Tower Urology a été fondée il y a environ 50 ans.


À la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le Dr Barney Silver est revenu de son service dans le Pacifique Sud et a commencé à exercer l’urologie à l’ancien hôpital Cedars of Lebanon, sur Sunset Boulevard. Il est devenu une figure légendaire de son époque, offrant des soins urologiques exemplaires avec une intégrité inégalée et inspirant une fidélité des patients rarement observée en médecine.

Le cabinet a continué de se développer, et le Dr Dudley Danoff l’a rejoint en 1971. Peu après, le nouveau Cedars-Sinai Medical Center a été construit et le cabinet a déménagé à son emplacement actuel, sur le campus de cet établissement médical renommé. Toutes nos installations chirurgicales et diagnostiques se sont agrandies au sein du centre médical, et de nouvelles technologies innovantes ont été ajoutées. La transplantation rénale a été introduite en 1972.


Le cabinet a poursuivi son expansion rapide avec le Dr Stuart (Skip) Holden, le Dr Stephen (Buddy) Sacks, le Dr Norman Nemoy, le Dr Arnold Cinman et la Dre Sharron Mee, première femme urologue au Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Le Dr Gary Leach a également rejoint l’équipe et a été reconnu internationalement comme un chef de file dans le domaine de l’incontinence féminine. Parmi les arrivées plus récentes figurent les Drs Josephson, Ng et Bui, tous experts en chirurgie robotique.


De nombreuses familles font confiance à notre équipe d’urologie depuis plus de 50 ans. Nous opérons souvent des grands-parents, des parents, des enfants et des petits-enfants, couvrant environ quatre générations. Tower Urology soigne plus de 40,000 patients et accueille encore environ 4,000 nouveaux patients chaque année. De nombreuses interventions chirurgicales et ambulatoires aujourd’hui couramment réalisées à Tower Urology ont été introduites au cours de la dernière décennie, notamment la lithotritie extracorporelle par ondes de choc (ESWL), traitement non chirurgical des calculs rénaux et urétéraux ; le traitement au laser des calculs ainsi que des affections de la vessie et de la prostate ; la laparoscopie ; des traitements injectables et implantables innovants pour le cancer de la prostate et de la vessie ainsi que les troubles sexuels ; l’échographie rénale et prostatique ; l’imagerie tomographique ; des examens diagnostiques chimiques complexes ; la thermothérapie par micro-ondes de l’HBP ; et le biofeedback pour l’incontinence urinaire. Nous continuons à développer et à faire progresser l’urologie, enrichissant l’histoire prestigieuse de TU.

If you are a patient at Tower Urology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, you are very fortunate because they are leaders in urology. The staff and technicians are friendly and professional, always smiling and approachable. The entire process runs smoothly and efficiently. Soon after you arrive, you are checked in, a kind nurse draws your blood, and a technician quickly comes to perform an ultrasound. Shortly afterward, my doctor, Dr. Danoff, comes in to review the results with you. He is highly skilled, thorough, quick-thinking, and personable, and his assistant Joanna is equally outstanding. Tower Urology is a first-rate practice, from the check-in staff, financial counselors, surgical schedulers, and physician assistants to Dr. Houman. Although affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, they clearly maintain a high degree of independence. Choosing to have my penile implant surgery here was an excellent decision!

The care of the patient is wonderful, mama hadn’t been in for almost 2 years but Dr was very pleasant and treated her nicely, the office staff however, there’s a matter of professionalism that lacks. Not all of course but unfortunately as the old saying goes “righteous suffer for the sins of the wicked” and as they all work together! Bad habits, actions and attitudes are easily followed. Coincidentally, we’re not there to make friends we’re just there so mama can be taken care of and she was.

Dr. Leach is the best! Bar none. I drive from South Orange County to see him and would consider no other. He did surgery on me 8 years ago, and gave me back a normal life. Competent and positive. Always upbeat. My wife loves him, too.

I was treated by Dr. Bui at Tower Urology in Beverly Hills for aggressive prostate cancer. Many physicians at Cedars Sinai consider him a master of prostatectomy. He is very conservative and clearly knowledgeable, and I am extremely grateful that he saved my life. The team at Tower Urology is excellent, and I have never had any problems in the past six years.

The experience was incredible from beginning to end. The front desk staff was efficient and friendly, making scheduling and check-in smooth and stress-free and setting a positive tone for the visit. The clinical staff was helpful and attentive and always ready to answer my questions. Most importantly, Dr. Houman was wonderful. He listened patiently, explained everything clearly, and made sure I felt comfortable and confident about my treatment plan. Scheduling was difficult, and the staff were rude. The doctor left for more than 20 minutes during a painful procedure to see another patient. He returned with a fake smile and denied the reason for the long delay. He was insincere and cold. I refused to schedule any other appointments. This is a very unpleasant place.

Dr. Bui is a rock star among prostate surgeons and is at the top of his field. When I was diagnosed at age 71 with Gleason 8, my wife and I interviewed several surgeons and chose Dr. Bui, even though he was out of network, because he had performed so many of these procedures with an extremely high success rate. Dr. Bui provided an exceptional level of care and communication. He spared my nerves, prevented erectile problems, and treated my extremely enlarged prostate. Recovery was relatively easy. Eight months later, my PSA is undetectable, I have no sexual problems, and the occasional minor incontinence has now resolved. I am extremely pleased with the treatment and care Dr. Bui provided and highly recommend him.

The surgery, including anesthesia, went very smoothly, with no postoperative pain or adverse reactions. Importantly, I could communicate with Dr. Josephson by text after surgery. My recovery was better than expected, and less than three weeks after surgery I was able to mountain bike and ski. I am very glad I chose Dr. Josephson and Cedars Sinai for this RP procedure.
