Long, but here are my notes: They never answer the phone. There is no patient portal. Records are poorly maintained. Their prediction technology is Google's calculator. No payment plans. The payment link on their website is a scam; they double-bill you, then ghost you. They adjust appointments based on the “weather,” so you must drive there only for them to leave for lunch. Long waits. At my first visit, I waited 1.5 hours, then Dr. Y kept checking the time. The IVF doctor had not read my history. I do not know how anyone misses a brain tumor, but she called days later and changed the plan to require a high-risk consultation first, even though Dr. Y and all my doctors said it was unnecessary before pregnancy. She seemed nervous/inexperienced. My positive genetic carrier result was never discussed. *She continually rubbed her pregnant belly. I received conflicting information. During IUI, the NP said my blood had inflammatory markers, although this was never tested; that a cyst was leaking fluid into the tube, although the doctor said it was contained; and that the tube should be flushed again with HSG after 3 months, although the doctor said not to repeat it so soon. These are only some examples. Someone posted about patients being confused with one another, and I can confirm it. They scheduled my husband, said everything was fine, then hesitated and asked his date of birth because another patient had the same name and they had scheduled the wrong person. It was 1000% like throwing darts. The IVF doctor said she had only been asked whether she could consult with me when I arrived. I did not transfer to RSC only because I did not want to start over. The NP dismissed me when I asked about aspirin for endometriosis. I started taking it and conceived naturally the second month, while the cyst shrank from 6 cm to 2 cm. Remember, this is a for-profit business; they will take advantage.

This is literally the worst experience I have ever had with medical professionals. We began our journey in January 2024. The first red flag: we requested a female provider and were told this would be noted in our chart. It was not. A man tried to perform my transvaginal ultrasound. No thank you. Second red flag: my husband went for a semen analysis that insurance covered 100%. At checkout, they asked him for $180. He had just provided the sample, felt embarrassed and wanted to leave, so he did not want to draw more attention. We were told we would receive a full refund, but have not received a cent. Third red flag: it is now September, and we have only had an ultrasound. For months, we called and emailed their authorization department. We are stuck and cannot proceed without a response from this department. I asked to be transferred to someone at the desk, but no one answered. Emails went unanswered indefinitely. I asked for the manager, but she neither answered nor returned calls. After 8 months in this mess, we decided to change clinics. These people do not care about the sensitivity and emotions involved in family planning. Spare yourself and your family the pain and do not use this clinic. I am disgusted by their lack of empathy regarding time-sensitive medical procedures. Shameful.

Terrible billing department. They sent us to collections while claiming they had not even tried billing insurance. A completely incompetent company.

I started at this clinic in 2021 after two unsuccessful clinics. I had heard great things about CFI, so we took the opportunity, especially because they accepted Progyny. The first appointment was months away, but meanwhile we did several IUIs at our current clinic and everything else we could, including diet, exercise, and supplements. The wait was awful but worthwhile. We loved NP Beverly. When our first retrieval produced only one good embryo and the transfer did not implant, she and Dr. Mesen reviewed my labs and ultrasounds for anything missed. They found no reason it failed; it was simply my body. We made small changes for a second retrieval and produced 4 good, tested embryos. We transferred one, and my son was born in April 2023. We are considering a second transfer early next year. The many negative reviews make me sad. Fertility medicine is not easy, and you must be especially diligent, but I am sorry others did not receive the care and attention they deserved. Insurance is the patient's responsibility, not the clinic's. I had to obtain all information from Progyny, including prior authorization. It is my insurance, and I was responsible for having everything ready before beginning or completing treatment. Some doctors, including Dr. Mesen, are direct, which does not suit everyone. Although he was our attending physician, we mainly worked with NP Beverly. We felt seen and heard, and she always responded. Sometimes we waited longer than I wanted, but at the time they had only one Charlotte location and the Winston-Salem location. They were very popular because they achieved good results. I had no billing problems until recently, when we received a collections bill without knowing what it was for and without any previous bill. It was completely shocking. I have not reached anyone at the clinic, but am trying to identify the charge before paying.

On June 18, my partner had a first and so far only visit. We were told an MRI was needed, but a month later no order had been placed. Their office followed up repeatedly, trying to learn why the imaging order was not processed. This is extremely frustrating, inconsiderate, and unprofessional when serving a sensitive patient population under time pressure. 7/22 update: They called back saying they would place the order “again,” but asked the patient for a fax number. If you already sent it, why must the patient provide a fax number? Why are we faxing in 2024? If you believed the order was placed a month ago but had no results, why did you not follow up? 8/27 update: MRI results were received, but the clinic has not followed up for weeks. Although my partner and I likely will not seek additional care from this provider, the lack of post-MRI follow-up further supports our initial concerns. I hope others have a better experience.

Please read the reviews before going. If I had, I would have avoided a great deal of trouble. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a doctor’s office, especially while already feeling vulnerable. I came only for a consultation about what the procedure would involve. Without my consent or any discussion of costs, they performed a vaginal ultrasound while the doctor mocked me for never having had one and not knowing what it was or why it was needed. No one called with the results. Instead, I received a bill for over $200 because insurance apparently did not cover all the tests they performed without discussing them with me. I have repeatedly tried to reach the finance department but get nowhere. Please do not go here!

Dr. Garneau Channen and Nurse Shay always make me feel safe and genuinely cared for. Sometimes I arrive feeling overwhelmed but leave encouraged by their support. They listen sincerely, respond compassionately, and offer encouraging guidance. I am extremely grateful to have them beside me during this journey, which can feel isolating.

I am very surprised by all the negative reviews. My wife and I feel extremely fortunate to have found CFI and Dr. Garneau. We both have complex medical histories and have seen many doctors. Dr. Garneau is unquestionably the best and most caring doctor we have met. We felt very well cared for and knew they genuinely cared about us. She did an excellent job with our retrieval, and we are deeply grateful to her and the entire clinic. Highly recommended.
    Dec 16, 2024
I was Dr. Garneau's patient for about 10 months. During that time, I underwent septum surgery, IUI, miscarriage/D&C, egg retrieval, and multiple transfers, and now I am pregnant! Throughout everything, I felt extremely well cared for and supported. She is unquestionably the most compassionate doctor I have worked with. She spent substantial time explaining what we were doing at every step and why. She always let us ask as many questions as needed and gave thoughtful, thorough answers. She presented every option and never pressured us into anything that made us uncomfortable. Our appointments never felt rushed! My medical history is complex, and Dr. Garneau went above and beyond to accommodate and research interactions with my existing medical needs/medications, recommend the best protocol, and communicate directly with my other doctors. Her deep concern for patients was obvious from the beginning. Dr. Garneau made an almost unbearable process better, and we always looked forward to seeing her at appointments. I strongly recommend Dr. Garneau to everyone. We trust her completely and already look forward to working with her again for baby #2! We are fortunate to be in her care. The entire staff, from reception to the nurses, are wonderful. We truly felt they cared about us and never felt like a number. We worked closely with Nurse Christina and also felt her care and support. We are very grateful to CFI!

I tried to edit my original review, but there was a technical problem with my Google account... I want to begin by saying that last week we celebrated the birth of our first son! We had previously experienced 3 miscarriages, and the past few years were very difficult. We are certainly grateful for our son and for CFI. There is no doubt he would not be here without their help. That said, my original review was 1 star, and it absolutely deserves to be revised from 1 to 3 stars. This journey is extremely emotional. For some people there are incredible lows and incredible highs. I believe we experienced the entire spectrum. Our overall outcome was ideal—a healthy, beautiful child—but on many occasions Dr. Y was very unfamiliar with our patient information and where we were in the specific process. My wife and I both work in healthcare and understand that everything begins with a basic chart review. My wife repeatedly corrected Dr. Y about the type of protocol she was following. We drove 4 hours and took days off to see him, yet he did not know our names or what was happening in our care plan, which was disturbing. Technology was the main problem. I had a very serious conversation with Dr. Y about these issues, considering that we had paid his company over $50,000 for what was, IMO, low-quality care and poor customer service. Afterward, he significantly improved the quality of care for our specific case. It was clear at our next appointment and Zoom call that he had reviewed the chart and was more professional and prepared. After I gave him strong feedback, he personally called us with test results. I hope this becomes the norm for all future patients. This may be the longest review here, but my wife and I believe families should know this information. Would I do it again? Yes—how could I say no? But this place was very difficult at times. God bless you all on your journey. I hope this helps.

My wife and I are extremely happy. This place made our dream a reality. Thank you, CFI.

Do not go here! DR. Mesen is the worst!! The office is clean, and the medical assistants and nurses are very kind and helpful. The doctor is extremely unprofessional and cold. Without performing appropriate testing, he rejected my wife based on his opinion, leaving her deeply hurt and discouraged. We sought a second opinion from another clinic with a female doctor. She performed the necessary tests and encouraged my wife, saying she was an excellent IVF candidate. Unlike Dr. Mesen, the second clinic treated my wife with respect and care. Dr. Mesen, please learn how to speak to people, even if you believe IVF is not possible.

Our experience with CFI throughout the pregnancy was excellent. We are very grateful to all the staff: doctors, nurses, and receptionists. Everyone was kind and helpful. Although our language barrier worried me, they were always willing to find a way to communicate with us. I especially thank Emma Hernández for her warm assistance throughout treatment. She served as our interpreter and was always ready to help with any questions. Without a doubt, she was an essential partner during our pregnancy. I strongly recommend this clinic to anyone who wants children.

I cannot say enough good things about CFI! The entire staff is wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely caring. I felt supported throughout the process. Special thanks to Dr. Garneau. I highly recommend CFI to everyone!

If communication is important to you, this is definitely not the clinic for you. I am shocked that this clinic claims to have won numerous awards as an outstanding fertility clinic, because my spouse's and my experience was far from that. Infertility is already an exhausting process, and the CFI team's ongoing poor communication and lack of support made it worse. Over several months, I raised my concerns with multiple team members. They told me they would "talk to the team," but nothing changed. My in-clinic visits were usually good, but the conversations between appointments—which are essential if you know anything about fertility medicine—provided inconsistent and even contradictory information. One communication error nearly forced me to wait another cycle for IUI because they were unprepared. It caused tremendous distress, physical and emotional exhaustion, and wasted time, money, and a precious cycle. Honestly, I cannot wait to become pregnant so I no longer have to deal with CFI. We will never seek their help to have another child.

Dr. Garneau is one of the kindest people I have ever met!

Dr. Garneau was excellent during my egg retrieval. She was very kind and knowledgeable and made me feel at ease throughout the process. I am very grateful for her attentive, professional care.

We had the best experience! They went above and beyond, and we are very grateful for everything they did for us. Highly recommend CFI.

My experience at this clinic was terrible. My OB-GYN originally referred me to Dr. Mason, but I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. I work in healthcare and care for patients every day, but several doctors had terrible bedside manners. I was told I could be seen immediately, then waited in the lobby for more than 30 minutes for a scheduled procedure, only to be told it would not work. I was then taken back and waited another 20 minutes for the doctor. When I sincerely expressed frustration that my time had been wasted—I had taken time off work specifically for this—Dr. Gano told me I needed to see a psychiatrist. No, I value my job, whose salary makes infertility treatment possible, and I expect my doctors to value my time and communicate accordingly. We did not even complete the scheduled intrauterine insemination (IUI) because they washed away my husband's entire sample, yet they still billed both me and my insurance. I will not return and will recommend that anyone who asks go elsewhere. The key points basically describe a bad boyfriend... Lacks empathy Wastes your time Does not communicate Sends mixed signals Deceives you for your money Gaslights you and says you need treatment

We are so happy! Our dream came true. Special thanks to Dr. Garneau, who supported me from the beginning. It was certainly a challenging process, and we will always be grateful. I highly recommend them!

We love the doctors and staff here. They have always supported us. They are truly patient-centered and provide personalized care, and we will always be grateful that they helped us create our miracle. We highly recommend this clinic!

Wonderful experience and an excellent team of specialists. We would return and feel so fortunate to have our little baby!
    Oct 26, 2025
We tried every other clinic, but their staff always left us in tears. We finally heard about CFI, and I scheduled an appointment without telling my husband because we had been disappointed so many times. But Dr. Y and his staff were truly wonderful. I was nervous when I saw Dr. Mesen once, but like Dr. Y, he was welcoming, easy to talk to, and took the time to make us feel like individuals rather than a "#" they were taking advantage of. I highly recommend CFI.
    Oct 26, 2025
I would not have my beautiful daughter without everyone at CFI.
    Nov 27, 2025
This clinic performed my procedure without prior authorization from my insurance company. They later refused to accept any responsibility, leaving us with a $5,000 bill and no pregnancy. The billing representative even admitted that they called my insurer to verify whether the medical code they intended to use required prior authorization, but then used a different code without checking it.
    Nov 13, 2025
Yes! Choose them! This review is long, but trust me and keep reading... Whether this is your first time seeking fertility care or, like us, you have visited other clinics and feel hopeless, stop searching. Dr. Mesen and Dr. Y are unquestionably among the best in the field. Over the previous five years, we saw many well-known, even "celebrity," doctors in Los Angeles and Atlanta. We completed three full IVF cycles and had another canceled for various reasons before finally looking for the right doctor near our home in Charlotte. After reading 99.9% positive reviews of CFI and speaking with patients through Facebook support groups, we made one of the best decisions of our lives and consulted Dr. Y. We expected to have to explain our entire infertility history all over again, as we had at other clinics. Instead, Dr. Y took the time to review our extensive test results, data, physicians' notes, prior IVF outcomes, and more, and he truly understood our story. He was warm, kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and direct. Dr. Mesen, who handled most of my appointments, was the same. If you truly want help and answers, you do not want anyone to sugarcoat the situation. We learned at other clinics that this only leads to pain, unanswered questions, wasted time, lost money, and no baby. From the beginning, Dr. Y and Dr. Mesen created a thoughtful treatment plan and asked us to trust them and their leading advanced laboratory technology. We had never encountered this technology elsewhere; other clinics had not even mentioned that it existed or how it could change treatment outcomes. We trusted them completely. They shared information and options at every step. Whenever we had an appointment, emailed, or called, the entire CFI staff in Charlotte and Winston-Salem showed exceptional professionalism, communication skills, and empathy. Other clinics had made us feel like just another patient. If you hear that CFI has long waits, whether for an initial consultation or on the day of an appointment, ask yourself two questions: "Do I care more about waiting to see the doctor, or waiting those precious 9 months for the baby I never thought I would have?" and "Would I rather see a doctor immediately in an empty waiting room and be rushed through, or visit a busy clinic where the doctor takes time with every patient, understands each case, and has a long waitlist for a reason?" We chose the latter. In May 2021, at age 42, my 53-year-old husband and I welcomed our beautiful daughter. Dr. Y and Dr. Mesen made the right choices on the first try. My best advice is to go to CFI and trust them. If they tell you to delay a transfer, egg retrieval, or any other procedure because of X, Y, or Z, trust them. They are experienced and deservedly recognized among the country's leading fertility specialists. 🥰 Finally, special thanks to Lori Marion at CFI, who was our lifesaver. She is kindhearted and wonderful! We highly recommend CFI—one million stars. 😍🤩😁

This was the worst medical experience of my life. Dr. Mason is the most unprofessional, inconsiderate, and impatient doctor I have ever met. Please do not dismiss my review. I left the clinic feeling deeply violated. From the moment we entered his office, he was indifferent toward me. He spoke extremely quickly, and the entire visit was filled with negativity. He offered almost no treatment options and only listed negative statistics. He even explicitly stated that he had not reviewed my medical records because they were 50 pages long. I believe discrimination was a key factor in this visit, and I will continue filing complaints and pursuing the matter. My husband was also extremely angry, but he remained calm and did nothing inappropriate. The ultrasound room did not even have towels. My transvaginal ultrasound was extremely distressing. Even hours after the visit, I could still feel the pressure, which made me feel even more violated. This man should not be practicing medicine. While we waited to enter his office, he shouted from inside while nurses whispered nearby that he could attend their barbecue. He implied that he would ‘fit right in!’ Every part of the visit was humiliating. I regret wasting any time there. I will make sure my insurance company denies the claim. I had to ask about other options because he offered none. He actually suggested removing my uterus?! I clearly said no, I only wanted the fibroids removed, and he agreed?! Who is this person? He is the most unprofessional and rude doctor I have ever encountered. Edit: I wrote this review in the morning while I was still anxious and upset by the experience. Think carefully before choosing this practice. The negative reviews about Dr. Mason are true. Update: After my terrible experience at this clinic, I switched to Carolina Conceptions. My baby is now almost a toddler. Trust your instincts and your heart. Do not let vulnerability and emotion lead you to settle. Find the right medical practice and team to support your fertility journey. If something feels wrong, it is not right for you. 🙏🏽❤️🙌🏽

We had a few minor setbacks before starting IVF, but things improved afterward. The nurses and Dr. Mason were wonderful. Heather was our primary nurse and truly a blessing. Since IVF began, time has flown. Although the process is emotionally exhausting, having such a great team made everything much easier. We hope to graduate next week and look forward to working with them again for more babies in the future! 💜

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Mason and all the wonderful nurses and staff at Carolina Fertility Institute (CFI). Over the past 16 months, we received compassionate, personalized care. We could not imagine a kinder team; they went above and beyond to ensure we felt heard and comfortable at every step of our fertility journey. We highly recommend Carolina Fertility Institute.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I am sharing concerns about my experience, particularly the organization, communication, and care coordination during two IVF cycles in December 2025 and March 2026. Throughout treatment, repeated problems made an already stressful process even more difficult. My results were delayed several times, and some had been available for days before anyone notified me. This happened more than once. Different nurses also contacted me about the same result without knowing the information had already been shared. This repeated lack of internal coordination was frustrating and made me question whether choosing them as my provider had been wise. During my second egg retrieval cycle, my treatment plan was changed without advance notice, leaving us completely unprepared on the day of the procedure. Although the doctor apologized, which I appreciated, the incident caused unnecessary stress and affected my trust in the treatment process and care team. A recent communication also made me uncomfortable. I was told that we had already discussed the "most likely outcome," implying that no further discussion was needed. Given the complexity and emotional burden of fertility treatment, this response felt dismissive and did not meet the level of communication and support I expected. When I chose this clinic, I fully understood my prognosis and had realistic expectations about possible outcomes. However, I did not expect this to affect the level of communication, coordination, and attention from the care team. Unfortunately, my experience has left me deeply regretting my decision to choose them. Clear, timely, and coordinated communication is essential during a complex process like IVF.

I called and left messages several times requesting a refund of my consultation fee because the earliest appointment this clinic could offer was February 2021, and my insurance did not cover the procedure. My circumstances were unusual, and I could not wait 90 days to see a doctor. They disclosed this timeline only after I paid. Initially, they said the refund would be returned to my card. After I repeatedly called about it, I was told the company does not refund credit cards. I had been calling since early November. Why could they not simply return the payment to my card? They told me refunds are mailed only by check and are not returned to credit cards. This felt very suspicious. They required me to pay a $240 appointment fee over the phone, then refused a refund if I canceled or did not want to wait months to see a doctor. They should have disclosed the schedule before booking the appointment; I would never have agreed to those terms. This raises serious integrity concerns and many questions. It is certainly not excellent customer service. Who knows how they treat patients and embryos... Response to the clinic director: The clinic could not tell me when the payment was mailed or provide a check number, and I still have not received it. Your response is inaccurate, dismissive, and shows no investigation. If the check was truly mailed, there is no reason not to return my calls. I suspect this is not the first time this has happened, and everyone at Carolina Fertility seems indifferent. I imagine everyone is enjoying lunch and laughing at me. There is not one honest person there.

We completed one IVF cycle here with Dr. Mason. Although it was unsuccessful, Dr. Mason was wonderful throughout. I saw him many times compared with other clinics I have visited, where I barely saw the doctor. He even called several times with updates. He is direct, but I sincerely recommend him. He did everything possible to achieve a good result. The nurses were also wonderful and communicated very well. He explained everything patiently and thoroughly, and I understand that IVF clinics are busy. The only issue was the clinic's egg donor program. Communication was poor, responses took several days, and we missed out on an excellent egg donor. I therefore decided to go elsewhere, but for standard IVF, they were wonderful!

Words cannot express how grateful I am to Carolina Fertility Institute. Today was my embryo transfer, and the entire experience was amazing. Excellent service: From the moment we entered the institute, the atmosphere felt warm, organized, and reassuring. Their attention to every detail brought me tremendous relief on such an emotional day. Outstanding team: From the nurses and embryologists to the doctors, every staff member treated me like family and was fully committed to my care. They patiently answered every question and made sure my partner and I felt supported, well informed, and comfortable at every step. Exceptional care: The medical care here is first-rate. The procedure was smooth and calm and demonstrated the highest level of professionalism. Fertility treatment can be a stressful journey, but at Carolina Fertility Institute, you feel like more than just a patient. They give you hope and treat you with genuine kindness. We are incredibly grateful to the entire team!

I had an excellent experience at this clinic and would return for any future fertility needs. We were very pleased with the nurses and doctors, especially Dr. Mason. My baby is now almost two and a half months old! Thank you so much for their attentive care.

I do not recommend this clinic unless you do not want to learn why you cannot conceive naturally. Their only goal is to push IVF, and they treat you poorly if you are not interested. After two years of infertility, I spent several months there. Because I declined IVF, they put me through several medicated cycles. I saw a different person at every visit, and no one knew my history, so I had to explain everything each time. They were visibly annoyed whenever I asked questions and pushed IVF at every visit. I eventually found a real doctor who cared enough to investigate the root cause of my infertility. I had surgery and conceived naturally three months later. I am now naturally pregnant with baby number 2.
    Aug 23, 2024
CFI helped us conceive, and our IVF baby is now almost nine months old. Dr. Yalcinkaya was excellent, as were all the nurse practitioners we met at CFI. However, I gave four stars because of some setbacks during IVF. First, we had recurring billing problems. We frequently received CFI bills only to discover claims had been denied because they billed our primary insurance rather than fertility insurance. Although the issues were eventually resolved, frequent errors added unnecessary stress to an already difficult time. Second, we had a poor experience with Dr. Mesen, who was supposed to perform the embryo transfer while Dr. Yalcinkaya was away. A pre-transfer ultrasound showed we needed to postpone one month. Unfortunately, Dr. Mesen communicated this change without the sensitivity and empathy we expected. His answers felt curt, nearly callous, and left my wife in tears. I understand doctors may encounter this often, but the lack of compassion was surprising and painful. I hope CFI sees this feedback and works to improve an otherwise amazing experience.

Care was attentive until my plan changed from IVF to corrective surgery. I left messages and have heard nothing for more than a month.

The quality of this practice has declined greatly. I first visited more than a year ago after my gynecologist referred me. The appointment went well because the doctor was knowledgeable. Later I called for follow-up and was told there was a billing problem. I immediately contacted my insurer, which then contacted Amanda about the bill. Days later, the insurance representative said she had reached out but no one returned her call. I personally called Amanda to correct the issue and became frustrated after leaving messages for two weeks. I called other offices asking for this location's manager, but calls were never answered or promptly returned. I was told to speak with Melissa at the Winston office, who works with Amanda. I left Melissa several messages and received a callback months later saying it would be investigated. I followed up again. More than a year later, I returned because my primary doctor said I needed to be seen. I arrived after the appointment time and had to reschedule, which was fine, but then was told I had an outstanding balance. I asked to speak with billing and again got Amanda. I sat in her office for more than an hour discussing the office's lack of communication. She promised Melissa would contact me the next day and that she would contact me by day's end after speaking with billing. Before leaving, I said my insurer would reach out. She said that would be good, although the billing deadline had passed. I called my insurer as soon as I reached my car. They called the office three times. No one responded to messages left a month earlier, and to this day we have received no follow-up. This is the worst display of professionalism—or lack of it—I have experienced. There is no excuse. I excel in service, and this practice fails in that area.

If you want to feel like just a number, this is the place for you. They do not communicate, forget you in the waiting room, and even forget scheduled telehealth appointments. The doctor's office clearly does not care about patients, which is incredibly demoralizing. If I could do it again, I would drive two extra hours to avoid this place.

An excellent practice. Simply put, our case was unique and complex, with a maze of administrative paperwork, claims, and other issues. CFI's billing and insurance team went above and beyond to help my family and ensure our needs were met. The doctors and medical staff are knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. We look forward to continuing our IVF journey with CFI.

This facility is slowly declining. Sadly, the nurses are mean and rude and do not care about you at all! Dr. Y cares more about money than anything else. They truly do not care here.
    Jan 3, 2025
I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous and unprofessional this facility is. My experience with Dr. Yalcinkaya and the nurses and staff at CFI's Winston-Salem location was absolutely terrible. My entire experience there was chaotic. The nurse assigned to my care did not have me sign any consent forms before treatment, gave me no preoperative instructions—which could have led to my death—did not provide leuprolide as part of my prescribed trigger shot, and failed to perform the saline ultrasound recommended by Dr. Y. I was also misled about the number of follicles retrieved on the day of surgery. When I asked Dr. Y about it, he literally ran out of my recovery room to avoid answering the question. My recovery was also much worse than after procedures at other fertility clinics. I bled more heavily and for longer than in previous cycles, making me concerned that Dr. Y's care of my body was seriously inadequate. The financial coordinator was no better. Megan tried to send me a template form for a completely different patient who had undergone a completely different procedure. This led me to pay nearly $3,000 more than required. Even during monitoring appointments, many care staff seemed exhausted and uninterested in their work. The nurse who drew my blood was visibly ill with a cold but still working, placing patients at unnecessary risk. If you value your time, safety, and investment, avoid this place.
    Dec 24, 2024
Edit: A few hours later, the nurses put my insurance back on file and I was able to schedule the appointment. The staff were wonderful, helped me relax throughout the process, and the procedure was quick. Hopefully it works—fingers crossed and prayers! I am still somewhat bothered that I received no notice before the appointment that my insurance was no longer on file. In any case, the nurses worked hard to resolve the problem, and I appreciate that. (Original review) The technicians are always kind and pleasant. My concern is professionalism. I scheduled an appointment to begin IUI, and after the ultrasound they told me they did not have my insurance on file and that I had to pay $1,300 within three days. I have insurance, but it had been removed from my file. No one had ever called me to ask about it.

A heartbreaking experience. I would not recommend this group. They are 100% about money. We had been trying to have a child for more than nine years and were referred to CFI Fertility Center at Lyndhurst Gynecology. We met Dr. Yalcinkaya, and after testing and laboratory work, he immediately told me I was a good candidate for IVF. He assured us that IVF had an 80% success rate at age 41, which sounded optimistic and gave us hope of a successful pregnancy. During my first IVF cycle, the doctor and his support staff provided very little information, and I felt forced to accept it. The procedure was also extremely painful. Even a simple blood draw was very painful; the nurse stuck me about six times just to draw blood. After consulting other clinics, I learned there were other options, such as IUI and medication. The doctor had not even suggested these options, and when I asked him about them, he dismissed them. During the first egg retrieval, my husband noticed problems with equipment in the embryo laboratory, but Dr. Y told us it was only temporarily down. After the procedure, they said they had retrieved more than 20 follicles and expected many embryos. However, the laboratory technician called the next day to say only 3 had fertilized, then 5, and ultimately only 1 had 'succeeded.' When we reached Dr. Y, he assured us that this embryo was 'in good condition and had formed, so we should not worry...' Then came heartbreaking news: genetic testing showed that the first embryo had Down syndrome, so they discarded everything. When I asked the laboratory whether this was normal, they said 'no.' A laboratory technician should not be responsible for calling a woman with such devastating news. A medical professional, especially a doctor, should communicate it and help the patient understand the next steps. CFI has so many patients that it does not make time for these calls or incorporate this level of patient empathy and bedside manner into its process. When I gave the clinic feedback about the laboratory technician calling me with these results, I did not get the impression that CFI was interested in improving its patient care process. Throughout the process, I felt like another number and a patient being rushed through. We spent more than $20,000 on medication and procedures and had nothing to show for it. When I discussed it further, I was told it was my fault because of my AMH level and age—41, by the way. If you want to become pregnant, stay away from this facility. They are only interested in your money.

Your story may be like mine. After my OB-GYN offered one option—a traditional C-section-style myomectomy—to remove the tumors in my body, I began searching. I learned about the robotic myomectomy performed here and had my referral transferred, expecting no obstacles. I quickly received a response asking whether I wanted to address any fertility issues. I was confused. The surgery was meant to help me become pregnant later. But they were clearly addressing something else, and every email implied it. I realized they would not perform a robotic myomectomy unless I was also addressing fertility issues. I was later referred to a facility more than two hours away. Hmm. The website should state: Our staff will not provide other services unless they relate to fertility issues, as defined by us. Keep in mind that I was told there was a 6-8 month backlog. But no one ever asked whether I wanted to join the waiting list.

CFI and Dr. Yalcinkaya helped me grow my family, and I will always be grateful! Everyone I encountered at the clinic was highly helpful and professional. I am glad to have such a world-class team in Winston!

We are traveling patients at CFI. After extensive research about where to go next, my husband and I decided to try CFI. It was one of our best decisions! Everyone is very kind, and Liz always goes out of her way to help whenever I have a question or concern. I know I am not a typical patient, but I trust Dr. Y and his team to help us succeed, and when they do, we will bring home one or two babies.
    Jun 26, 2025
Special thanks to Liz at the Winston-Salem clinic. Whenever I call the Winston nurse line, Liz quickly calls back. She always listens patiently to my questions and made me feel more comfortable during my first procedure in Winston. Although Winston-Salem is not my primary clinic, Liz made me feel at home. She is highly compassionate, and you can genuinely sense how much she cares about her work and patients.

Everyone here is very friendly. From the moment I checked in, I felt genuinely welcomed. Nurse Liz helped me understand the process and carefully reviewed every step with me.

Wow...this fertility clinic is exactly what I had been looking for! The staff are patient, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Every interaction with the clinic was pleasant, especially with IVF coordinator Liz. She was enormously helpful during this stressful time! Absolutely wonderful!!!

Dr. Y and his team have supported us since I began my infertility journey. From learning at age 25 that I was in menopause, through miscarriage, adoption, and eventually childbirth, Dr. Y supported us throughout. Despite my difficult diagnosis and need for donor eggs, he accepted me as a patient. He helped me find the right medications and hormone replacement therapy, and ultimately transferred our last and only successful embryo. After bad experiences at other clinics, he accepted us, believed in me, and involved me in decisions. He let me cry and became more than a doctor—he was someone I could share all my feelings with. Without his team and God, we would not have our little girl. I am so grateful for his support during our break to adopt. I have referred 3 other families to CFI, and they all now have children. We thank God for giving him the ability to help families like ours.

Going to CFI and seeing Dr. Yalcinkaya was the best decision I ever made. Dr. Yalcinkaya is the best reproductive endocrinologist in the area. He and his team not only helped me become pregnant, but also found the cause of my infertility and saved my life. Dr. Yalcinkaya is highly professional and knowledgeable and orders every necessary test. With his extensive experience, he immediately identified the reason I could not become pregnant during an ultrasound. He is kind, compassionate, and a genuinely good person. I am prone to anxiety, but Dr. Yalcinkaya and his team made me feel completely at ease. The nurses explained everything clearly, and the financial team was efficient and always helpful. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Yalcinkaya. I had been unable to become pregnant for ten years and had seen two other doctors, but only Dr. Yalcinkaya helped me fulfill that dream and have my daughter. He found two causes of my infertility, so it is no longer a mystery. My diagnosis made my condition complex and treatment difficult, but Dr. Yalcinkaya's experience and hard work made the process much easier. I highly recommend Dr. Yalcinkaya and his team.

I am incredibly grateful to CFI. Dr. Yalcinkaya and his team went above and beyond and were always available to answer our questions and concerns. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Y and his team! We found them after four recurrent miscarriages. They carefully reviewed our history and listened closely to our concerns. We are now 11 weeks and 2 days pregnant and are deeply thankful to the CFI and WVFI teams. ❤️ Dr. Y is absolutely the best! We highly recommend them!

My infertility journey began at another clinic and eventually brought me to CFI. Thank God I chose this place. They are truly among the best in the field. We now have an almost two-year-old CFI child, and I am currently 25 weeks pregnant with our second CFI baby. Dr. Y is a gem in reproductive medicine. CFI's laboratory is also amazing, with cutting-edge technology and first-rate laboratory staff. Keep up the great work, embryologists! Words cannot express how grateful we are to everyone at CFI and WVFI. CFI is not only a leader in reproductive medicine; their financial counselor Carissa is also outstanding. Before my most recent embryo transfer, I changed insurance and received a huge bill for more than $1,700. Carissa helped me throughout the process, explaining step by step how to handle the insurance issue. She also made calls on our behalf and ultimately had the bill corrected to $25. With a new baby on the way, that was a tremendous relief. We love this clinic so much. I cannot put my gratitude into words. I have referred many friends and relatives here. If you are considering assisted reproductive technology, this is absolutely the best choice.

Initially, I was excited and pleased with Dr. Yalcinkaya and Dr. Sadri. 1) As we progressed, I had to interact with Marcy, who seems frustrated with her job despite having been there many years. If you know nothing about the patient you are speaking with and become annoyed whenever they ask a question, reconsider what you are doing. She was extremely irritated at every visit. I do not know why she is there. If you dislike your work, do something else. 3) Avia, Crystal, the ultrasound technician at Winston-Salem, the petite phlebotomist, Dr. Y's dark-haired nurse, the nurse with an accent, the embryologist, Penny in billing, and Megan in billing were all excellent! They were informative, competent, friendly, and direct, which is especially important in health care. Patients also pay substantial treatment costs, and many face deeply personal and sensitive challenges. I was fortunate not to encounter many challenges other patients face. 4) Care should therefore be more personalized, and they do this poorly. Either Dr. Y was not transparent and honest with us, or Dr. Sadri was dishonest, or perhaps he should remain in his specialty—male urology. Frankly, based on the embryologist's comments, I do not think he knew what he was talking about. He was involved only because of his role with my husband. Now I trust neither him nor Dr. Y, whom I thought highly of before he ghosted us. We were always low-maintenance, friendly patients. Dr. Yalcinkaya appears to have too many patients. Personalized care is being delayed and compromised.

The insurance department is incompetent and unprofessional and will make you pay thousands because they do not want to submit prior authorization. After five months of back-and-forth, it still had not been submitted. My insurer called them four times asking for the required documents. They promised to submit them but never did. Patty in that department lied to me in February that authorization had been submitted and approved. I requested review of my call with her. The office manager would not return calls about my complaint but called quickly when they mistakenly sent me a refund check. Choose another fertility clinic and save your money.

Dr. Y is among the best in his field. We have a beautiful 21-month-old girl and expect our second daughter in October. Thank you, Dr. Y, for making our dream come true.

This business is a complete scam. My OB referred me here. At my only in-person treatment visit, they performed an ultrasound and I met Dr. Y. The ultrasound specialist indicated I had a good chance using my own eggs. Then Dr. Y called me old and said all my eggs were bad. He looked at my husband, said he would have no viable sperm, and urged us to speak with their egg-donor specialist. Note that he spoke with us for only 15 minutes after making us wait more than an hour. My husband and I both had labs drawn that day and spoke with the IVF/egg-donor staff. They pressured us to use donor eggs as our only option. That was in January. Since then, all contact has been by email. There has not been another in-person visit, and it is now May. Caronlinas Fertility scheduled countless appointments for me with MFM groups and ordered numerous tests, including a stress test costing $700 out of pocket. None had merit or justification because I arrived with excellent labs and a doctor's assessment of perfect health. So far I have paid more than $5,000, but the facility has done nothing beyond the first January meeting. When I casually mentioned that they had only one Hispanic egg donor available if we chose that route, the egg-donor/IVF team sent me a $12,000 bill. There was no in-person agreement or signed form saying this was what we wanted—nothing, only casual email discussion! I had to dispute the bill because I never agreed to use the only donor they offered for my ethnicity. We received another bill charging our insurance $14,000. Yes, 14k. We owed $300 out of pocket for tests performed on my husband's labs without any abnormal findings! They are scammers! They invent tests, examinations, and appointments solely to bill insurance. Insurance has paid them more than $30,000, yet they have done nothing! I am disgusted by this facility and how it exploits couples. Scammers! I went to Carolina Conceptions and found a genuine fertility facility that does the groundwork to ensure we first try conceiving with my eggs, with other options available if that fails. They do not send me for unnecessary procedures just to bill insurance. I accomplished more in 3 weeks at Carolina Conceptions than in 5 months at CFI. Stay away! They inflate insurance costs and charge you for everything! I still receive false bills for improper charges submitted to my insurance! You should be ashamed.

No one answers or returns your calls. You must call repeatedly, hoping to find someone with enough compassion to connect you with help. My first doctor never sent my prescription. Although months have passed, I still have not been assigned another doctor. You are forced to keep fighting for even 5 minutes of their time when you need to schedule something or have medication ordered. They show no empathy for how it feels to be trying to have a child.

An absolutely wonderful experience! I am so glad I was referred to Carolina Fertility Institute. They helped bring us one step closer to our dream of having a family. Dr. Y and all the staff are consummate professionals; you can tell they truly love their work and care about patients. From our first appointment through multiple IUI cycles and a successful IVF cycle, we were honored to have such an excellent team of doctors, nurses, and staff. I highly recommend them for fertility treatment!

We had a wonderful experience at Carolina Fertility Institute! From the moment we walked in, the welcoming reception staff greeted us with warm smiles and friendly manners, immediately putting us at ease. Throughout the process, the doctors and nurses consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable at every visit. Their extensive knowledge and genuine care were evident as they patiently answered all our questions, however small. We greatly appreciated the time they took to explain each step, turning a potentially stressful experience into a positive and reassuring one. It is rare to find a medical practice where the entire process, from initial consultation to follow-up, is as seamless and coordinated as it is at Carolina Fertility Institute. Every aspect of our care reflected professionalism and empathy and left a lasting impression. We felt fully supported and cared for throughout our treatment and will always be grateful for their dedication to patients. Thank you, Dr. Y, and your entire team!

My personal treatment journey at CFI has included both successes and setbacks. Every interaction, whether by phone or in person, made me feel the genuine care of the staff and providers and included a follow-up plan. If you are researching clinics and providers such as CFI or Dr. Yalcinkaya, this is absolutely the right place! I love the GSO—and WS—team!

Hannah and the Greensboro clinic are both wonderful. We are deeply grateful for your dedication and support during our IVF treatment. Your expertise and encouragement helped us through a difficult time.

10/10 recommend CFI and Dr. Yalcinkaya! We were referred to his clinic while trying to conceive in 2020. Dr. Y was very patient and informative throughout the process. We usually visited the Greensboro office but also went regularly to the Winston-Salem office. The staff at both locations were exceptional. I would recommend CFI again and again!
    Jun 20, 2025
I love the staff and community at CFI. They are always willing to answer your questions and reassure you. I visit the Greensboro office most often, and the staff there are always wonderful. Sometimes the wait is long, but where can you go without waiting?
    Jun 15, 2025
If I could, I would give zero stars. I have been there for nearly a year and am still being brushed off, no closer to success. Communication repeatedly fails. It is nearly impossible to reach a nurse, and I have been unable to receive any treatment for two consecutive months because the care team has not returned my calls or allowed me to proceed to the next step. By the time I finally receive a callback, it is “too late this month,” and nothing can be done. They gave me a nurse's “direct line” to make her “easier to reach,” but I still had no success. Infertility treatment is already frustrating and emotional. The team's lack of patient service and respect placed even more pressure on my husband and me, forcing us to seek guidance elsewhere. It is deeply disappointing to have wasted so much valuable time at a place that was not committed to helping us succeed. My advice: Avoid Carolina Fertility Institute at all costs!
    Jun 13, 2025
We are extremely grateful to CFI! The staff are very compassionate and understand the many challenges of infertility. They answered all our questions and explained everything clearly. Dr. Y is highly experienced, and we trusted his expertise while also feeling that he respected our opinions and boundaries regarding how to proceed with in vitro fertilization (IVF). We look forward to the birth of our miracle daughter in a few months. Although we are happy to have finally moved beyond this difficult period, I sometimes miss the nurses at CFI. During the year we worked with them, they came to feel like friends. If you are experiencing infertility, I am deeply sorry, but please know that you will receive excellent care at CFI.

Ironically, the only fertile thing at Carolina Fertility is the word ‘fertility.’ They ‘specialize’ in helping people have children but treat patients as if we were born yesterday. This is honestly one of the most unprofessional, indifferent, and uncommunicative medical practices I have visited. My wife and I arrived about 5 minutes early for our first appointment, only to be told the doctor was running an hour late and we could return in an hour or reschedule. There was no advance notice before we drove there, and we did not want to risk waiting another two months for an opening. Even more absurdly, when we arrived about 8 minutes late for the next appointment, they suddenly remembered how to use the phone. The office called to say we were late and needed to reschedule—absolutely not! Most staff lack customer service and interpersonal skills, and if your appointment is late in the afternoon, most lights are already off and the remaining staff treat you as a nuisance, rushing you out faster than a package at an Amazon warehouse. Unlike Amazon, however, do not expect anything urgent to happen. When tasks are not completed, everyone deflects or blames another employee or department. Good luck getting answers to financial questions. Prescriptions are sent incorrectly or not at all, with almost no explanation or education about medications they expect you to start. At our last visit, my wife was told an important antibiotic was being sent to our pharmacy immediately after her procedure. We drove straight there, and no prescription had been received. We called and left messages every day for the next three days, but more than a week later, we still had no response. Apparently, it was not important after all. ‘Unimportant’ seems to be Carolina Fertility’s guiding principle. You are treated as a number and must handle almost everything yourself. If you still choose this place after reading all the one-star reviews, once you meet ‘Dr. Y,’ you will wonder why you ignored the warnings. Avoid this place as carefully as an unintended pregnancy.
    Aug 18, 2025
Unfortunately, my experience with this clinic has not been good, and I do not recommend it. It takes days to reach someone for a simple question. Medications arrive at my pharmacy without anyone explaining what they are or why they are needed. Infertility is physically and emotionally exhausting, and receiving treatment at a clinic that communicates poorly about follow-up or requires you to leave messages just to get updates is extremely frustrating. I hope things improve. I do not want to switch clinics and start over.

Words cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Y. During the hardest period of my life, he was my lifeline. From the first phone consultation, this was the only clinic that did not leave me in tears. Everyone I met was warm, gentle, and truly understood my situation. Dr. Y is extremely knowledgeable, patient, thorough, and supportive. He took time to explain everything and gave me hope when I had almost none left. He was the only doctor able to help me—and because of him, our first IVF attempt gave us our beautiful daughter. I will always be grateful. Dr. Y did more than guide me through treatment; he changed my life. I recommend him to anyone going through the same pain.

If I could give this fertility clinic a negative rating, I would. Its billing department is terrible. My wife and I have not visited since March, yet we are still receiving bills claiming we owe money, even though we explicitly asked months ago whether any balance remained before ending our relationship with the clinic. Communication is extremely poor; they neither return nor answer calls during business hours. You must visit in person to reach them. During infertility care, this clinic made us feel they were simply going through the motions. I often left exhausted rather than supported, making our fertility journey even harder. Others may have different experiences, but mine was very poor, and I cannot recommend this clinic.

My first visit to this clinic last year was with Dr. Y, who was wonderful. Everything went well after surgery, and I did not return until recurring pelvic pain and other problems developed. My OB-GYN referred me back for further evaluation of possible fertility issues affecting my ability to conceive. This follow-up was a telehealth visit with nurse Kess Thongteum. I was extremely disappointed and angry. She showed no concern for my worries or anxiety and no empathy regarding my medical history. I felt completely unheard. She only wanted to advance a treatment plan requiring more repeated testing, further delaying efforts to identify the cause of my pelvic pain. If I return to this clinic, I will never see her again. I will avoid her at all costs.

My experiences have always been good, with no complaints. Every time I visit and see Brooklyn, I enjoy talking with her. She is like a sister—even after several weeks apart, she remembers our conversations. I appreciate a nurse who makes me feel comfortable during visits. Whether in the clinic or through the app, I feel positive energy from all the staff.

I would never recommend this clinic to anyone trying to conceive. Dr. Y may once have been an excellent physician who helped many people, but use his services cautiously. I now receive excellent, professional care at other nearby fertility clinics. In my experience and opinion, Dr. Y currently has too many patients for him and his clinic to manage, leading to frequent mistakes. Unfortunately, I stayed nearly a year. I did not become pregnant and instead endured one of the worst experiences of my life. They disregarded my name, records, and reason for treatment; performed the wrong procedure; prescribed the wrong medication; violated HIPAA; and disclosed other patients' personal information. Before I began IVF, after my last IUI, Dr. Y sent me another patient's medical information. I saw her name, date of birth, and screenshots of all her visit records. He never apologized, only claimed he had never done this before, which was untrue. Because he sent me all her information, I contacted her. She said she had left the clinic because Dr. Y had also sent her someone else's information. This was not an isolated incident. It happened repeatedly, in my view because he had too many patients, and we suffered needless harm. Dr. Y and his team insisted it had never happened despite my speaking with two other patients who had similar experiences. They completely disregarded my feelings and the pain they caused, especially by prescribing the wrong medication—one that reduced my chance of pregnancy. I wrote this review to protect others from the same experience. I ultimately went to Atrium Fertility Clinic in Washington state and have seen an enormous improvement in care. So far, I am very satisfied.

We had a wonderful experience at Carolina Conceptions. From start to finish, every staff member we met was caring, knowledgeable, and extremely supportive. Throughout this emotional journey, the staff always made us feel comfortable and reassured. We are deeply grateful for their attentive care and for our beautiful daughter 💕

Everything about this satellite office is outstanding. From the moment you walk in, the receptionist is very kind and welcoming. Davin truly is the best! She is extremely patient, knowledgeable, observant, and has the kindest manner. After 3 failed egg retrievals at another Raleigh clinic, I came to CFI anxious about trying IVF again. Davin supported me throughout and reassured me that my body could do this. Her support made an enormous difference in my journey. If you are reading this and are unsure which clinic to choose in the Raleigh area, choose CFI. Dr. Yalcinkaya and his team are the best in North Carolina!

The best fertility clinic, they made us feel at home, the processes and results were excellent, thank you very much Dr. Davyn and your team, thank you for making our dream come true, you do a fantastic job.

Have not heard anything from them since I had 1 failed IVF treatment. Not 1 single phone call or email. The lack of empathy and compassion shows it’s just about the money here.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Every staff member is wonderful. They take time to communicate carefully with patients and discuss every detail. They create a plan, review it with the patient, and genuinely want to help. We initially visited other clinics and felt like just a number, but within ten minutes of our first appointment here, we felt like family and knew we had made the right choice! Do yourself a favor and start here. You will not be disappointed by the outstanding staff and family! Thank you to Davyn, Wendy, Jalyn, Marina, and everyone at Carolina Institute for Reproductive Medicine!

Amazing! The staff here are wonderful. Davin is kind, knowledgeable, and provides exceptional patient care. After work, she drove half an hour to meet my wife and deliver a very important medication. Thanks to her, we are expecting our little one! Wendy, Jayln, and Marina are equally wonderful. If you want a family and people who genuinely care about you, this is the right place.

We underwent IVF, and I cannot say enough amazing things about CFI-Mooresville! PA Kaitlyn Coates is the most incredible person! She is kind, thoughtful, and caring. She genuinely cares about your experience and emotional journey and makes sure you fully understand every step of the IVF process. The entire clinic staff was outstanding from beginning to end. I cried at my final appointment and begged them to let me remain a patient instead of transferring to a regular OB-GYN. I cannot wait for the next round!

Many people recommended CFI to me, and I understand why. Since our first visit, we have received nothing but support, respect, and kindness. This is a sensitive subject, to say the least, but CFI, Caitlyn Coates, and the Mooresville team kindly answered every question and explained how the various processes work, often more than once.
    May 30, 2025
Our experience with the CFI Mooresville office was extremely frustrating. It took months of back-and-forth between our primary care physician and the clinic to obtain a referral, leaving us discouraged before we even entered the office. Communication was a major problem: staff were very difficult to reach, calls were never answered directly, and callbacks were often delayed by a day or more. If office staffing problems prevent patients’ needs from being handled promptly and professionally, the front-desk structure and performance may need reevaluation. Although our administrative experience led us to seek care elsewhere, the doctor herself was kind, genuine, and seemed knowledgeable. My husband and I liked her very much, but we chose another fertility clinic to avoid the ongoing difficulty with the front office. I wrote this review shortly after transferring care. We recently received a bill from the former clinic and, because we cannot access the patient portal, were told to call to pay. Once again, an automated message asked us to leave a voicemail, continuing the same poor communication pattern. We are ready to pay the balance and formally end our relationship with the clinic.

My wife and I received exceptional care here—they were wonderful.

I truly feel the CFI Mooresville office gave me the best support. After years of infertility and a difficult experience at another clinic, the care here was everything I needed. I am deeply grateful to Caitlyn, Shay, Leslie, and Lucretia for their compassion and support. Their patience and reassurance mattered greatly during this emotional journey. I will always be thankful for these remarkable women.

The staff here has been amazing and entirely supportive. I highly recommend them. Dr. Caitlyn Coates, Shay, Leslie, and the rest of the staff are truly the best around. (Mooresville office)

The office and staff are a breath of fresh air! I was very fortunate to have Leslie, Lucretia, and Caitlyn today. Their expertise ensured that we understood our journey.

My experience at this clinic, especially with physician assistant Caitlyn Coates, has been excellent. She always listens patiently to my concerns and answers every question thoroughly and honestly. She cares about her patients and their recovery. Her outstanding expertise and thoughtful bedside manner are first-rate.

I cannot put into words how much CFI, especially the Mooresville location, helped us throughout treatment. From the first day, we felt cared for and supported. The team always knew exactly what to do, and their knowledge and expertise gave us complete confidence. Every staff member was compassionate, helpful, and genuinely invested in their patients. Special thanks to Caitlyn Coates and Dr. Y. We could not have made it through this difficult period without them. Their dedication, kindness, and reassurance meant more to us than words can express. We are profoundly grateful for everything they did for our family.

Words cannot express how highly I regard the Mooresville location of Carolina's Fertility Institute. Our first IVF journey was very successful, so we chose them again in the hope of having a second baby. Once again, they exceeded our expectations. This time, we worked closely with Caitlyn Coates at the Mooresville location. She was wonderful—kind, attentive, and immensely supportive throughout the process. The entire team made us feel comfortable, reassured, and confident. Our second embryo transfer was also successful and was performed by Dr. Yalcinkaya. His expertise and precision never cease to amaze us. His guidance throughout both IVF journeys was exceptional. We are overjoyed to announce that we will welcome our baby boy this October, thanks in large part to your outstanding team. If you are considering IVF, I wholeheartedly recommend Carolina's Fertility Institute (CFI). Two successful IVF journeys have convinced us that they are the only team we trust.

Carolina Fertility Institute is a wonderful place. Jordan and Megan at the Asheville office are excellent, and Dr. Y is highly skilled and committed to achieving results for patients. You can review their SART statistics and see that their success rates rank among the country's best. I am grateful I found them. They are innovative and use the latest data in their approach.

My husband and I welcomed our daughter Olivette after IVF at CFI. We are very grateful to Jordan, Megan, and Dr. Y!

If you want one of the world's best fertility specialists, this is the place to go.
    May 1, 2024
This place is awful. I arrived at 3:30; two people ahead of me had already waited an hour, and I was not called before they closed at 5 p.m. The receptionist refused to refund my copay, even though they had previously canceled my appointment, made me wait, and I could not even be seen. My procedure was delayed another three weeks just two days before it was scheduled. Awful place, awful staff, awful customer service.

I cannot recommend CFI highly enough to every couple experiencing fertility problems. The care you receive is well researched and thorough, and I say this as both my husband and I are physicians. Our experience at CFI was excellent, respectful, empathetic, and successful! The embryology laboratory is busy, and we did not always receive prompt answers to less important questions, but this did not affect our care. Dr. Y, the PAs, nurses, front desk staff, and coordinator team were all wonderful!

I was very careful when choosing an IVF clinic and ultimately selected Carolina Fertility Institute after learning of its 80% success rate. At first, the medications made me anxious and overwhelmed, but Megan and Jordan were very helpful and supportive. They were easy to contact and assisted me throughout! I strongly recommend this clinic if you are nearby. Every team member is easy to work with, and Grace, the financial counselor, is wonderful. She understands insurance inquiries and is highly professional and knowledgeable. I am now 40 and 14 weeks pregnant with my first child! I became pregnant with my second embryo after two rounds, following the first transfer. I had previously experienced three miscarriages, so given my age and egg quality, IVF was my only option. Carolina Fertility Institute gave me peace of mind. Thank you sincerely for all your hard work!
    May 6, 2025
My experience here was absolutely terrible. It took nearly 3 months to schedule a laboratory test because they kept “losing” the referral from my wife's doctor. It had to be resent 4 times before they followed up and confirmed it. We have now chosen another fertility clinic because we have no confidence in them. A medical records request for the same laboratory results was sent three weeks ago, with at least two additional requests since then, yet they still have not forwarded my results to the other clinic. They have no regard for your time, communicate poorly, and do not follow up with patients. I would give zero stars if I could.

I cannot express how grateful I am to Carolina Fertility Institute in Asheville for its incredible support and expertise during my fertility journey! After another local clinic rejected me for IVF because of a poor prognosis, I felt hopeless. CFI welcomed me with open arms and wholehearted support, making me feel valued and understood despite the challenges. From the first appointment, I knew I was in the right place. PA Jordan was thoughtful and compassionate and was always there during my emotional ups and downs to answer questions and reassure me. She took time to explain everything, giving me confidence in the treatment plan. Megan patiently answered every question about the required medications. I do not work in healthcare, and the injections could easily feel overwhelming and intimidating, but Megan reviewed each medication with me and gladly helped whenever I inevitably had questions. Dr. Y was simply wonderful. Even when our initial attempt did not go as hoped, he remained positive and steadfast in his belief that we could conceive. His reassurance and confidence in our journey lifted our spirits and encouraged us to continue. Thanks to CFI's dedicated team, I am now celebrating success! I am profoundly grateful for everyone's unwavering support. If you want a fertility clinic that genuinely cares and understands the complex emotions of this journey, CFI is the place for you!

Not a good experience so far! We scheduled an initial consultation that cost nearly $400 out of pocket, more than most lawyers charge. They later changed it to telehealth for the same price. It will be the most expensive half-hour phone call of my life.

CFI is a gem! They make every patient feel like their highest priority, with individualized, professional, compassionate care. Dr. Y, Jordan, and her Asheville team are all wonderful. I am deeply grateful for their care.
