Dr. Elassar is a board-certified gynecologist specializing in reproductive endocrinology and fertility. She completed her residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell and her fellowship at the University of Connecticut. She has authored several research papers focused on hormonal responses to fertility treatment in women with diminished ovarian reserve.


Alyaa was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, where she often returns to visit family. She has two daughters: one is an MBA graduate who works at the clinic, and the other is trying to catch up with her🙂 An avid soccer fan, she is always happy to talk about her favorite team, FC Barcelona.     I had a wonderful experience at NYC IVF. From the first appointment, I found the staff caring, organized, highly professional, and experienced. Dr. Elassar always shared her expertise in a way that made me feel comfortable with the journey. I had complete confidence in her and the plan she created for me. Nurse Tamar, as well as the lovely medical assistants, front desk manager, and financial/insurance specialist, also deserve recognition. I truly cannot say enough good things about the staff. Everything was conveniently available on-site. This was the first and only clinic I visited, and I am grateful that everything went so smoothly.

    A friend referred me to NYC IVF after I had a terrible experience at a previous clinic. I also researched the leading IVF doctors in New York City, and Dr. Elassar was near the top of my list. NYC IVF is a small boutique clinic where everyone, from the administrative staff and nurses to Dr. Elassar herself, knows your name. I chose this clinic for a more personalized and tailored experience, and it was everything we hoped for. My appointments were always on time, and all my questions were answered promptly. They were also highly supportive, and I felt that the entire team was invested in my success. This was very important to me and, I believe, contributed to my successful IVF experience. The clinic provides in-house services, including an operating room for egg retrievals and transfers and very convenient acupressure services.     I just completed two egg-freezing cycles at NYC IVF, and honestly, I could not be more grateful—especially at age 39, nearly 40. I arrived knowing nothing and full of fear and doubt, but after a close friend's recommendation, I decided to proceed, and I am so glad I did. The clinic is never crowded, is always spotless, and is located right on Fifth Avenue. Everyone on the team knows your name, and you feel cared for rather than like an anonymous patient. Dr. Elassar personally performs all scans and examinations. During my retrievals, I felt exceptionally well cared for, and the entire team—thank you, Tamar, Annie, Needa, Isabelle, Maeve, and everyone else—made these major moments surprisingly easy. Despite my age, my mature egg rate was 90% in the first cycle and 100% in the second, which I still find hard to believe. Their attention to detail and professionalism made all the difference.     I have been with Dr. Elassar's practice for several years, and everyone is wonderful, responsive, and flexible.     I just completed my first egg-freezing cycle at NYC IVF and obtained an unprecedented 15 mature eggs at age 42. Although some of this is due to my own genetics, it also reflects the precision and expertise of Dr. Elassar and her outstanding team. I cannot imagine completing my second cycle anywhere else.

    After five years of being unable to conceive with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), I decided it was time to see Dr. Elassar (DR ELASSAR), and I had an excellent experience at New York IVF. From the first appointment, the staff seemed caring, organized, professional, and experienced. Dr. Elassar always shared her expertise in a way that reassured me. I had complete confidence in her and the plan she created for me.     If you are undergoing IVF and want more personalized care, I highly recommend NYC IVF. The clinic is not large, but it is friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated seeing the same care team every time. It was the first and only clinic my husband and I visited because of the positive online reviews. I was initially concerned because I am very skeptical of doctors, but I am glad we took the chance and did not go elsewhere. Dr. Elassar is knowledgeable and caring.     I worked with Dr. Elassar for about five years. I froze my eggs with her when I was 35, almost 36. A few years later, at 38, I created embryos, and at 40 I decided to transfer my only beautiful embryo. I was very frightened and deeply in debt, but they were always patient with me. Tamar was consistently helpful and tried to reassure me. Dr. Elassar loves her work and is always professional. I want to thank the entire team because I was surely their most difficult and indecisive patient, haha. I was anxious and afraid for years, but finally chose a natural-cycle transfer.     My experience at NYC IVF was outstanding. The entire team is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. After your first appointment, they remember you and do not even need to ask your name when you enter. I had terrible consultations at several larger egg-freezing practices, but NYC IVF was completely different. At the first consultation, Dr. Elassar sits with you, explains the entire process in detail, and answers every question. You then meet with billing to review out-of-pocket costs. They also schedule hands-on medication instruction, whose importance may not be clear until your first injection. Other practices only send videos, but NYC IVF brings you in and guides you step by step while allowing you to record the demonstration and ask questions. The experience deserves a perfect score.     I froze my eggs at New York City IVF (NYCIVF) and was very pleased with the team. I had greatly underestimated how involved the process would be, but they guided me through it step by step and helped me adjust. I also have small veins that phlebotomists often struggle to find, so I worried about the frequent blood tests. Nurse Tamar was excellent—skilled, gentle, and thoughtful—and made blood draws easy. Dr. Elassar was equally excellent and approachable, and the whole team was wonderful. Overall, they made a process I had dreaded feel manageable, and we achieved excellent results—far above average for my age. I have recommended them to friends and will continue to do so.

    New York IVF is the only fertility clinic I have used, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found them. Like most people, my fertility journey was filled with stress, anxiety, and regret that I had not started sooner.     Dr. Elassar and the team at NYC IVF are truly among the best in the field. After several unsuccessful attempts at other clinics, we decided to transfer to NYC IVF on the recommendation of several friends, some of whom had also been through lengthy IVF journeys.     I struggled with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and tried to conceive for years without success. Fortunately, I found Dr. Elassar and her excellent team at NYC IVF. From my first visit, they treated me with great care, patience, and understanding. The pain of infertility is hard to describe, but they consistently gave me support and hope.     Dr. Elassar and her team at NYC IVF are the best. I cannot thank them enough. The team is wonderful—responsive, compassionate, and professional. During the initial consultation, we discussed everything in detail, including medical and financial matters. All my questions were answered within 10 minutes, including on weekends and after hours. They supported me throughout the process and demonstrated the injections to me twice in person. When ovarian stimulation began, Tamar gave me a very clear calendar listing my injection doses, upcoming appointments, and possible egg retrieval date. On retrieval day, Dr. Elassar held my hand throughout. That meant so much to me. The anesthesiologist was efficient. My condition was not simple because I have endometriosis, but Dr. Elassar developed a specific stimulation protocol that helped me produce many eggs. We achieved a 100% fertilization rate, obtained many embryos for biopsy, and most were normal. Tamar and the embryologist gave me daily updates. Finally, Dr. Elassar prepared my uterus very carefully, and yes—I became pregnant after my first embryo transfer. The entire process was seamless. I wish I could stay at NYC IVF until delivery. I will miss this excellent team, but I have more embryos and can return. The clinic is also very clean and modern, centrally located in Midtown Manhattan in an elegant building. Words cannot express my love and gratitude for them. I highly recommend Dr. Elassar and NYC IVF.

    I am very glad I chose this clinic after reading many reviews. My case is complex and not easy. I also tried several other clinics, but none offered personalized treatment, leaving me uncertain. Because of my diminished ovarian reserve, I need to be proactive about family planning. Dr. Elassar and her team were excellent. I left the clinic with a clear plan, including the financial aspects.     Edit: The response to my negative review disclosed my medical records in violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which likely tells you everything you need to know about this doctor. After I reported her, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services confirmed the violation and said it would contact the practice to enforce federal law. Buyer beware. Original review: This place is a complete scam, and I am disgusted by how they treat patients. I came to this single-doctor practice for fertility screening. Dr. Elassar and her staff performed one ultrasound and one blood test, then strongly pressured me to begin fertility treatment immediately rather than wait for my employer insurance to begin the following year. I found it strange to be pressured to pay out of pocket after only one scan, so I sought a second opinion. It turns out multiple tests are normally needed before frightening someone with claims of a low egg count and infertility. My new doctor performed several tests and found that my results were normal for a young woman, with no need to begin fertility treatment early. I believe Dr. Elassar and her team are focused on money, which is clear from how they treat patients. Six months after my first and only visit, they sent me a $500 medical bill for procedures I do not remember and then automatically charged my credit card. Their lack of professional ethics, informed consent, and disclosure of hidden charges is unbelievable.
