Dr. Cappy Rothman, United States
Dr. Cappy Rothman is the founder of the Center for Male Reproductive Medicine and co-founder of California Cryobank, one of the world's largest sperm banks. He is a board-certified urologist and a nationally recognized authority in andrology, the urologic subspecialty focused on male reproductive health, as well as in human sperm banking.
Dr. Cappy pioneered the use of microsurgical techniques, from treating male infertility to advanced sperm freezing and storage.
Dr. Rothman earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, followed by a urology residency at the University of California, San Francisco and additional urology residency training at Loma Linda University.
Dr. Rothman served on the medical staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Century City Hospital and was a clinical instructor at UCLA. He was also a member of the Office of Technology Assessment (OTA), established by Al Gore.
Dr. Rothman is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society for Cryobiology, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and American Association of Tissue Banks.
