Why Choose Us?
Coastal Fertility Specialists aims to provide the highest quality reproductive endocrinology care in a compassionate, nurturing environment.
We are extremely proud of our dedicated, experienced staff, high pregnancy rates, and high patient satisfaction. We encourage you to explore our website to learn who we are, what we believe, and why we do this work. We are here “Because Your Dreams Matter,” and we are committed to making them come true.
We Know Infertility Can Be Challenging
Conception should be a natural event that occurs in the privacy of your own home. Many patients are afraid to seek help because they worry they may learn they can never become pregnant. Seeing a specialist is not giving up; it means involving an expert in your care. We have never encountered infertility we could not address, and we have never told anyone they cannot become pregnant. You do not need permission or a referral to see us. There is no obligation, and most couples conceive through simple forms of infertility treatment.
The success of our infertility centers in South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia, is measured by “bringing babies home.” We are so confident in our ability to help you conceive that we offer financial programs that refund up to 100% of your treatment costs if you are not successful.
Through the work of our outstanding staff, Coastal Fertility Specialists helps patients with nearly every aspect of infertility and reproductive endocrinology. By selecting appropriate advanced diagnostic tools, we work to identify the underlying cause of infertility. We then develop a personalized plan that gives each individual, couple, and same-sex couple the best opportunity for a successful pregnancy.
Experienced Physicians
Dr. Schnorr, Dr. Cook, Dr. McLaughlin, Dr. Riestenberg, and Dr. Peterson are board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and obstetrics and gynecology. Together, they have more than 70 years of clinical experience at leading U.S. centers. Their combined experience includes more than 35,000 ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination cycles and 15,000 IVF and donor egg cycles, with pregnancy rates among the highest in the country. Their high pregnancy rates reflect their focus on both the clinical and laboratory aspects of your care.
Drs. Schnorr, Cook, McLaughlin, Riestenberg, and Peterson also form the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), which U.S. News & World Report ranked the No. 1 hospital in South Carolina for the sixth consecutive year in 2020. Our partnership with MUSC brings the resources of one of South Carolina’s leading universities to our practice.
Patient and Employee Satisfaction
Our core belief is that infertility is difficult and success requires thoughtful persistence. Patients can continue infertility treatment only when cared for by a compassionate, nurturing center that responds to their needs. By living our beliefs and core values every day, CFS received IntegraMed’s highest national patient satisfaction award for three consecutive years. These consecutive awards were unprecedented in IntegraMed’s history; its network included more than 33 leading fertility centers and provided over 33% of U.S. IVF cycles.
We Love Our Work, and It Shows!
We have also received the highest employee satisfaction award. We believe patient and employee satisfaction go hand in hand.
Outstanding Team
Coastal Fertility Specialists is proud to employ experienced registered nurses who coordinate care and help physicians monitor your progress at every step. They provide ongoing support and answer your questions throughout your journey. Our financial counselors can assist with insurance and payment questions.
Our experienced CFS team has helped thousands of individuals, couples, and same-sex couples pursue their family-building dreams. We offer a full range of fertility treatments, from the simplest interventions to the latest advanced options, including IVF, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, and cryopreservation of eggs, sperm, and embryos.
State-of-the-Art Laboratory
We believe the best pregnancy rates come from the best embryology laboratories. A centralized laboratory allows us to focus our attention and resources on continually developing and improving our laboratory. Developing and maintaining a high-quality embryology laboratory is costly and time-consuming, but our patients benefit, as shown by our pregnancy rates. Our high pregnancy rates are not accidental. We are one of the few IVF centers with our own full-time, on-site laboratory director, Dr. Jeff Gray, PhD, HCLD, TS, who leads our laboratory with guidance from several external consultants.
Coastal Fertility Specialists has selected and met the highest standards for laboratory accreditation. We are a member of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) and hold accreditations or certifications under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF).
