Through his highly specialized training, Dr. Schnorr has treated thousands of couples using assisted reproductive technologies, including IVF, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), and donor egg treatment. His extensive IVF experience enables him to individualize patient care by selecting optimal ovarian stimulation protocols and embryo culture techniques to maximize pregnancy rates.
Awards and Research
Dr. Schnorr received a national award for pioneering research on ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation to help women with malignant disease avoid premature ovarian failure. His work on ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation received the American Society for Reproductive Medicine's highest honor, the “General Program Prize Paper,” in San Diego, California, in October 2000 and was published in Human Reproduction in January 2002. He continues to present and publish numerous manuscripts and book chapters on topics including ovarian tissue transplantation, embryo cryopreservation, in vitro fertilization, egg donation, and medical ethics.
Dr. Schnorr developed the ovarian tissue transplantation program at the Medical University of South Carolina and conducts cutting-edge research in oocyte cryopreservation. Through these efforts, he is proud to have been the physician responsible for South Carolina's first, second, and third live births from oocyte cryopreservation in 2011 and 2012.
More recently, Dr. Schnorr created Cycle Clarity, an FDA-approved artificial intelligence software platform used at fertility centers across the United States. Cycle Clarity performs 3D ultrasound of the ovaries to identify and measure every developing follicle. Instead of a standard 20-minute ultrasound, it can perform the scan in 10 seconds and provides the clinical team with standardized measurements of every follicle. The platform allows physicians to review the complete ultrasound at any time, 24/7, to support optimal decisions for patients. Cycle Clarity is FDA-approved for use across the United States and is proudly used at Coastal Fertility Specialists. www.cycleclarity.com
