Dr. Antonio Gargiulo, United States
For nearly three decades, Dr. Gargiulo has been a full-time faculty member in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Harvard Medical School. He is recognized nationally and internationally for his pioneering scientific and clinical work in robotic reproductive surgery. His expertise extends beyond the operating room; as a technical consultant to leading engineering teams, he has contributed to advances in surgical lasers and robotic systems.
A founding member of the Society of Robotic Surgery, Dr. Gargiulo has nearly 20 years of pioneering experience and has performed more than 2,000 complex robotic procedures. His practice focuses on radical excision of endometriosis and conservative treatment of complex uterine abnormalities. He is internationally recognized as a leading authority on robotic myomectomy, reflecting his key role in developing robotic myomectomy techniques. In recognition of his pioneering work, the Society of European Robotic Gynaecological Surgery (SERGS) awarded him Certified Robotic Surgeon status.
Dr. Gargiulo is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He is the only surgeon in New England with an additional ABOG Focused Practice Designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.
He is a professional member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). His work presented at these societies has received numerous awards and honors. He has also organized and taught many national and international courses in robotic reproductive surgery and trained a generation of specialists in minimally invasive techniques he developed.
He is fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish. His multicultural background enriches his practice and supports greater cultural awareness and inclusion. Dr. Gargiulo has long advocated for reproductive health equity in New England's Latino community.
