Dr. Cappy Rothman is the founder of the Center for Male Reproductive Medicine and co-founder of California Cryobank, one of the world's largest sperm banks. He is a board-certified urologist and a nationally recognized authority in andrology, the urologic subspecialty focused on male reproductive health, as well as in human sperm banking.
Dr. Cappy pioneered the use of microsurgical techniques, from treating male infertility to advanced sperm freezing and storage.
Dr. Rothman earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, followed by a urology residency at the University of California, San Francisco and additional urology residency training at Loma Linda University.
Dr. Rothman served on the medical staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Century City Hospital and was a clinical instructor at UCLA. He was also a member of the Office of Technology Assessment (OTA), established by Al Gore.
Dr. Rothman is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society for Cryobiology, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and American Association of Tissue Banks.

I began seeing Dr. Werthman after poor treatment at another fertility practice. I immediately noticed a major difference: someone took the time to understand us and the problem and discuss options, processes, and more, compared with the assembly-line experience at the other office. He was very personable, friendly, and outgoing and could speak in language you understand instead of medical jargon. We are very happy with the results and our growing family—now two children!

Dr. Werthman is among the best in his field. A prominent fertility specialist who had difficulty treating my condition recommended him.
During my first visit, Dr. Werthman took the time to listen to my story, review my laboratory results, ask questions, and develop a plan to help me achieve my desired fertility outcome quickly. Within a few months, I successfully achieved that outcome and expanded my family :)

I had a microTESE procedure with Dr. Werthman. The procedure went smoothly, and we obtained plenty of usable sperm. I previously had several microsurgical procedures with other doctors that retrieved no sperm, and I thought all hope was lost. Dr. Werthman tried this as a last resort and retrieved not just some sperm, but a large amount. Amazing results. He is also very pleasant and easy to work with, and his staff communicate well. If you are dealing with male infertility, contact him 100%.

My reversal was unsuccessful. I am unsure whether I would do it again. It was challenging in many ways. Good luck to everyone hoping for results. The staff were wonderful and explained everything. It is simply heartbreaking that the reversal did not work for me.

The doctor and his team were wonderful. They explained everything clearly, and the procedure was successful. I had surgery in early July, and my wife was pregnant by September. We had expected it to take several more months for the numbers to improve, so learning that we were expecting a baby was incredibly reassuring.
