Russell Hayden, M.D., is a urologist specializing in male infertility and microsurgery. While pursuing graduate studies in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University, he sought an impactful medical field combining technology, precision, and creative problem-solving. He later earned his medical degree from Harvard University.

He remained in Massachusetts for general surgery and urology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, then completed a reproductive medicine and microsurgery fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. Raised in a family of tradespeople, Dr. Hayden takes pride in the problem-solving required in urology, including complex microsurgery performed at magnifications up to 25 times and often using sutures thinner than human hair.

Dr. Hayden belongs to the American Urological Association, ASRM, the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology, the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, and the New York Academy of Sciences. He has published papers, written chapters, and presented on topics including penile prostheses, azoospermia, and metastatic prostate cancer. He joined Shady Grove Fertility's Center for Male Fertility in 2021 and sees patients in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, Towson, Maryland, and other SGF Pennsylvania locations. Originally trained as an electrical engineer, he enjoys building small robots and toys with his two sons and spending family time outdoors.

    I was a known egg donor through SGF, so my experience with everyone was viewed through a very professional lens, but every person I encountered was wonderful. The women at the front desk were warm and friendly every day I came in. Every blood test and ultrasound made me feel reassured that everything was going well. I especially have to thank Lisa in the operating room. She prepared me and helped me recover from the egg retrieval, and she is such a caring person. She made me feel comfortable, listened carefully, and supported me when I needed it. She is an absolute queen!

    Our first experience taking my daughter to SGF Chesterbrook was wonderful! From the receptionist's warm smile and greeting to the very easy blood draw and ultrasound, everyone was extremely kind. There was almost no wait...and every specialist we met reassured my anxious daughter. We look forward to continuing with this clinic throughout her fertility journey. Thank you!

    After multiple unsuccessful attempts and disappointment with other clinics, my husband and I finally chose Shady Grove. My only regret is that we did not choose Shady Grove sooner. Every visit, appointment, phone call, and interaction made me feel incredibly comfortable and reassured. I no longer felt like just a patient or a number to them. They did not overwhelm me with generic information or statistics, but provided genuine, thoughtful care. From the front desk to Dr. Sasson, everyone made me feel important and fully supported in my treatment journey. Every step was explained thoroughly, and we proceeded at my pace. Messages sent through the portal received immediate, friendly replies. I felt that they genuinely had my best interests at heart instead of simply pushing their own plan, unlike my previous fertility clinic. I will always be grateful that they brought this little miracle to our family. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs guidance on their fertility journey. Every employee at the Chesterbrook clinic will make you feel important and confirm that you came to the right place. Infertility is difficult, but Shady Grove made it easier.

    We had a wonderful experience at Shady Grove. Everyone on the care team took our treatment plan very seriously, responded promptly to portal messages, and stayed in contact throughout the process. When we began infertility treatment, we were stressed and overwhelmed, but everyone was exceptional, from Dr. Schumacher, the nurse practitioners, nurses, phlebotomists, and finance department to the front-desk receptionists! Fortunately, our treatment was successful, and we are expecting twins this winter!

    I cannot say enough good things about Shady Grove Chesterbrook! From the receptionists, who made me feel like more than a number, to the excellent technicians who performed my blood draws and ultrasounds, and Dr. Schumacher, I sincerely thank everyone who made our impossible dream possible. The women in the operating room were also amazing! Graduating from SGF is bittersweet because I know we are moving into the next phase, but I will miss the wonderful women who held my hand throughout the journey.

    Seven years later, I suddenly started receiving emails saying that I owed money. In 2018, I was happy to be done with Shady Grove, but now I need to share my opinion. I deeply regret going to Shady Grove in Chesterbrook. Please remember that this is a business and you are a customer. My ex-wife desperately wanted a child and was willing to do anything, and Shady Grove was her choice. The decision-makers at this clinic should be ashamed.

    I had an interview scheduled with Bianca McConney from the talent team. We agreed on a date and time for an interview for the financial advisor position, but I never received a call or email. I first emailed 5 minutes after the scheduled time to confirm, then called for another 10 minutes with no answer. It has now been 30 minutes with no follow-up. This interview interaction was very unprofessional: the recruiter was late and never contacted me afterward. I will not consider this company again. Update: I received a voicemail saying I was not on the interview schedule, even though I had added the appointment confirmation. I suggest not allowing candidates to schedule themselves from time slots if the calendars are not synchronized.

    I highly recommend this clinic. The care, kindness, and attentiveness are unmatched. Dr. Sasson is one of the kindest doctors I have ever met. He listened carefully to every concern and symptom and did not stop until he found the root cause. He is truly special and can make you feel comfortable within minutes.     My experience at Shady Grove was excellent. The staff were warm and welcoming. Everything was clearly explained. We never felt pressured or rushed. Contacting the doctor and scheduling appointments were easy. My team was wonderful. I am due to have my baby in month 12. I had tried for years, and other doctors told me it might not be possible. But after a 30-minute consultation and 4 months of treatment and testing, we finally conceived. I highly recommend this place.

    The SGF clinic in Chesterbrook exceeded all my expectations. The staff were always welcoming, friendly, and attentive.     The embryo transfer that lasted all day. I came in on 1/12/26 for my embryo transfer at the Chesterbrook location at 11:00AM. Dr. Shoemaker, Lisa, Erin, Danielle, and one other woman that I can not remember her name were relentless in successfully completing my transfer at 3:00PM. These woman were not going to give up on me. I was absolutely overwhelmed by love and support. I could not possibly thank you each enough! I will absolutely never forget your passion and determination. Thank you so much ❤️

    First, I want to acknowledge that I came here with very, very high expectations. I also want to emphasize that at a place like this, you naturally expect compassion, care, and understanding... but they always smile while focusing only on money. They listen to you and all your concerns, then collect payment for various treatments only after repeated follow-up. They are extremely cold and uncaring toward women with severe PCOS or even women who have just had their first period. They pretended to listen to me, then prescribed exactly the same medication I had taken before, even though I had already told them it did not work for me and I did not want to take it again. Then they ignored me for weeks!! Completely unprofessional!! They even had the nerve to say they would call back... After more than a week without contact, they called to say they were dismissing me from the clinic, despite having already collected more than $600 from me for treatment! I can now say very honestly that yes, I was angry, frustrated, hurt, and felt deceived. I could not believe that a place I thought would bring me the greatest good could treat a client this way. Dr. Marchetto, her boss Amy, assistant Amanda, and another person whose name I cannot recall do not care about you; they care only about how much money they can make.     We tried several times to begin treatment at this clinic. Each time, the front desk staff were extremely unpleasant, unwelcoming, arrogant, and rude. The treatment process is already complex and emotional, and it is unfortunate that they made us feel inferior simply for wanting to understand their procedures.

    I have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and possibly silent endometriosis. I really like this clinic. It is clean, and everyone is very kind. I had three failed intrauterine inseminations (IUIs), followed by one embryo transfer (ER) and two frozen embryo transfers (FETs). Although I am only 6 weeks pregnant after the second FET, I am very grateful to the entire clinic staff for the care they have always given me. Over the past two and a half years of treatment, I have truly felt that Dr. Sasson and the nurses care deeply about my health. They never pressured me into treatment and always checked on me when I took breaks. They helped adjust my medications and answered all my questions. I especially find Dr. Sasson very knowledgeable. Many doctors might simply have tried once more, but he suspected silent endometriosis and adjusted my treatment plan. I am grateful to him because I believe that is why the second FET succeeded. I had Progyny coverage, which covered many of the costs and made treatment easier. My husband and I are very satisfied with the clinic's services.

    Shady Grove is amazing! I had visited several clinics before but did not like the atmosphere or how treatment was progressing. Dr. Sasson is the most intelligent and compassionate doctor I have met, and he truly listens to his patients. I felt very safe in his care, and I believe that was one reason our first IVF cycle succeeded! We now have a beautiful baby boy, and I will always be grateful to Shady Grove and Dr. Sasson! We also frequently saw Dr. Kallen in Philadelphia for ultrasounds—he and the Philadelphia team were excellent.

    After several difficult IVF cycles, we transferred to Dr. Isaac Sasson at SGF Chesterbrook. Our previous doctor had a good reputation, but we felt like a number and received a standard, one-size-fits-all protocol. Another patient recommended Dr. Sasson, and from our second consultation onward, everything changed. Dr. Sasson was compassionate, generous with his time, and thoughtful about our unique case. Although we live several hours from Chesterbrook, we immediately decided to transfer. Words cannot describe the confidence—and the feeling of being valued and heard—that we experienced under his care. The journey was difficult, but we ultimately became pregnant and now have a beautiful daughter. We cannot express how grateful we are to Dr. Sasson and his team for their help and care throughout our path to parenthood!

    Interestingly, my doctor did not initially prescribe metformin for my PCOS. After I moved to RMA New Jersey, the doctor prescribed metformin immediately, and I conceived naturally. Regardless of my A1c level, metformin should have been the first-line treatment. Their handling of my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance was also terrible—the worst experience of my life. They had me begin a new medicated IUI cycle, only for my insurer to tell me halfway through that the cycle had not been approved. I had to pay out of pocket for charges both sides had originally approved. I would not recommend Shady Grove even if it were the last fertility clinic on earth. Go to RMA New Jersey; they genuinely wanted me to become pregnant, unlike Shady Grove.

    After a heartbreaking setback, we found Dr. Sasson and Shady Grove Fertility. Our frozen eggs were unfortunately lost during thawing at Main Line Fertility, a clinic I strongly recommend avoiding. We were under Dr. Maureen Kelly's care at the time, but the difference in care and service between her clinic and Shady Grove Fertility was night and day. From the moment Dr. Sasson appeared, he was genuine, compassionate, and calm—exactly what we needed after such a devastating loss. He helped us regroup, recover, and believe again that parenthood was still possible. Our fertility journey was not easy, and I truly cannot imagine going through it without this team. Everyone at Shady Grove Fertility Chesterbrook was kind, supportive, attentive, and genuinely invested in our success. At one point, we truly did not know whether we would ever become parents—and now, thanks to this exceptional clinic, we are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters. I wish we had found Dr. Sasson and his team sooner, but I am incredibly grateful that we eventually did. When I first came to Shady Grove, I was exhausted from infertility treatment at another facility, where I felt like just a number. My hopes had been dashed repeatedly, but my first consultation with Dr. Schumacher was deeply reassuring. She spent nearly an hour speaking with me and created a treatment plan that put me at ease. At my previous clinic, I felt like a number being passed around, with no doctor who truly understood my case. At Shady Grove, you matter, and the nurses are amazing.     This is not my usual SGF location, and I encountered many problems during this visit. I went on a Sunday, which was Mother’s Day. I checked in quickly and was slightly late, but they knew at least 30 minutes in advance because the drive took an hour. First, she checked in the wrong person. As usual, I gave only my first name. She did not ask for my date of birth, last name, or any other information. Her tone seemed impatient, and she immediately told me the check-in was wrong, even though I had explained my process in detail and had never had problems checking in online before previous visits. I even tried to show her my completed thank-you card, but she was not interested and only said the check-in was wrong. A minute later, she called me back to the desk and said I had an unpaid $50 bill from 2025. I was shocked but willing to pay. Just before I handed over my card, I was called to the back. Please note that the person she checked in had a name very similar to mine, but with different spelling and initials—and my name is very difficult to pronounce, with 95% of people saying it incorrectly, so if it sounds like my name, I assume it is me. The blood draw was by far the most painful of my life! I have had blood drawn before, but this hurt ten times more than usual. Before inserting the needle, she asked for my full name and date of birth, and I gave both. She drew my blood—ouch! Then she asked me to confirm the name on the label, and it belonged to a completely different person. I could not believe I had reached this point after checking in and giving my full name and date of birth before they discovered the error. Although everything was eventually resolved, the process was terrible, especially since I was nearly charged someone else’s bill! I must say my ultrasound technician was very kind and explained everything; that was the only satisfactory part of the visit. The front desk did apologize, but personal information truly needs to be verified, and the phlebotomist should have listened when I gave my full name and date of birth. If this were not medical, it might not be a major issue because everyone makes mistakes, but this should not happen! The clinic was clean, so I have no complaints there, but most of my interactions with staff were unpleasant. It made me appreciate my experiences at the Bethlehem location even more.

    Dr. Sasson is the kindest and smartest person I have met. Thanks to him, SGF, and the entire staff, I am now the mother of a beautiful baby girl. Dr. Sasson and SGF have made me the happiest person in the world. The clinic is clean, well equipped, and staffed by well-trained employees. I recommend SGF to everyone who needs their services.     If I could give Shady Grove a negative rating, I would. I first went there in 2024 for infertility testing. My first ultrasound found a large 10 cm endometrioma, which indicates at least stage III endometriosis. They did not tell me how severe it was or even explain that I had endometriosis—I had to ask. Because I wanted to try alternatives before IVF, they recommended intrauterine insemination (IUI). My doctor specifically told me, “I have no reason to believe IUI will fail.” However, IUI has only a 3% success rate for patients with stage III endometriosis, which they did not disclose. They also did not tell me that the IUI medications were likely to worsen my endometriosis. After the IUI failed, my pain went from barely manageable to making it almost impossible to work. When I raised the fact that I had not been informed about the medication risks before IUI, the staff essentially gaslighted me. I still receive bills for procedures from 2024, and today Shady Grove withdrew $500 from my bank account without my consent. Worse, it is the weekend, and neither their office nor my insurer is open, so I cannot reach anyone. Shady Grove does not care whether you are healthy or whether your fertility is restored. They are willing to damage your body and finances to get you pregnant, potentially without a good outcome. I underwent surgery with Dr. Milburn, a NaPro-certified surgeon, who said I was the worst case he had seen in over a year. It took him 8 hours to repair my body. Meanwhile, Shady Grove was willing to put me through a high-risk pregnancy in that condition without even telling me it would be high risk. There was almost no shared decision-making, little explanation of procedure success rates, and no discussion of medication side effects. Please spend your hard-earned money on a restorative reproductive medicine physician who can help restore your health so you can not only deliver a healthy baby but also care for your child afterward. Women deserve better healthcare. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

    My experience at Shady Grove Fertility was very disappointing. At first, they created a lot of unrealistic hope about my fertility treatment, leaving me frustrated and disappointed. Rather than focusing on my health, they seemed to treat every visit as an opportunity to sell additional services. I left feeling more like a prospective customer than a patient who genuinely needed help. I expected more transparency and attentive care, but unfortunately that was not the case. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this clinic. After they finally told me the cost, I was not willing to undergo certain treatments. They then tried to persuade me to try another method that they themselves said had only a 2-4% success rate. It sounded like nothing more than a money grab.

    My wife and I unfortunately had a very poor experience at this clinic, especially with the front desk staff. They were cold, uncaring, and at times quite rude—extremely upsetting when dealing with something as sensitive and emotional as infertility. No one chooses this path, and compassion should be fundamental. Their attitude made us feel dismissed rather than supported, especially Joy. They seemed not to understand what patients in this situation endure. Because of the poor front desk service, we decided not to return to Shady Grove and continued our fertility journey elsewhere, where we fortunately succeeded. If you work in health care, especially in a sensitive field like infertility, kindness, empathy, and proper training are essential. At one of the most vulnerable times in their lives, patients deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported.

    I cannot say enough good things about this facility. IVF treatment is an emotional and stressful process, and the team at Shady Grove gave me tremendous support and care at every stage. My nurse, Brittany, was always available to answer my questions and concerns. Nurse practitioner Elyse was also very kind during every scan. They truly made a journey I never expected to experience easy to understand and navigate.

    I am very happy with my treatment and grateful to the physicians, nurses, and everyone who helped our family grow!     Our experience with SGF Lancaster and the Chesterbrook team was exceptional. Before meeting Elyse and Dr. O, we felt very discouraged, but everyone treated us like family and supported us through every challenge. Brittany was patient and extremely helpful.     My husband and I participated in the embryo donation program at Shady Grove Mechanicsburg. We are deeply grateful that our first transfer succeeded, and I am now 12 weeks pregnant. From our first day in November through our “graduation day” in April, the Mechanicsburg staff impressed us. We met Dr. Nguyen only once, but she was very kind, supportive, and caring. She made sure to see us and wish us well on our “graduation day.” Most of our interactions were with front desk staff and nurses. The front desk staff always knew my name when I walked in, even on my first visit. They were consistently kind and welcoming. The several nurses who worked with me throughout the journey were wonderful. They were organized and punctual. When they said I would hear from them on a certain day and time, I did. The financial team and all other staff involved in our care were pleasant to work with and quickly answered our questions. Kristi, the nurse who performed three of our ultrasounds, was genuinely excited for us and explained everything that was happening and what we were seeing. She truly cared about us and our pregnancy.     Unless you meet a certain BMI requirement, they will do nothing for you except recommend weight management. And unless you have enough money to pay out of pocket, do not bother seeking GLP1 treatment through them. If you want to use insurance, they will simply send you back to your PCP for the medication. Their hours are also exactly the same as my work hours, 8 to 4, and they close for lunch at noon, so trying to reach them during my lunch break is wonderful. Let me save you the trouble after they let me down.

    They are full of nothing but lies. My wife and I had a free consultation with Nguyen MD in October 2024. Even though it was free, I still received a bill from them. I explained this to their billing department, but they continued sending bills and charged my insurance! I will take them to court for a fraudulent insurance claim over what was supposed to be free information about the procedure, costs, and so on...

    We had a decent experience at Shady Grove. We really liked their former PA Mindy and new PA Kaitlyn. We worked with them for years to obtain my full diagnosis and the best treatment plan. At every visit, the sonographers and nurses warmly provided updates and explained everything in detail. The billing department was regularly difficult to deal with. Some items were billed incorrectly repeatedly, we were told we had not met our deductible, and we were charged for services we knew our insurance covered. Going back and forth with them was the most frustrating part. Overall, however, we had a good experience obtaining the correct diagnosis, receiving comprehensive treatment explanations, and completing several rounds of IUI. When we ultimately conceived naturally, we had been planning to proceed with IVF. The facility allowed us to remain under their care for the first 9 weeks of pregnancy to monitor progress, for which we are deeply grateful. Leaving their care for routine obstetric care was very difficult. We would use Shady Grove again if needed.

    This clinic is absolutely profit-driven! If you do not begin treatment immediately, they reject you. I went for a consultation and was told that I was 30 pounds overweight and ineligible for fertility treatment. I then asked whether I could at least complete some testing while continuing to lose weight, and they told me that even after reaching a certain BMI, I would still need an HSG and laboratory tests. I spent months devastated by the rejection before deciding to go to Penn State Health, and they have been amazing! My consultation was on Monday, I had an HSG three days later, laboratory testing a week later, and additional blood work several weeks later to confirm ovulation. Now I am simply waiting for my follow-up and the next step in treatment.

    We began going to Shady Grove this summer after several months of trying unsuccessfully for a second child. Dr. Nguyen was compassionate and professional. Everyone, from the front desk and nurses to the ultrasound technicians, was excellent. The clinic assigns a nurse coordinator, and ours always responded quickly. There were occasional minor billing issues, but that happens anywhere insurance is involved. The clinic always found suitable appointment times, and I never waited long. We are now expecting our second child. Honestly, I was sad to leave Shady Grove because their team provided first-rate care and service.

    I went to Shady Grove because I had been diagnosed with PCOS and could not conceive naturally. I spent tens of thousands of dollars on treatment that ultimately had no chance of working because I had severe endometriosis. During my care at SGF, I repeatedly raised concerns about my symptoms and possible endometriosis, but Dr. Lauren Roth dismissed them, saying, “It’s just your PCOS.” All my time, money, and heartbreak were wasted because they refused to investigate an underlying problem. “You’re young; you just need to keep trying,” she said. I would not recommend SGF to anyone.

    I am very grateful to the entire Shady Grove team and Dr. Nyugen. After two intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles, we became pregnant and are now more than halfway through the pregnancy. Every staff member treated me with respect, was attentive, answered my questions patiently, and provided a great deal of support. Throughout the process, I felt heard and included in every decision. This was especially important when I asked to move the IUI to another day because I felt I understood my cycle, and that was the cycle that resulted in pregnancy.     At one point, I wondered whether I would ever have the chance to realize the dream I am living today. With the help of an outstanding minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) physician, Dr. Nguyen, her excellent team, and the care team in Towson, Maryland, we finally welcomed our long-awaited, beautiful baby. Because of endometriosis, IVF was our last hope of becoming parents. I am not sure anything can prepare someone for the emotional impact of infertility, but I can assure you that at SGF Mechanicsburg, you will receive not only excellent clinical care but also genuine compassion and empathy.     Beware! The staff quoted the wrong price, leaving you responsible for thousands of dollars. They said testing would cost less than $300. I received three bills from three different places totaling more than $1,500. The staff could not even tell me which companies would bill me. I honestly do not understand how this is legal. This was with insurance.

    Dr. Martin, the front desk, and care team were pleasant and explained the process and each step well. However, our insurance coverage was assessed incorrectly, and we proceeded based on erroneous advice that IVF was covered. After learning it was not, SGF neither helped nor accepted responsibility for misleading us. More than a year after my last visit, I am still pursuing a large refund owed by billing. Unfortunately, SGF added more emotion and disappointment to our fertility journey.

    Overall, I had a great experience and no complaints about the Warrington office or staff. Dr. Martin is one of the most ethical and approachable doctors I have met. He is attentive, kind, and professional. Physician assistant Christine also impressed me; she is knowledgeable and was excellent throughout. Lindsey and Alicia are wonderful nurses who take time to care for patients and explain procedures. I never had difficulty reaching them or asking questions. The front desk was always warm and friendly. My only complaint is not about this office but Shady Grove's billing process. They require advance payment for services such as IUI, but obtaining a refund is very difficult if something unexpected prevents treatment. This is worth noting because it seems questionable, especially for people already under financial strain from expensive fertility care.

    I did not actually need to see a fertility specialist, but my OB-GYN essentially forced me to because my birth control pills disrupted my ovulation and menstrual cycles for about five months. After approximately a hundred tests confirmed that nothing was wrong with me, they still recommended harmful hormones and expensive treatment. While I was a patient, their database was hacked, and my identity was stolen. That is essentially the whole story. After leaving them, I successfully became pregnant three times.

Despite the many visits, I never felt like just a number. Pat at the front desk always greeted me warmly and recognized me before I even checked in. My nurse Danielle supported me through both exciting and difficult moments. Emily was like a ray of sunshine every morning, and her kindness made blood draws much easier. I was fortunate to work with nurse practitioner Kristen, who was outstanding—patient, thoughtful, and always willing to give me the time and space I needed, especially on the hardest days. At our second meeting, Dr. Martin told us that although he could not predict how long the process would take, he believed he could help us. Today, we are delighted that he was right.     Everyone at this clinic is wonderful! They are kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We successfully conceived through IVF with them, and we would return if we decide to have a second baby. I previously had some billing issues, and although there were a few complications while resolving them, the clinic ultimately fixed everything and handled it very well. They are truly excellent, and I highly recommend this clinic.

    After the painful loss of our child, my husband and I sought answers from Dr. Martin. From the first consultation, he was thorough and compassionate and understood our need for more answers. His team was outstanding. His nurse, Kristin, was also very considerate and made the process much easier. After testing, Dr. Martin outlined every treatment option in detail and took time to discuss each one with us. Although we did not choose a treatment at that time, his team remained beside us and gave us the confidence and support we needed after our loss. I have no doubt that they would be an excellent choice for any treatment plan. Highly recommended!

    I did not want to write this review, but unfortunately the billing department's poor performance was deeply disappointing. First, the staff, nurses, and Dr. Martin were wonderful. Although I did not get the outcome I hoped for, that is not the issue. Before treatment, make sure you fully understand every cost. My financial counselor did not explain the fee structure adequately. I thought I would pay only my standard copay at each visit. She never mentioned separate copays for lab work and ultrasound at every appointment. They should call with an itemized cost, or at least an estimate, before each visit. I received no bills for an entire year—nothing, with a zero balance. Yet during the final months of treatment, I was charged a different amount at every appointment. I repeatedly reminded them of my copay, and they collected only that amount, but could not explain why the charges varied. One week before Christmas, after a full year without a bill, I suddenly received an enormous one and was told I had to pay it before I could be seen. My local clinic “had no idea where the bill came from,” which itself is a problem. The billing department was equally confused, and the issue was passed around until someone determined what happened and why I had received no bills for a year. I cannot understand how they can treat patients this way—sending a 20-page document saying, “Wait, you owe this much,” after no bills for an entire year. Unfortunately, this suggests they care more about payment than patients. Another issue is that if you keep a credit card on file, they will charge it toward your account balance. Before every appointment, you are told that a card must be registered in advance. This means they can charge any card on file against your balance. I learned that you must register a card before every visit, then ask them to remove it afterward so they cannot charge it again. Please be aware of this. I was told my previous cycle had been paid in full, but billing was not notified and charged me several hundred dollars. Fortunately, after a week of back-and-forth, the money was refunded. The past month has been a nightmare, following a year that already left me heartbroken and disappointed. The billing department should be held accountable.

    My husband and I always received respectful, top-quality care at SGF Warrington. Dr. Martin gently told me, ‘You need IVF,’ but respected my wish to try intrauterine insemination (IUI) first. After three failed IUIs, favorable changes in our lives finally enabled us to pursue IVF. Dr. Martin created a more complex embryo transfer protocol for me, with a longer course and higher medication doses, and the first transfer succeeded! My embryo split, and we will welcome identical twins this August. Words cannot express our gratitude to everyone who helped us along the way. Christine is truly an angel.     I cannot say enough good things about Shady Grove and this location. Dr. O was excellent and thorough when explaining options and next steps, and her bedside manner was very calming. The clinical and front desk staff are the backbone of this practice and could not be better. They get to know you, build relationships, and celebrate victories with you. We were sad when we graduated from the clinic, but we would recommend it and return. I gave only 4/5 stars because the financial coordinator, Annie, was a nightmare. She was rude, aggressive, difficult to communicate with, and seemed to know nothing about finance or insurance despite that being her job title.

    Trusting a clinic like this does not require much knowledge about health until you lose a pregnancy and need emergency surgery. This clinic was recommended by Wellspan. The way modern healthcare systems operate is overwhelming. SGF York is run by kind, caring people. But honestly, entrusting a painful and sometimes heartbreaking process to a fast-paced, modern, assembly-line-like system is frightening. All healthcare systems seem this way, including Wellspan/UPMC. I have visited SGF offices in York, Towson, and Rockville, and the staff were kind at each. I was simply accustomed to a family practice where I spoke with two or three people and clearly knew what was happening. This is not the healthcare workers' fault, but the experience is different and can be stressful. You need confidence and trust. Modern science is remarkable, and the doctors here are remarkable.

    Dr. O is an amazing person. This experience would not have been the same without her. She was my greatest blessing during this holiday season. She answered all my questions, stayed with me through every high and low, and hugged me when I cried. I am sad that she cannot accompany me through the rest of my journey. I swear I must have been the most demanding and anxious person, yet she was always patient and calm. She responded quickly, answered all my questions, and normalized all my fears.     We had three unsuccessful intrauterine inseminations (IUI). We then did in vitro fertilization (IVF), became pregnant, and miscarried. I am tired of experiences that end in disappointment. This went on for a year and was a complete waste of time. The doctors do not care about you; they only care about money. We cannot afford another IVF cycle. This was our only attempt, and it ended in heartbreak. Why don't doctors monitor patients more closely and truly care about them? My wife has polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and is high risk, so they should have watched her more closely. We even told Dr. O that my wife had PCOS and needed closer monitoring, but they did not provide it. This only proves that they see you as a number as long as they can make money. They do not care about patients and should have treated us differently. Based on the number of eggs retrieved, I expected a poor outcome. They retrieved only five eggs, and just one was successful because we did PGTA testing. If we had not done pgta testing, the outcome might have been better and our chance of success may have been higher. Perhaps we should have done a fresh embryo transfer and transferred all the eggs. We might have had better luck that way.

    My initial experience with this facility was very poor, especially because trying to conceive is already stressful. I had an initial consultation with a brief conversation and several recommendations. One concerned weight loss: the doctor mentioned GLP-1 injections and said three months would cost $280. She even wrote down the price, but a nurse later told me the actual cost was more than twice that amount. If I cannot trust the pricing information she provides, how can I entrust my fertility treatment to her? In addition, the consultation was supposed to be free through their referral program, but I received several texts saying they would charge $250 to the card on file. When I called the financial department, they did not know about the referral program and told me to call again in a few days. Overall, my first impression was very poor, and I cannot afford to pay $250 for a brief consultation.

    I love visiting the York, Pennsylvania clinic! Dr. O is wonderful. He patiently answered all our questions and explained everything clearly. Autumn is excellent at drawing blood, and Denise explains the findings in detail during ultrasounds. My nurse Rachel is also very responsive and answers portal messages immediately. I would recommend this clinic to anyone nearby!
