is very disappointing because the many positive reviews had given me high hopes.

    I cannot say enough good things! From my first consultation with Dr. Hobeika through every subsequent appointment, this was absolutely the best clinic experience I have ever had! First, the front desk is truly wonderful! Dimples and Christy are amazing! Their attitude and kindness toward every patient are remarkable, and they make every appointment feel very comfortable. Second, thank you to ultrasound technician Kathy! She performed most of my ultrasounds and was extremely thoughtful. You can see how much she cares about her patients! Finally, Dr. Hobeika's medical skill is exceptional! We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. My husband and I were very fortunate that our first intrauterine insemination (IUI) was successful. I never felt rushed or left an appointment with unanswered questions. I worked mostly with his nurse Sarah, who is the best! She answered every question and explained everything in great detail. I highly recommend this clinic for fertility care/treatment. Graduating was bittersweet because everyone was so wonderful! I cannot wait to tell them when our sweet baby is born and let them know how grateful we are!

    Very happy to be a patient of FCI Mokena! My husband and I transferred to FCI after not having luck at another clinic. Dr. Hobeika was wonderful and listened to our concerns and was confident about our treatment plan. We are currently expecting our first baby thanks to him! (We also had experiences with Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Uhler at on-call procedures and they were equally as wonderful!) In addition to the doctors we’ve met at FCI, the staff you work with regularly and on a daily basis were incredible as well. The front desk team (Dimples, Kristy, and Callie) were always so helpful scheduling & fitting in the many appointments that take place and it was always a friendly and welcoming environment in-person. Nicole is by far the best phlebotomist I’ve encountered over this long journey! She was so quick and efficient there was never any time to be worried or uncomfortable.     Update: Northwestern Medical is far more professional and efficient than FCI. They provided standard hormone supplements from the outset instead of brushing us off. Other providers confirmed this is standard practice and questioned why our FCI doctor had not done so. FCI delays as long as possible to extract more money, pretending to need information while patients waste months or years trusting them. Update: FCI sent me a letter threatening that if I posted my experience, they would "harass and cyberbully me and take appropriate action." I have evidence of their lack of involvement and urgency. Refusing their boilerplate paperwork and obstacles ultimately worked. They spent less time threatening me than they did on our first IUI. Money is all they care about. Original review, with names removed: This team is terrible and shows no urgency. We had to push constantly for progress. They processed my initial sample in 4 days but gave no feedback until I called two weeks later. They said an approved insurance request would take two weeks. Because a delay would cost another month, we pushed for immediate action. They refused until we spent 6 hours a day on the phone for two days and forced FCI to deliver the paperwork to the insurer. They resented our persistence, but approval came through, proving it did not require two weeks—only initiative, which the team lacks. Instead of doing their job, they terminated us because we asked for the urgency every couple in our situation wants. They ended our relationship after our first failed IUI despite the doctor's high success rate. Staff showed no compassion for patient stress and anxiety and dismissed us simply for asking them to perform their duties. Their arrogance was unbelievable. We did not disrespect staff. We asked for promised services and appropriate urgency. You terminated us because we proved you could do better and refused. We demonstrated that paperwork can be processed urgently. We tried to understand every step and follow your professional advice. Your nurses gave unclear instructions, so we requested explanations. That is not disrespect. We did not swear; we used common sense. Your team abandoned us for challenging the status quo.

    IVF is not something I would wish on anyone, but my team was exceptional. First was my ultrasound technician, Kathy, who always greeted me with a smile and treated me like family. She was consistently positive and made me feel comfortable and safe. Then there was my nurse, Michelle. I do not know what I would have done without her. She was my closest support and my anchor. She helped me through the difficulty of having no eggs and celebrated with me when I conceived. She accompanied me throughout this challenging journey. It was difficult, but knowing Michelle was there to help and care for me made it much easier. I believe both Kathy and Michelle deserve a raise.     My wife and I have been patients here for the past few years. Overall, customer service has generally been good, and the medical staff have been kind. Our nurse Michelle was wonderful, paid close attention to our case, and made us feel reassured throughout this long treatment process. Our only issue was some miscommunication about billing, along with frequent communication problems with the front desk regarding billing and appointment scheduling. Overall, the experience was good, and we would still recommend the clinic.

    Casey is absolutely my favorite ultrasound technician at the clinic. She is incredibly kind and thoughtful and makes me feel completely at ease at every appointment. She explains everything clearly, creates a relaxed atmosphere, and genuinely cares about her patients. IVF is difficult, and having someone like Casey alongside you matters greatly. I am very grateful to her.

    Michelle is very helpful in answering all my questions. She calls and lets me know my results of any tests I have. She also answers my questions in the portal even after hours. She has been very helpful every step I had taken with my IVF journey. Nicole is very good at drawing my blood. She is efficient and never leaves a bruise. Great work!     FCI Mokena is truly wonderful! The entire team has been outstanding since I began treatment there in 2021. With their support, I welcomed my little one in April 2024 and am eagerly awaiting my second baby, due in June. The staff provided patient, detailed guidance throughout the fertility process.     Our ultrasound technician Kathy was amazing. She was warm, kind, and knowledgeable, and explained everything in detail so we had no unanswered questions. My primary nurse Paige responded very quickly, and the results made me feel that everything was under control; Nicole was equally excellent. Even my husband could not stop praising Kathy after every ultrasound.

    Information is not shared effectively between clinic departments, and the lack of transparency creates confusion in treatment scheduling and adds to patients’ stress. The doctor’s and financial counselor’s timelines do not align. Nurses are also difficult to reach, even though communication is especially important during IVF treatment. I recommend choosing MindBody over FCI.

    I truly did not want to write this, but other patients deserve to know the truth. Soon after moving from New York to Illinois, I contacted this clinic while undergoing infertility treatment. Instead of evaluating me based on my medical needs, they told me they would not accept me because I had previously received treatment at CCRM in New York City, which they considered a competitor. Seriously? Imagine moving to Mokena and being denied medical care because of a "territorial dispute." Infertility is not a competition. Patients are not market share. We are people trying to build families while navigating one of the hardest periods of our lives. If they are concerned about losing patients to better clinics, perhaps they should focus on supporting and caring for patients rather than protecting their territory.

    I love FCI! They made the entire IVF experience and process incredibly easy. I was nervous at every appointment but always happy to see Kathy. From egg retrieval through confirmation of pregnancy, she performed almost every ultrasound. They always made me feel like a patient rather than a number, and every concern was taken seriously. All the nurses and staff there are wonderful. I will return for a second IVF cycle! 💕

Dr. Hobeka's nurse Kelly and ultrasound technician Kathy always greeted me with smiles and provided impeccable service. Their care and thoughtfulness were moving and unmatched, and their passion for their work shone through.     The nurses and doctors my wife and I met were professional and experienced. They answered many of our questions, and we could see progress in treatment. However, the payment/billing process was unclear. Only after several visits did we contact the finance department and learn that reception should have explained payment at scheduling. As a result, several previous out-of-pocket “upfront” charges were deducted all at once. Worse, the amount was nearly withdrawn automatically from our bank account, putting us in a difficult position. Unfortunately, we now have to pause treatment, and the experience has become very negative.

    I came in for some tests, and it was the friendliest and fastest visit I have ever had at any doctor's office! Jay immediately took me back for the first test. She was kind and personable and made a normally unpleasant test enjoyable. She then took me to Angel for the second test. Angel waited in the room and explained what we were doing and why in a way anyone could understand! Both provided an excellent experience, and I look forward to working with them again!

    I had such a good experience! My nurse, Caitlin, and Dr. Matevossian were very attentive. Caitlin always answered my questions the same day, usually within an hour. I had some complications before and after my procedure, and Dr. Matevossian called me without my even asking. They were there at every step. My ultrasound technicians also made me as comfortable as possible and were very friendly. From beginning to end, I felt confident that I was receiving excellent care!

    FCI was a terrible experience for my wife and me. We often felt that they cared more about making money than meeting our fertility needs. They never told us that our embryo did not survive thawing, and they charged us even though no transfer occurred. To make matters worse, FCI insisted that we schedule a follow-up appointment with Dr. Rodgers. We did not want to do so, but they pressured us. If we had to do it again, we would find a company that cared more about patients' needs than making money.

    If you are uninsured and value clear, candid communication, go elsewhere. My experience was deeply frustrating and disappointing. Communication was nearly impossible outside a cumbersome, impersonal portal. I was quoted $275, but at payment the total suddenly rose to $590 without a clear explanation. Information was inconsistent throughout. A nurse initially told me which blood tests I needed, but immediately after I left, I was told more were suddenly required. When I asked to speak directly with the nurse, I was again told everything had to go through the portal. Strangely, they then called the nurse directly. Worse, I later received a bill from a completely different company that no one had mentioned. After paying so much out of pocket, I was shocked to learn there was still a balance. All I wanted during this vulnerable time was transparency. Instead, I felt exploited, misled, and unsupported. People deserve better, especially regarding their health.

    I entered this process full of hope and ready to face the difficult journey with my husband. Everything began well—until we reached the finance department. I waited two full months for a bill so I could pay. I kept thinking: I am not asking for free treatment. The money is ready; I simply need someone to help me proceed. The experience made me wonder: if accepting payment is this slow, what could I expect during actual treatment? I ultimately changed clinics. And guess what? I had to repeat every test because, despite repeated contacts, orders, and follow-up emails, they never bothered to send the test results that I had paid for myself. I joined several fertility-clinic support groups. Before spending your money, I strongly recommend taking time to read about other people's experiences. Thank you for failing to help when I needed it most.

    Wish I could give a negative star. My experience has been terrible visiting every time when I go to this clinic for the bloodwork and ultrasound. It bleeds like hell after they take the blood for testing. See the attached images from my past two experiences. Staff seems to polite sometimes and a bit impolite sometimes, please do understand that people step in to your facility to get their problems solved. It would be really nice if we are treated politely and take very good care (especially blood draw in my case). Both the images are from a week apart. I have gone through the bloodwork’s many times, but these visits are my worst. You all can do very very very better.

    I know routine ultrasounds can be uncomfortable, and the fact that I now hope to have the same technician at every appointment says everything. Every ultrasound at Fertility Centers of Illinois in Vernon Hills has felt comfortable and reassuring, all thanks to Jay. She is highly professional, considerate, and attentive. Jay takes time to explain each examination clearly, ensures I am comfortable, and answers every question calmly and professionally. Her attention to detail is remarkable. She always takes extra time when needed to ensure the images are clear and complete. What impressed me most at every appointment was that she offered to let me insert the probe myself for greater comfort, something no other technician had ever done. In addition to her excellent skills, Jay is very approachable. She remembers details from previous appointments, checks on how I am doing, and even helps fit me into the schedule during busy periods so I can be seen promptly. Overall, I highly recommend my ultrasound technician Jay for her outstanding professionalism, thoughtful care, and expertise. She has remained supportive throughout a process that can feel overwhelming, deeply personal, and emotionally difficult.

She made the blood draw so easy that I barely felt it. During IVF, the front desk staff, ultrasound technician, and phlebotomist become your closest contacts because you see them most often. After meeting Natalia, Jay, and Angel on my first visit to FCI, I knew it was the right place for me. My physician is Dr. Hobeka, who is very caring and bases his treatment plans on evidence-based medicine. When I was anxious about what to do next, he called me after the clinic had closed and discussed everything with me in detail. Nurse Sarah was also very patient in answering my questions and concerns. I am very grateful for FCI's all-star team! One more thing: I transferred from another clinic partly because FCI performs monitoring every day. I no longer worry about missing something because of the weekend. I truly appreciate FCI's commitment to careful monitoring.

    I highly recommend this fertility clinic! Dr. Rodgers is amazing. She helped me find a solution and achieve a dream I never thought possible. She is so kind, and her positive, optimistic personality gave me tremendous hope! Jay, the ultrasound technician, and Angel, the phlebotomist, are also fantastic!!! Jay helped me relax and eased my anxiety. Nurse Jen is absolutely the best too!!! She patiently answered all my questions and responded very quickly. She explained the entire process clearly and simply, and even sent a message after every call summarizing what we discussed so I would not forget! Finally, the two women at the front desk are also incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even at 6:30 a.m., they are always so kind! Thank you all so much! I look forward to coming back. :)

    I had almost given up hope of starting a family with my husband, but FCI changed our perspective. After visiting a fertility clinic that communicated poorly, FCI was a breath of fresh air and a relief in an overwhelming situation. They patiently guided me through the entire process and were very compassionate. We began this journey in late 2025 and completed our first cycle in April 2026, resulting in a successful intrauterine insemination (IUI). The team was excellent. Jay, the ultrasound technician, was knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable throughout. The laboratory and nursing teams worked together seamlessly. My doctor, Dr. Martini, was exceptional and approachable and made me feel completely at ease. I am deeply grateful to this team for giving us the most precious gift.

From the very first appointment, she made me feel comfortable, cared for, and genuinely supported during such a special and emotional time.     Our experience working with FCI was stressful. FCI's communication and follow-up were terrible. I am glad we left and received treatment elsewhere. To help other patients avoid what we experienced, I recently emailed the office manager at the Warrenville location with details of our experience and constructive feedback. We never received a reply. Although disappointing, it was not surprising. This seems to be a recurring theme at FCI.

    After two years of moving from one fertility clinic to another, working with Fertility Centers of Illinois was a blessing. My wife and I always felt that other places were less welcoming and insensitive to our situation. Dr. Uhler, RN Natalie, and the rest of the staff at Fertility Centers of Illinois did an excellent job welcoming us and making us feel cared for and supported. We did not feel like just another number or patient. The experience itself involved complex emotions, both good and bad. That seems inevitable in infertility and its treatment. Although Dr. Uhler speaks quickly, she was excellent at explaining things in a way we could understand and follow. She is highly knowledgeable and very good at her work. RN Natalie was always available to address my wife's concerns. She has an excellent bedside manner and great patience. Please note that FCI being warm does not mean they sugarcoat anything. Dr. Uhler and the staff always kept it completely honest and held us accountable. After several failed IUI attempts at previous clinics, we decided to pursue IVF at FCI. They fully prepared us for what came next, gave us precise and detailed instructions, and helped us get ready. They knew the medications my wife needed and worked carefully to keep us on schedule. Every infertility case has its own circumstances, but it is difficult not to compare yourself with others. My wife had a low egg count, and the quality was not the best. Knowing this, our numbers and follicle retrieval results were low. The experience was very stressful and often discouraging, though not always as difficult as we imagined. In the end, we had an amazing result. Against the odds, she became pregnant. Did FCI and its care contribute to this? We believe they played a vital role. We are sincerely grateful for everything. Thank you to Dr. Uhler, RN Natalie, and everyone on the FCI team.

    Our journey at Fertility Centers of Illinois has been long, emotional, and deeply meaningful. Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Uhler and her outstanding team, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the care and dedication they have shown us. Thanks to their expertise and support, we are now the proud parents of two wonderful children. Their motto, “Your miracle, our mission,” is not just a slogan; they put it into practice at every step. They genuinely see it as their mission to stand beside us and help us build our family. Our journey covered everything from intrauterine insemination (IUI) to in vitro fertilization (IVF). We conceived our first child through IUI, but when we tried for a second child, we underwent about five unsuccessful IUIs before deciding to proceed with IVF. Our first egg retrieval produced four embryos, and our first IVF transfer was successful—we welcomed our second child. Since then, we have sadly experienced two miscarriages, but we still have one embryo remaining and remain hopeful about the future. Throughout the process, the team consistently supported and cared for us. After my second miscarriage, I even received a personal call from Dr. Uhler herself. During such a difficult time, this meant so much because it showed that we were in their thoughts and that they were truly walking beside us on this journey. I also want to give special thanks to ultrasound technician Patty, who has been with me throughout this long journey. She is very kind and friendly and always makes the process feel more comfortable and personal. It may sound strange, but when this journey finally ends, part of me will be sad because it will mean saying goodbye to the people who have stood by us and helped our family grow. They feel like family, and their genuine care has made an unimaginably difficult time easier. Infertility is an incredibly painful experience, and I am grateful that we chose the Fertility Centers of Illinois family to accompany us through it all.

    During such a stressful time in my IVF experience, it was a relief to know I would walk into the office and see women who were always smiling and willing to answer questions or help with any concern. Whether it was the nurses, ultrasound technicians, phlebotomists, or women at reception, they made my experience much easier, and I always knew the FCI Warrenville staff were taking excellent care of me.     After six years of struggling with infertility, my husband and I decided to visit Fertility Centers of Illinois, and choosing this clinic was the best decision we ever made. Our doctor was Dr. Meagan Sachs. I cannot adequately describe how calm, kind, patient, and compassionate she is. From our first visit, Dr. Sachs took time to understand our story and answer every question, always offering hope while remaining honest and thoughtful. Every test and stage of treatment was handled with great care and reassurance. I trusted her completely, and that trust was rewarded: only nine months after meeting her, our first IVF cycle resulted in pregnancy. I also want to recognize the clinic's outstanding nursing team. They genuinely care about every patient. After each visit, they called to explain the results clearly and followed up promptly through the patient portal, always making me feel reassured and supported. The embryologists and the entire egg retrieval and embryo transfer team were equally wonderful—warm, gentle, and considerate. I felt their kindness and positive energy throughout. Every person I met had a positive impact on this journey. If you are considering IVF or IUI, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Meagan Sachs and Fertility Centers of Illinois. She is an exceptional doctor, and words cannot express my gratitude to her and the entire team for helping us achieve our dream.

    Update: Northwestern Medical is far more professional and efficient than FCI. They did not dismiss our concerns and provided standard hormone supplements from the beginning. After consulting other providers, we learned that offering these supplements initially is standard practice. Other doctors questioned why our FCI physician had not done so. FCI feels like a game in which they delay as much as possible to take more money. They pretend to need additional information while we waste months or years trusting them. Update: I received a letter from FCI threatening to ‘harass and cyberbully me and take appropriate action’ if I posted my experience. I have data and evidence demonstrating their lack of engagement and urgency. The evidence shows that refusing to accept their generic paperwork and obstacles ultimately worked. Perhaps FCI will take this personally, as they do with all their clients. They spent less time sending me a private threat than they spent arranging our first IUI. Their only concern is money. Original review, with names removed to avoid hurting professional pride: This team is terrible. They show no urgency at any stage of the process. We had to push constantly to make any progress. I submitted an initial sample. They processed it in 4 days but did not provide feedback until I called two weeks later. Our insurance request was approved, and they said processing would take two weeks. Because timing was critical and otherwise we would lose another month, we asked them to process it immediately. They refused to expedite the paperwork until we spent 6 hours on the phone with them on each of two consecutive days. We had to force the FCI team to deliver the documents to the insurer personally because they had no sense of urgency. They were unhappy that we persisted, but we ultimately obtained approval. We proved it could be done without taking two weeks. It required initiative, which this team lacks. Instead of doing their jobs, they terminated us as clients because we requested the urgency every couple in our situation would want. Our first IUI failed, and then they terminated our care despite the physician’s high success rate. FCI staff had no empathy for the stress and anxiety patients endure. They ended our care simply because we asked them to fulfill their responsibilities. The arrogance of the entire staff was unbelievable. We were not disrespectful to staff. We only asked the team to provide the promised service and the urgency every patient in our situation wants. You terminated us because we proved you could do better and you refused. Your team was challenged. We proved that all the paperwork could be handled properly when treated urgently. We did our best to understand every step and follow your professional advice. I fully agree with some reviews from previous patients. Your nurses’ instructions were unclear, so we asked them to clarify. Did that make us disrespectful clients? We did not swear; we used common sense. Your team abandoned us simply because we challenged the status quo.
