Dr. Mark Bush, United States
Dr. Mark Bush has dedicated his career to reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
“I have been a physician for more than 30 years. I cannot imagine doing anything else. With the help of many clinicians, embryologists, nurses, and staff members, we have built Conceptions into one of the leading fertility centers in Colorado and the United States. We understand why prospective parents come to us, and every day we work to provide the safety and success each patient deserves.”
Dr. Bush's early love of molecular biology and surgery led him to reproductive endocrinology. He saw the combination of biology and surgery as a way to create life and address genetic concerns.
Dr. Bush graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in biology that included honors research in molecular biology.
After earning his medical degree from Georgetown University, he completed his OB/GYN residency at William Beaumont and Texas Tech University. His training culminated in a three-year fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Duke University.
“There is no substitute for knowledge and experience. I have always been interested in sharing the knowledge gained through my training and passing it on.” Dr. Bush has held various positions at institutions across the United States, from Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility to Clinical Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at medical schools. “Each of these roles allowed me, in a small way, to share the knowledge and skills my mentors generously gave me.”
In 2004, Dr. Bush left academia for Colorado. Since then, Conceptions has been at the forefront of day-5 embryo culture in 2006 and chromosomal and genetic assessment of embryos in 2009. At Conceptions, Dr. Bush truly saw an opportunity to change the world.
“Part of building something great is recruiting excellent people, giving them the right environment, and letting them thrive. At Conceptions, I had the opportunity to build my team and give them the freedom to do what they do best for our patients. That remains how we operate at Conceptions today. We give one another autonomy under a shared vision,” Dr. Bush says.
“We remain academically oriented. Our medical protocols have been validated over many years and are continually updated. This approach allows us to truly put patients first; our staff works for our patients.”
